I meant I don't care that he is gone....

Who cares, he's gone. The trade is looking better every day.

Burmi has his good points and bad points....he is a 3rd line winger that was drafted by the Thrashers WAY too high in that year's draft. He overhandles the puck just like Petan....you see Petan do this often, not just once or twice this year. I stated earlier that once he learns he isn't in junior and the plays are MUCH faster in the NHL and he adapts, he will be fine....I'm kinda on the fence whether he should be with the moose or not but I think he probably should be. The fact that he has 2PP time tells me he isn't going anywhere. The Jets are going to put up with the rookie's mistakes and let them learn and hopefully ready when the team is peaking and serious contenders. I love Chevy's plan, the fans of Winnipeg buying tickets make this easier to do. Plus, Winnipeg fans as a whole are pretty knowledgeable about the game. Sheesh, just look at us! Burmi should already have adapted but he hasn't. I like Burmi in his spot as long as he doesn't take those kinds of penalties. He cost the Jets a goal last night and finished -1. Staf +2 and Lowry -1.

Trouba tried to play the puck and wasn't moving his feet and got beat, plain and simple. Then he coughed up the puck behind his own net when he got his pocket picked....goal number two. Staf would be a star if I had to pick. He played a very strong game and potted a couple too. So far, he's had an excellent season if you ask me. Also, I'm not overlooking the fact he was a +3, It's just that he nearly cost us the game with his uncalled for hit.....which you seem to be overlooking. What if they score on the PP and then in OT. That gives us one point and them two instead of us 2 and them none.....could be huge consequences to that at the end of the year.
-
He holds onto it too long and theplay gets b roken up......he'll be ok, he just needs to adjust because he isn't playing junior any more.
-
Postma wouldn't clear waivers.
-
He's been in the league long enough to not make a dumb, selfish, rookie mistake. I'd be down on Ehlers if he made that mistake for God's sake.
-
You know, I agree that it was a bone-headed last minute play. No doubt. But in a 5-4 win, it's hard to overlook a player with a +3 rating and with an assist to boot. So, it is okay to cost your team points as long as you are a plus? What if we didn't get the 2 points and missed the playoffs by one point? Would that be okay.....even if it were Minny beating us out by a point.....Bogo took some dumb penalties last year and Maurice benched him for a period, does he have the cojones to do it to Buff?
-
I agree with this post 100%.
-
I don't care if Buff was a +30, he made a bonehead play that could easily have cost the team valuable division points. A selfish play no matter how you cut it. The guy was down and out already. Two minutes left with a one goal lead....
-
Trouba rocks? Really? Arguably the worst game I have watched him play.....A good player but not tonight. Buff just had a selfish, selfish penalty that cold have cost the team points. I hope Maurice says something to him. I thought Hutch played okay and made some key saves. Chiarot had his best game of the season so far. LLW played well and Wheeler continues to excel. BLS line all played well and I think Scheif's line will really start to dominate after 40 or so games of playing together. Great to see that other teams cannot key in on one line. Staf and Wheeler were the best but I hope we don't see too much of the Buff -Enstrom pairing any more. Not 5 on 5 anyway.
-
Goalie is right, he holds onto the puck too long and so does Petan. Neither uses their line mates properly either....You would thi nk Burmi would be better at this and Petan is in his first year with smarts so you would hope he learns it in the next few years.
-
Fro knew how to play D, Ehlers is still learning that part of his game...
-
I see the Ducks had 15 shots on goal against Minny tonight...........way to soften them up for us......

Edmonton Oilers LOL (perhaps Calgary Flames LOL)

He is a plus player so far this year. Oilers under Eakins were a big minus team so a guy not scoring much is going to have a minus rating. Every oiler racked up big minuses plus minus is a reflection of a team not a player He is a zero player and McJesus is a -4... fire the coach!!!!!! -
I like Ehlers a lot but look at some of his play in the D zone....he's got to be on his man and not let him get away like that. He's learning and once his D game comes around and he matures along side players like Scheifele and maybe Petan/Connor, he should be a force. I know a lot of you guys dont' like this but Ladd is easier to replace than Buff and would get almost as much in a trade.....if we can get a 1LHD or 2LHD, I would move Ladd and the team would be better. We need a LHD and Morrissey isn't the answer. He might be one day but that day isn't here yet.
-
Stafford has had a strong showing this season if you ask me. Checking line, PK, PP...doing everything the coach is asking of him and not biatching about it. A good team player. No way I sign Fro to the contract the Flames did. Should have traded him at the deadline but that has been debated already. Burmi has been okay, you're right tho, he is holding onto the puck too much....so is Petan but this is his first year.
-
I can dream, can't I? I forgot to add that Pavs played a good game and Wheeler is playing as good as I have ever seen him play and must be considered one of the best in the league right now. Never mind taking off a shift, this guy doesn't take of a second of a shift. Ehlers was good offensively but needs to work on his D game.
-
Gardiner would help us out. Trade Toby to TO....Babcock loves him. Toby for Gardiner and a good prospect. Take that prospect and throw in a 1st rounder and one of our prospects and whatever else it takes and get a bona fide LHD. Ladd, Buff and Enstrom for Johnson, Johansen and Murray and a 2nd. I'd even do it without the 2nd. We need a LHD.
-
Staf had a really good game as did Scheif's line. Enstrom was shite and Chiarot started out the game that way too. Chiarot picked it up as the game went on. It is evident that we need a 1LHD or at least a 2LHD. Toby hears footsteps and waits for the hit instead of playing the pcuk. He's still the best passing D man we have but he is a 2lhd at best. What I wouldn't give to have OEL in a Jets uni. I'd like to see Gardiner here as a 2LHD.
-
Chevy wasn't going to overpay for him and I agree 100%.... That contract is easy to take this year but what about the next 3-4 years? No thanks.
-
I get to watch the game to night and I am REALLY looking forward to it. I hope Chiarot and Stuart have good games as well as Petan after sitting a game. GO JETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I am looking at points in the standings, goals for, goals against... all signs of progress to someone capable of looking at more than where someone finished. It is quite clear that there was progress made before Eakins was hired. Then he took a better on paper roster and got worse finishes than before he arrived including worse goals for and against. Try reading and see what the point is. You have to actually understand the situation before you can discuss it, but apparently your level of assessment begins and ends with what position a team drafted in. Cry me a river....the stats that count are W's and L's............they are on pace for a 55 point season...ya, I know it's early but it wouldn't surprise me at all to see them finish in the bottom 5 again...........even with a very good (in my opinion) coach. Progress my azz.
