If not for Hank and some missed shots, this could have been a really bad blowout. The Jets could have scored another 3-4 goals in that game. What did Buff get a penalty for? He didn't even drop his gloves!
-
Armia looked really good and Hali had some jump in his step. Armia looked good in his own zone and not bad against the boards too. He should get Roberts' phone number off of Scheifele though. He looks pretty lanky.
-
I expect too much and you are saying Copp is an untouchable? Okay,
-
Armia sure doesn't look out of place.
-
That makes him untouchable? Doesn't take much to please you.
-
What does saying Copp is an untouchable prove about you? 4 points in 27 games and he is an untouchable?
-
I think they are going to package up Burmi with Ladd and Lowry for J Staal.

puff puff pass
-
He has a full NMC and who the hell are you putting on the left side? Trouba, Stuart and Chiarot?
-
I can't see Chevy trading the only true LHD we have.

Peluso is sitting and Hali is playing with Armia and Copp. I like sitting Peluso and seeing as this is Armia's first game and Copp's first season, I guess we should have somebody on the line with some experience..... Interested in what Armia can do. He was a pretty big part of that trade and was drafted #16 the same year Scheifele was drafted. He did well in the AHL and Sabres' fans thought he wasn't being called up because the team was tanking and didn't want anyone doing really well. Since he's been traded his points have dwindled. He's only 22 but he's got to start impressing Maurice. I don't expect the 4th to get much more than 7 or so minutes so he's got to keep his mistakes to a minimal. They say he plays inconsistent but if he is going to see only 7 minutes, he'd better be working his ass off every shift. If the Jets play well and/or win some games, I think we won't see Lowry until after 2015.

8 years x 9.75m for 78m is the rumor for Kopitar's new contract with LA...wow.

Don't get me wrong, plenty of vets haven't been playing well either. Scheif's line took awhile to gel and Little (hurt?), Ladd, Thorbs, and Perreault haven't had the best starts to the season although Perreault has really turned it on since that line started scoring and is on pace for a 66 point season. I agree, Maurice isn't going anywhere soon. I think they expected bumps this year with the rookies and Burmi coming back in after two years but I don't think anyone saw the regression in Lowry's game. It's the best thing that could happen to him. Go to the Moose and take a very substantial pay cut and remember what got you here. I'm betting he doesn't get back until the new year and he makes sure he doesn't go back down again. Maurice said they might look at Copp on the PK and also mentioned that if Hali played, he would play on the PK and that Armia was killing penalties on the farm. He also said Thorburn will see some time on the PK. Reading between the lines, I think Armia starts on the 4th line Friday. He also said that if the team were to get on a roll, it would be hard for him to switch up the lines so if Armia starts and the Jets win a few in a row, he would, more than likely, stay in the line up.

That weed is affecting your vision too? Maurice said Scheifele's line was asked to take on more responsibility when asked why he changed up the lines. So, he moved someone with less Donto it? I don't think so but nice try.
-
He played better D, he's be there.
-
Of course the coach has a say in who stays and who goes...isn't that the proper way to run the team? Also, Copp has 4 points. Petan had 1 point. Ehlers has 12 points and 2 in his last 10 and a shooting % of 6.6. Are you satisfied with that? So, ya, it's not all on the vets. Perreault has almost that many points in his last 10 games by himself!
-
He is a bona fide 1C and he is 6 foot 3 inches and 223 lbs. He has 134 points in his last 2 years and Little straight up? One of the silliest posts you have made on here. Pass me some of that weed, it must be killer. You'll be surprised by what CBJ gets for RyJo.

You wouldn't trade Myers and a 2nd rounder for Hamonic? I would. He'd be a good pairing with Morrissey and show him proper how to play D. Playing with Myers is going to show Morrissey how to rush the puck and go all out on O and play soft behind your own line. The Jets are a better team with Hamonic on the team than Myers. I know you don't agree with this but I would rank Myers as our #3 RHD behind Buff and Trouba. edit Hamonic's salary is 4.875 starting next season for 4 years. Actual cap hit is 3.857143m per year. Myers Salary is 10.5 over the next 3 seasons and the actual cap hit is 5.5m per year. So, caphit is about 1.7m per year less and actual salary is 1.375m per year more. Hamonic is under contract for one more year than Myers. Myers and Hamonic were born in 1990.

We really don't need anyone to get top 6 minutes, we need bottom 6 and specifically, the 3rd line. Stemp would look great on the 3rd if you ask me. If he and another player close to his abilities were signed, Petan and Copp could have started on the farm. Burmi would have centered the 4th and killed penalties while Stemp played 3rd line and a Winnik type player got 4th line minutes. Hindsight is 20/20 though. I know talent is coming but not sure if letting some youngsters into the NHL so early is the right thing to do. Lots of Detroit and Chicago draft picks don't get full seasons until they are 23 or so. Detroit, especially, lets their drafts picks develop on the farm.

Math is math....when it tells you that you are done, you are done. You think it is harder to make up points now and you may be right. The Jets have certainly showed me nothing this year to let me believe they are going to start playing as well as they have to to make the playoffs. Let's say it will take 96 points to make it in....they need 33 wins out of 51 games. A .647 winning percentage and they are currently under .500. Hard to think they can do it. I'm not sure if they should have re-signed Stemp and maybe someone else and let the youngsters age on the farm but it sure looks that way. I hope Armia sees the ice and not Hali. Goalie is right though, De Leo deserved a look. Let him come up and make a bit of cash and travel by air and see what it is like. Tell him what he needs to work on and when he goes back down, maybe he improves enough that sometime next season he is called up and stays up.

I'd offer Stafford, Petan, a 1st in 2017 and Harkins and then trade Myers and a 2nd in 2016 for Hamonic. Give Buff 40m over 5 years or 42 over 6. Re-sign Ladd or go after a quality LW like Kreider in a trade or someone that is an UFA like Okposo (switch Ehlers to LW). 2017-2018 season lineup... Connor- RyJo- Little/Okposo Ehlers- Scheif -Wheeler Perreault/De Leo- Roslovic -Armia Lemieux- Copp -Thorbs/Lipon Trouba Buff Morrissey Hamonic Enstrom Kostalek Helle/Comrie

I am old enough to remember hockey before the Leafs last won the cup and I have seen lots of shite happen, it isn't over until Math says it is over but ya, I don't see them getting into the post-season without something like a trade or a goalie lighting it up or the Jets playing consistently good D or something happening.
-
Scheif's line has rocked recently but to say LLW has done nothing recently is BS. Little hasn't put up much points but Ladd has and Wheeler is Mr. Consistency if you ask me. I think Wheeler's talents are best suited playing with Scheif though. Speed kills. TUP, You really surprise me sometimes. I don't think the Jets are going to make the playoffs this year but they are not "in a situation where they are almost eliminated." First, if that were true, why play Hali? Wouldn't they play the young guys to see what they have? Second, The Jets are 8 points out of the playoffs with over 60% of the season to play. LOTS can happen in 50 games.

Wow, really? I hear Noel is looking for work....
-
They've been playing well as of late. Cormier and Hali each got 1G 1A.... I hope one of them doesn't get the call. Petan got 1G 1A and I would much rather see him get the nod. Armia was just here so you wouldn't think he would be called back up would you?
