Seriously though, I wouldn't trade Wheeler and would hate to lose Scheif or Ehlers or Trouba in a package deal but I can' think of anyone else off of the top of my head I wouldn't trade.

I am not familar with him. What character issues? All I see is a very talented, high scoring player with size and ability. He had a tough contract negotiation, but that's not a sign of poor character. There aren't many players on our team I wouldn't give up to get him. The only concern I'd have with him is how much he'd cost to keep when his new deal comes up and if we're willing to pay. I like Ducky's comparison of Torts to Keenan. He likes having a whipping boy. Probably take 7.5 over 7 or 8 to sign him but he is a RFA at the end of this contract.... Mr. Hockey seems to think he has character issues and someone else said Dreger was calling him down but I listened to that H and L and nobody was calling out his play....Dreger mentioned he was put down to the 4th line for 2 periods and he scored a goal on that line.... I'd give Scheif and a 1st for him if he re-signed but would rather give up other assets. He's only 23 years old and 6' 3" and about 225. Great size for a 1C.

Ya, why would you want a 23 year old 60-70 point 1C when your team is struggling? I have been saying Johansen would look great in a Jets uni for a while now....17 to 85 always said they wouldn't trade him and I was dreaming..... I'd do the trade I said in a heartbeat to get Johansen. Jets are high on a lot of players besides Lemieux and, really, if Lemieux makes it better than a 4th liner we are smiling. I'd rather have Lipon.

Future lines would have johansen, scheif, connor, copp, lemieux, wheeler, little, roslovic, harkins, ehlers, petan, armia, etc...

D aren't in any order, just the starters.

You left out Toby, Stu, Petan and Peluso. if they added a 1st, I would do it in a heartbeat. Trade Myers and (Olsen or Lipon or De Leo or Lemieux) for Hamonic and we'd be in a lot better shape. Yup I agree. Hutchinson has been given the starter's role, again, and hasn't taken the reins. Helle HAS to get a chance tomorrow afternoon or Saturday night. Why is Armia called up? Sit freaking Peluso and start Armia already. Let's see what he's got playing in the big league. Tell Buff that if he isn't going to start worrying a bit more about D, he'll soon be a winger. Myers has to play smarter too. Great offensive skills but not the best choices on the ice. Trouba is just having a totally shitty year and has only shown flashes of what is expected of him. He has 1 point in the last 10 games. Scheifele has 4 points in his last 10 games and 3 were against the Nucks in one game. Ehlers has 1 point in the last 10 games. Copp has 1 point. Burmi has 1 point in last 10 as does Lowry (5 points for the year). Myers has 3, and Enstrom has 8 all year. Little, Ladd and Wheeler along with Buff are producing most of the Jets O. They have 59% of the goals scored this year andif you added Staffords 7, it would be over 70% of all goals scored this year. The Jets have scored 61 goals and allowed 74...No wonder we aren't in playoff contention.

Scheif is on pace for a 46 point season which is less than last year. The rookies aren't doing anything and neither is Lowry, Burmi and scheif is streaky to say the least. St. Louis and Chicago have two rookies but how old are they? 23 and 24? first year rookies that were seasoned in the AHL. We need goaltending and team defense first and foremost.

Scheif is top 6 no question.....inconsistent this year tho. Not much wrong with the Jets top 6...it is the team D that needs work and a top notch goalie would be a nice early Christmas present.

Just because they are rookies doesn't make them excusable....what has Ehlers done the last 10 games? Copp? Scheif? Burmi? Lowry? Anyone?
