I would have rather have seen some of the "skilled" rookies playing with some vets. I'm not an NHL coach tho.
-
They still have a year left so their contracts don't start until the 2016-2017 season!
-
If my math is correct, after this season the Hawks will have 48.788462m tied up in 7 players...not much left for the other guys is there.

http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Eklund/Hawks-Extend-Seabrook-For-Eight-Years-Good-Deal/1/71229 6.85m per year for 8 years!!!!!!! wow I guess this helps the Jets' negotiations with Buff? No way he is worth more than Seabrook. Both born in '85 but I would NEVER give Buff an eight year contract.

Pre-Season Game 3 - Oilers @ Jets
Ducky replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Shitty 3rd period for the Jets but I thought Chiarot, Lipon and Petan had strong games as did Lowry. -
Does anyone have the lineup for tonight's game?
-
I should haev said what he said better....he said probably 4 forwards that have never played a NHL game befoer. Not necessarily starting opening night, but on the roster. I inferred the 23 man roster. I should have said it better, sorry. "We're probably going to have, maybe not on the opening roster, but there might be 4 guys on our lineup that didn't play in the National Hockey League last year, up front. That's a third of your forwards. So, we're going to figure out how to do it, and we're going to play our style of hockey."

Lawless Leaves Free Press, Joins TSN Full Time
Ducky replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Lawless is the most connected journalist.....people trust him with info for a reason. Can't say I agreed with a lot of what he wrote but good on him. TSN sees a market with a team about to make noise. -
You see him playing with the Jets the way he has played in Penticton or last night? I don't. Maurice said they will probably have 4 forwards in the lineup that have never played an NHL game before!!! Ehlers, Armia, Copp and Petan? Wow. Try again... Copp played an NHL game last year Lemieux is the other guy. Ehlers,Petan,Armia,Lemieux Telling you that 4th line is gonna be Lemieux Petan Armia to start... Come to think of it, Armia played a game in the NHL last year, too.

If Postma played how Maurice wanted him to, he might see more time. He is a puck moving RHD behind 3 RHD that are waaaaaaaay better than him.
-
He played in the playoffs?

what available coach would you hire?
Ducky replied to Taynted_Fayth's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I think we should fire MB and give MOS another year with a healthy Willy. Bob Wiley would be my first choice. -
It is going to be nice once they cut some players and we see more definite lines. I am interested to see Chiarot play on a more "NHL" team than the one that dressed last night. Olsen, too. Ehlers has surprised me to be honest. I didn't think he would get around some guys like he was. Still needs to use his linemates more but he makes the team. IF 4 forwards make the team as rookies, they are obviously happy to let them make mistakes and learn up here and let them develop in the NHL.

Ehlers, Armia, Copp and Petan? Wow. No I don't see him playing with the Jets playing the way he is right now. Because he's not ready. You realize there's a development process right? And that the player doesn't look as good at 21 as he will when he's in his prime? That players improve? Do you understand the "draft and develop" model, or do you just hear the "draft" part and forget about develop? Important word there is develop...his game is shite right now.
-
You think Lemieux plays more than 10 games this year?
-
I forgot about that....he played one game last year.
-
I thought Armia played a pretty good D game too. I honestly think both of them make the team. What about Olsen? This guy plays a good game. 4th line center?

Chiarot stood out as having a good game to me. Copp is VERY sound defensively and rarely out of position. He understands the system. Kosmo will be a lifetime AHLer if he doesn't pick it up.

Patrick Kane Under Investigation - Alleged Rape
Ducky replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Kane, if charged, will NEVER be convicted now. -
These games mean a lot to the players like Petan, Armia, etc... The last couple of games are closer to the opening lineup but these games tell the coaches who should be on the opening lineup. The last couple of games there will still be decisions being made as to who stays and who goes down. I'm not sure about one mistake costing you that much. The coaches are expecting these you ng players to make mistakes but htye have to limit them and show improement in the system. I don't think Lowry centers Ladd and Little very much at all this year. I would like to see Scheif between Perrault and Wheeler. Pavs played a good game I thought. He made some big saves when the team needed them. Helle played well, too.

If anyone is to blame for the goal, what about Toby using his stick to check in front if his goal. If he steps into him, chances are they don't score. Enstrom played a good game though. I can't say anything bad about anyone, except 63 on the Wild. Ehlers will make the team. I don't think MP-AB-NE will be a line to be honest. L-L-Staf P-S-W B-L-E Thorbs-C-A I was watching Copp, especially in his own zone without the puck, he is never out of position. I think Copp will make the team, too. The Lemieux, Copp, Armia line didn't look out of place at all. Kichton looked good in the little bit I saw him as did Morrissey. Both goalies were good. Trouba had a couple brain farts but was good otherwise. Thorbs even looked good out there!!!!!!!!!! HOCKEY IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maurice said Lemieux has some hands and is almost at a "pro work level". He likes him as a player and he "has a lot of time for him". Maurice said Chiarot hit the wights over the summer and is in great shape and looks strong on the ice. Strong on the walls and reads are good. Maurice spoke highly of Chiarot. Buff-Chiarot could be a punishing pair. Said he would be okay with a smaller line coming off the bench if they played the game the right way.
