that is what I mean he was never in Junior.

It is easy to say trade Staf or Burmi or someone but who wants them. If we are to shore up our bottom pairing D, it should be with a p layer that is exempt and doesn't have to be protected. Someone from the Flyers or Ducks organizations for example. Put up Armia or Dano or Lowry or someone. I know it won't happen and a lot of people won't agree but now would be a really good time to trade Wheeler. We have an abundance of RWers, we aren't going anywhere this year and he would bring back a LOT from the right team. Think of what Chevy could pry out of the Rangers or Flyers or LA or Ducks for someone of that caliber. What do you think the Yotes would give up? Guys like Pollock, Cal Murphy and Wally Buono would be on the phone seeing what they could steal from other teams. edit ... Ovi Back Wheels would make a hell of a line.

Hard to make a decent trade before the expansion draft.

I think most if not all of this loss is on the players. They mailed it in. Even if they fired Maurice, now is not the right time. Much better replacements in the off-season. The tank is on. Still a young team and we have to show patience. The Blackhawks miss the playoffs 5 seasons in a row when they started building their team. They made the playoffs the year before that and won only one game and didn't make the playoffs for 5 before that! They drafted Keith in 2002 and made the playoffs 5 years later and haven't looked back.

Lots of blame to go around on this one. Maurice, Buff, Scheif, Staf, Chiarot, Postma and on and on... Might as well start the tank because they aren't making the playoffs. Pathetic showing in a really important game. It wasn't Helle's fault but he was .870 tonight...

The Jets will not be going to the playoffs because they don't deserve to be in the playoffs
-
Breakaway or not the shot needs to be saved.
-
Helle needs to stop that...

If the ice isn't very good the advantage goes to the team that isn't the better skating team.

You could see that coming...

A bit of a difference between trade proposals and you saying the Jets might not take Laine at 2nd or Patrick won't go 1st overall, no? A trade proposal isn't predicting anything. Predictions? I was the one that said Connor would start with the big team and Thorbs shouldn't be dressed. Also said Petan deserved a chance to be called up just before they called him up. I have also been a BIG supporter of Armia and he was playing really well before his injury......those 4 things are what most people on here jumped on me for saying and all came true. Same as last year in late November when I said the Jets weren't going to make the playoffs. I'll be the first to admit that i didn't think Tanev would start with the big team or they had the balls to send Pavs down although I said it is what should be done. I didn't think they would sit Stu for as many games as they have either. Oh ya, I remember you trying to lecture me why Staf deserved tobe on the team this year too..hahahahhahash. Almost as laughable as Werenski taking the Calder over Laine if it were decided now...hahahahhash... Puljujarvi wasn't in junior?
-
They definitely look at his performance in the off-season. He is going into his last year so he is extended or let go. He wold really have to screw up for the rest of the season to not be extended. Those special teams though...
-
This coming from the guy that said the Jets might not pick Laine and might go with Puljujarvi instead...
-
I think they win both games.....if they lose both games, the playoffs will be nothing but a dream this year.

" the imminent return of forwards Shawn Matthias, Joel Armia and Nic Petan, who have missed duty because of injuries. All three took part in Monday's full workout, and head coach Paul Maurice said at least one of the trio could play out west before the club breaks for Christmas." Petan? The Jets lost 4-3 to the Red Wings in a shootout Dec. 6 and Burmistrov was a minus-two in just four minutes, 57 seconds of ice time. He hasn’t played since.

Can I say smoke a joint?
-
Colorado is a death sentence for coaches.
-
Maurice was asked if Petan will go to the Moose when he is healthy and Maurice said he would be with the Jets. Management has some interesting decisions ahead of them.
-
much rather see Dano Petan Armia
-
If ESL MP Little Wheeler Matthias Lowry Armia are our three lines when everyone is healthy, it would mean that Copp Tanev Petan Staf Dano Thorbs and Burmi are competing for 3 spots plus 2 in the pressbox. Does Connor see any time with the Jets this year? I'd waive Thorbs and Burmi and sit Staf and one other.
-
To put into perspective... Helle sv% .909 Bishop .906 Gibson .906 Schneider .905 Fleury .904 Mrazek .902
-
No forwards over 20 minutes... If Thorbs sits when Armia gets back, who sits when Matthias gets back? What about when Petan gets back?
-
Roslo, Foley and Spacek are enough to get me excited to watch. What other hockey is on? Sit around at 420, eat some turkey leftovers, have a wobbly pop and watch some future stars...

Chevy should get me some season tickets. The Jets 2.0 are batting 1.000 with me in attendance. Laine is a sniper and Scheifele may be the next captain and Helle REALLY deserved a shutout and guys just bounce off of Buff but Ehlers is worth the price of admission. This guy can score 40 goals every season if they start going in for him. He has the speed of Ivan Cournoyer and possibly better hands. For you younger guys, Cournoyer was nicknamed the roadrunner and was the fastest guy in the league for years. His rookie season was 64-65 and he went on to score more than 400 goals and almost 900 points. He is a hall of famer and I dare say that Ehlers has the potential to be better and I think that he will be! I gotta fess up and admit that I was hoping Chevy picked Ritchie because the Jets were a big, bruising team at that time and I thought Ritchie fit in better. God, it's a good thing I'm not running this team. Absolutely hate that Helle didn't get the SO because he deserved it. Chiarot and Postma are no better in person but I thought Postma made way fewer mistakes. Chiarot is, at best, a 7D man. I'm not bitching about the price of beer at a game because Winnipeg went without an NHL team for way too long but I can remember bitching when beer went up to $3.50 at the Jets' games!!!!!!!!!!! Two big games in BC coming up that would be really, really nice to win before the break. It would even give me hope of possibly seeing them make the playoffs. 37 points in 36 games is really close to a playoff spot in the Western Conference this year and we have injured players about to come back. Dallas, Vancouver and Colorado aren't making the playoffs this year. If the Jets turn it on now with a more relaxed schedule, the playoffs are a possibly.

Nobody have any interest in this tourney? Foley and Roslovic for USA and Spacek for Czechs. Anyone raising any interest? I am interested in seeing how Barzal, Strome, PLD and Jost does. goalies Carter Hart and Connor Ingram; defencemen Thomas Chabot, Noah Juulsen, Philippe Myers, Jake Bean, Kale Clague, Dante Fabbro and Jeremy Lauzon; forwards Dylan Strome, Mathew Barzal, Mitchell Stephens, Julien Gauthier, Anthony Cirelli, Nicolas Roy, Dillon Dube, Pierre-Luc Dubois, Mathieu Joseph, Tyson Jost, Michael McLeod, Taylor Raddysh and Blake Speers
