Ryan Johansen is being shopped around....didn't take long for Torts to have some effect on the roster, did it?

He lays out the hits but he has not p layed up to expectations....a few of the vets and most rookies have not lived up to expectations.....especially the last 10 games or so.

Play Armia, why is he called up? To ride the pine? Play Helle, let's see what we've got there. Perrault isn't playing well either....trade bait?

You can't trade all your vets...trade Ladd and Myers and Stuart and Burmi and Stafford and get Hamonic and OEL....add picks. Re-sign Buff.

It could also be a really important part of the schedule for the Jets. Does a goalie step up and help them into the playoffs or do the Jets play .500 hockey and miss the playoffs? We cold be looking back at this in a few years and say "remember when Pavs hurt himself and ___________ stepped in and won the spot and hasn't looked back?" Or we cold be looking back at this saying "remember when Pavs hurt himself and that Hutchinson guy and that Hellebuyck guy did squat and we missed the playoffs?"

Do you go long term or bridge....I'd sign him long term. He has steadily improved every year and should top out around 60ish points a year. I'd offer him 40m over 8 years today (if you can?). I can see him wearing the "C" or at least an "A" one day. After Stu is gone, I think Scheif gets the "A".

Not to mention Hutch....Scheifele picks it up so me he can get a really nice contract.

Does anyone think Armia should start next game? I didn't see the game or any highlights yet. Who was the 4th line? Overall, how was the goaltending for the Jets?

Id trade Myers for Hamonic straight up. Another thing, Lowry and Trouba aren't doing much for negotiations for their next contract......neither is Hutch really. Lowry 2 years at 2 per year and Trouba 2 years at 2.8-3.0 per year. Hutch 2 years at 1.2 per year. I would try to lock Scheifele up for 8 years at 5 per year. Something like: 4 4 4.5 5 5 5.5 6 6 before the season started I would have thought Trouba was going to get the longer contract and the rest would get bridge deals but Scheifele has been the only one that has showed enough to warrant a longer contract.

Was he playing this many minutes against the other teams top lines? I don't think he was. I read something somewhere that had a bunch of numbers of who he played with the most and what line he played against the most. If I remember correctly, he was playing with Lowry, Staf and Burmi while partnered with Stu the most. I still think Hamonic for Myers starts a really serious discussion whether Snow started with Trouba or not....where you expect him to start??? Chiarot?

What a lot of people don't realize is that Trouba is seeing minutes against the other team's first lines....he isn't responding well but hopefully he is learning.

Myers/Buff and Stuart or Myers/Buff and Chiarot or shop him somewhere else.

Not good news for Pavs at all...big chance for Helle.....HUGE opportunity for Hutch. Anyone think Armia is called up to show Montreal what he can do?

It's not always that the goalie has to be pulled, sometimes it is to wake up or light a fire under the team... I really hope Helle takes over the starter's role with no questions asked. I know the topic has been beaten to death but the Jets need consistent above average goaltending ....they haven't had that since coming from Thrashervile.

He drew an embellishment penalty last game and should realize that diving is not the way the game is played....he is a (super?)star in the making and doesn't need that in his repertoire. His team mates will have his back regardless of whether he dives or not. How many times do you see Scheifele take a dive? I don't think I ever have and he is on the ice three times as much as Ehlers.

We don't know if he's ready but I hope we find out shortly.

We'd need a LHD coming back there somewhere. I like the idea of trading Ladd over Buff though.

Good win. Scheifele was really good again and barely 18 minutes of ice time. Pardy played with some jump. Copp has 3:27 of ice time....really? Ehlers tries too hard to draw penalties. I'd like to see Lipon or Armia given a chance and Peluso to sit a few. Stafford has more ice time than anyone but Buff. Hutch comes in and closes the door. Lots to build off of and the Avs are next! Does Helle get called up with Pavelec's injury? There's a back to back coming up next Friday/Saturday.

Or playing in a market that has hockey fans might help...

Skating was one of the kicks about him even before he was drafted....time on the Moose is what he needs. Did Helle play last game?

How was Morrissey, Petan, Lipon, Olsen and the starting goalie?
