Watching the replay of the goal....I'll catch flak but the five hole is big enough to drive a truck through... Really good period by the team and they win the 3rd in a row if they keep it up. edit ... goal doesn't happen if Trouba doesn't turn it over.
-
You have to love those end of period goals....they played most the period in Sabres zone.
-
ESL have around 110 points...
-
Do we have room for those two and Connor? Out with Thorbs, Staf and our expansion draft loss?
-
Not sure what you were referencing? My comment on Trouba?
-
inside joke... Trouba is good enough to make Chiarot look better....but still not near good enough....he looked good when Buff was playing like a Norris candidate but he is worthless and useless...he isn't an NHL caliber D man and our D depth is probably Chevy's biggest failure as of now....I honestly think he goes after a D man via trade or free agency. Look who we have in the system....NOBODY is close to making the step up to the big team. Some people have said Lemieux is doing well but i got a buddy that has Moose season tickets and he doesn't agree. He isn't getting top line minutes, I know that. I think he is playing with Olsen and someone else I can't remember.

I don't like that sometimes you can't hear the questions properly but ... Maurice talking about getting the lineup back healthy and not moving the lines around much. How Trouba's exceptional play has shown he deserves PP time and he was outstanding against the Panthers. (he has 9 points in the last 10 games). Mentions Buff asked to play with Morrissey early on in TC and how he has a good eye and isn't like most vets and likes the young talent. Then he goes on to lie about Chiarot and Postma having a pretty good first half... https://www.nhl.com/jets/video/pregame--paul-maurice/t-277437442/c-48131003 Trouba has really been coming on and if he isn't our 1RHD, he will be soon. If Chevy trades him, there had better be one hell of a lot coming back. I wouldn't trade him even up for Landeskog if the trade were offered.

I think Bogo might have got hurt last night. The fans want no part of either of them although most say Kane's on-ice play is coming around. They've had it with him because of the off ice shite he does. He has 14 points this year and 35 last season and gets paid 6m with a 5.25m caphit... We absolutely hosed them in that trade. We win even if Myers isn't in the deal.

The Sabres lost a tough one in OT last night and we have to kick them while they are down. They have a worse record than us and it should be a win for the Jets.
-
I like what Chevy has done with most contracts and how he has timed things out and whatnot. We look to be in good shape, capwise, for the next few years.
-
Shootout about to start.
-
What about Kessel? Where'd he come from? you think 311 is close to 500?
-
5-0 Caps...
-
As of today, you would make the wildcard with 91 points in our conference. The Jets need 50 points in 41 games to attain 91 points.....not impossible.
-
he is tied with McDavid for points...
-
CBJ down 4-0 in the third to Washington. side note ... where the hell did Malkin come from?

Send a 2nd with Matthias. A 2nd round pick is nothing to sneeze at and they get an average 3rd LWer to above average 4th line LWer. It wouldn't bother me that much if it were MP to be honest but I wouldn't send a 2nd. I think his time on the top 6 is limited to maybe the end of this year with the Jets. I also think you could get something good for him in a trade if he finishes off the season well. Really going to be interesting to see what teams do before and especially after the expansion draft. Anyone think draft day will have more trades than usual this year?
-
If they are taking MP, it had better not be a high pick.
-
After Little, Wheeler and Scheif, does it matter who we protect as far as the 4th forward goes? Management will protect MP or Lowry but if we had 5 D men that were needing trading, I wouldn't hesitate to go 5 D men and 3 forwards. Let's say Chevy went out and picked up a Fowler or a Ceci or even someone like Michael Del Zotto, would it hurt us that much to only protect 3 forwards? I know it is a pretty big if and probably won't happen but I wouldn't be against it. Most on here would pick MP, Armia or Lowry to be the 4th but really, will it make that much difference? The 4th forward to be protected is a great debate but I think even management doesn't know how it will shake out yet.

I just don't think I want Thorbs on the ice unless it is absolutely necessary. We have a healthy enough roster that it isn't necessary. Tanev has averaged 12 minutes a game and deserves and needs the ice time more than Thorbs but I don't think either is going to sway the outcome of a game.
-
I think they only get 2-3 days t look over the list and make decisions....bunch of Vegas employees not going to be getting much sleep there I bet.
-
I thought you said the other day Tanev was a perfect 4th line player and Thorbs didn't belong in the NHL? I'd play Tanev WAY before Thorbs but that's me. Knowing Maurice, Staf will get 8-9 minutes of 4th line time and drag that line down. I wonder if he plays better against his old team? I'd love to see Armia get a couple of goals and against his old team is a good place to start.

Possibly the best D corps since they have come back....imagine how much better it could be with a young LHD like Ville Pokka for example. None of Postma, Chiarot or Stu are NHL caliber D men and I cringe when they are on the ice. They really have trouble in their own zone. Myers should help big time when he is back and healthy although just because a player comes back from injury doesn't mean he is 100% healthy and I would guess most aren't. The expansion draft is probably delaying what some GMs want to do with their roster. Chevy might want to trade for a you ng LHD or RHD but is handcuffed somewhat by the expansion draft. One possible solution might be to trade for an experienced D man and go the 8-1 route and protect 5 D men. I think he would have done this already though if he were going to do it. Going to be an interesting off-season with the expansion draft thrown into the works. Glad it is this year and not next though.
