The first five on the list of 2016 RFAs are the ones I want to discuss. Trouba Scheifele Lowry Hutchinson Armia Cormier Lipon Kichton Brassard MacWilliam Melchiori Trouba is the most important player to get re-signed. Barring a tragic year, he should forego the bridge contract and go straight to 6m per for 8 years. I would do 5.25m per for 8 years if he re-signed today. Scheifele, if his development continues on pace, today is worth about 3.2m a year and should get 3.8m after this season. Lowry, if his development continues on pace, should get 2.5 on a bridge contract and if he re-signed today, about 2.3. If Hutch has a similar or bit better season than last year, he should get about 1.6m per. Armia's next contract depends a LOT on this year. If he cracks the lineup and puts up 25-30 points on the 3rd line, I would offer him 1.75m per. Most of the rest of the list REALLY depends on how they play this year and management's plans for them.

So, he was on an ELC and he re-signed an extension one year prior to his ELC expiring. Am I right?
-
Philly has 8333.00 left in cap space....Buff makes that in the first 8 minutes of the first game...
-
hahaha okay Buff for Stamkos.....????
-
Trade him to the Bolts....Jason Garrison and a 1st, we retain 3m of Buff's salary.....if they don't re-sign him, we send them a 3rd rounder. Am I asking too much?
-
I'm thinking Buff will get well over 7m per year as a free agent. Probably take at least 7m per for us to keep him.

and hope springs eternal... -
Does anyone know when a team can start negotiating with a player that is on an ELC?

If I were Wade miller I would...

Chungh is only signed for one more year tho... How much has goosen played this year? -
I think the Sharks will make a run for the playoffs and might even beat out LA. I think Calgary finishes ahead of them and Hamilton's play has a lot to say about it.
-
I think Ladd's contract is already in the can will be a nice way to start training camp with a signing. As for Buff the longer you wait the less you get not to mention he always gets little nagging injuries. He's good for the team and fans but the time has come for him to move on. That all depends what we get for him......he is in his prime or just starting the end of it so he would get a really nice return. I wouldn't be letting him go for some of the foolish trades I have been hearing.....
-
I dunno, only thing he said about was Lemieux was his skating stride.....had a lot of good to say about Armia but did mention his inconsistency....he'll probably see a couple of games with the big team before being sent down....probably one of the first call ups. Raved about Hellebuyck besides having a few hiccups early in the season. Said Poolman has gained size and looked more polished....would like to see him in a Jets' uni in 3 or so years. Stated that Kosmachuk had trouble until after Christmas. Harkins looked strong, Petan's accuracy of his shot and skill. Had kudos for Comrie, too.
-
As it stands today, the Jets have 12 forwards signed. I can't see Fraser playing too many games with the big team, if any. I can't see Peluso playing more than half the games. I can't see Halischuk playing more than half the games. If Peluso and Halischuk take one spot between them (I hope not), that leaves 2 openings for forwards as of today (I am assuming Thorburn plays all 82 which I highly doubt). Ehlers, Armia, Petan, and Copp all have a legitimate shot at them in my opinion. The only other legitimate contender is Lemieuz but I see him going back to junior.
-
I could live off of his interest... Does anyone else see LA not doing so well this year or is it only me?
-
Wow, I thought he would get a LOT more than that....he said it wasn't about the money this year though...he wants a cup. Plus, he's made enough money to last a few lifetimes.

If I were Wade miller I would... get an O-line to protect the qb. -
O = Neufeld D = Hurl overall = Neufeld because of the play of Hurl lately.
-
I agree, he might get a few games look at the start of the season but he will end up with the Colts.
-
Does anyone really think Lemieux is ready for the big team? He is a 2nd line winger and 5th place in scoring on the Colts last season and rumor has it his team mates don't like him. He goes back to the Colts.
-
Buff would get a 1st round pick, a 2nd line wingman and a good prospect no problema... Josh Bailey, a first round pick in 2017 and Adam Pelech for Buff or... Buff and De Leo for Hamonic.
-
No Ladd or Little or are they on the 4th line? Put Petan on the 4th line while he learns the D side of the game. He'll be seeing lots of ti me on the 2nd line in a few years. Thorbs/Peluso/Hali and Armia as his wingers. Ladd Little Ehlers Stafford Scheifele Wheeler Burmi Lowry Perrault 50/50 whether Morrissey makes it with the big team...I think he will start a few games for sure but after that, I'm not sure. He'll be getting LOTS of preseason time.
-
There were a few more things than goaltending. Buff, Trouba and Enstrom were all, reportedly, playing hurt. Scheifele was schooled by Kesler. Their goalie made the stops when they needed them and ours didn't.
-
Of all the teams the Jets could meet int the playoffs, I would want them to meet the Ducks last. The Jets can get past anyone but I don't think they stand a chance against the Ducks yet. Now, if someone else kncoked the Ducks out, our chances advancing deeper into the cup run increases substantially.
-
I don't see the Jets making any "big" UFA or TD moves until they are a better team....3 years maybe. I agree with everything you said except two were a joke, not one. Is Scheifele going to develop into a 1C? Is he destined to be a very good 2C? Connor-Cheifele-Ehlers could be scary good in a few years.

The Red Wings are at the top in my opinion....3rd or 4th. I like the quote from the article, "it’s almost unfair at this point."
