  1. I don't think he goes anywhere. The Moose play two games this weekend and then go on a 5 game road trip and then are off for about 10 days after that. He stays up.
  2. Staf is horrible as a RWer so let's play him on the left side where he is worse?
  3. Bogo and Kaner were rated very high in their draft years....Kaner never should have come straight to the bigs....Bogo either really. If you go back and take a look at the Thrasher's draft picks for 5 or 6 years before they came here you would see that they traded away some 2nd round picks. Also, they seemed to be, overall, a poor judge of talent. 2010 Burmi and no 2nd 2009- Kane and in 2nd they got Klingberg and Morin 2008- Bogo and Leveille were 1st rounders and Leveille was never signed...no 2nd 2007- no picks in 1st or 2nd 2006- 2nd Holzapfel and Little in 1st 2005- they had one 1st round pick and three 2nd rounders and only Pavs (2nd round) played a game in the NHL... Six years of 1st and 2nd round picks and 4 players still in the league.... One of them is 8th overall pick Burmi.... They had 3 years with no 2nd round picks and one year no picks until the 3rd round! Compare that to Chevy's drafting. Sutter, a 2nd round pick, didn't pan out but he has been stellar at the draft table.
  4. One word BUSH How does this make the NHL look to Outsiders?
  5. I think Chevy went out and found Maurice or did his background checking or whatever you call it whereas Noel was waiting in the wings. Nothing wrong with Maurice as a coach for where this team is. Not sure about three years from now but he isn't really hurting the team.....he warned that the lines would be juggled before the season started. I expect he will get a two or three year extension shortly after Chevy gets his extension. Maurice has his pros and cons just like every coach.
  6. I am not sure if he hired Noel.....more like a Chipman hire no?
  7. Plus, he is bringing in a lot of young talent which certainly helps the overall salary. I think he had done an outstanding job at the draft table and has assembled one of the best prospect pools in the league. Look at the young talent he has brought to the team... Scheif, Lowry, Helle and Armia are only 23 and Copp, Dano, and Trouba are all 22. Petan and Morrissey are only 21. Connor and Ehlers are 20 and Laine is 18!!!!! That's 12 players born 1993 or later. That is also not counting players like Roslo and Lemieux and Comrie that should be with the big team soon or players like Tanev and Burmi that are a wee bit older but don't have the years in the league. He's done very well drafting.
  8. Why wait until the TD???? DO IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. He is underachieving like most of the Isles' team...what a glorious contract he signed though. They let Okposo go and signed Ladd and saved 1/2m a year. Okposo has 17 points on a poor Sabres' team and is on pace for 56 points this year AND is 3 years younger than Ladd. Hey Snow, good move.
  10. Talk about anything you want about Chevy in here but I was just noticing that after this year, we are 20m under the cap and in pretty good shape as far as RFAs and UFAs goes. We are losing Staf's and Pavs' contracts and some smaller ones too. Combine those two with Thorbs and 9.45m comes off of the books. UFAs Pavs ... gone Staf ... gone Peluso ... gone Strait ... gone Thorbs ... gone Postma ... depends what happens on the D...if things stay the same, I'd offer him a one year deal. He is making 887.5k this year. I am guessing he is gone. There are some RFAs that won't make the Jets or aren't really in the future plans so I won't comment on them. Copp ... re-sign to a 2 year bridge for .9 - 1.2 m per year. Dano ... re-sign to a 2 year bridge for .9 - 1.2 m per year. Tanev ... re-sign to a 2 year bridge for .9 - 1.2 m per year. Chiarot ... re-sign him to a one year deal with a slight raise from his 850k contract. Helle ... re-sign him to a 2 year bridge for 2m? a year...or do you re-sign him for 5 years at more per year? I say the bridge. Which leads us to Burmi ... I wouldn't give him a qualifying offer if he isn't moved to be honest. Let him go play in the homeland. I wonder if Chevy goes after someone like Alzner in free agency? I would love to see him in a Jets' uni next year. 20m is a lot of cap space and I know Chevy will need it in the upcoming years after next year but he has done a bang up job of keeping the finances in order so far.
  11. There's already something in there about that and I think it is a season must pass first. Rich might know? Same as buying out a player this year. Can't buy him out and re-sign him after the expansion draft.
  12. I think they take MP without too much thought if Lowry is protected. They'd probably take Armia, dano, and MP before Copp. In MP, they have an experienced center that helps them make the salary cap floor. The Jets have invested too much into Lowry and are very high on him and I think they would protect him if it were tomorrow. IMO he is a really good 4C or an average 3C but what do I know? They have their work cut out for them and a lot on their plate. They will draft some players that can be sent down without waivers but they gotta fit that around the expansion draft and entry draft AND the many deals that will be proposed to them. For instance, Chevy says pick Lipon/Kosmo and we'll send you a 2nd for a 5th at the draft table or something along those lines. They get a 2nd and a good farm team player for a 5th. There are some people that think that Matthias was signed just for this purpose. A really interesting time coming up and I think an extra flurry of moves before the draft.
  13. 5-2 Rags if Hutch starts...
  14. I think that if the draft were tomorrow and the Jets went 8-1, they would protect Lowry and leave MP exposed.
  15. Rangers are 4-5-1 and lost to Jersey 4-2 last night with Ladd getting the GWG. Some injuries to important people. 3-2 Jets or maybe an EN goal for 4-2.
  16. Armia hasn't been given the chance to play with more offensive-minded players on the Jets. He was playing with Lowry and Matthias and he was dominating shifts before he got hurt. He was killer on the PK. You should go back and read some of the posts you made about him. This guy is the real deal but I don't see him beating anyone out of the top 6 in the future if it is Ehlers Laine Connor Wheeler Little and Scheif....MP Roslo and Armia might not be a bad 3rd line in the future though. The kick against him has always been that he takes shifts and whole games off but I haven't see any of that and I look for it because of his reviews when he came here. But Maurice will put him on the 4th line or 3rd if he is lucky. Laine is the only youngster that he put with O players from the start, not saying that is wrong but don't you think you would try Armia or Connor with some high end talent? Wheeler played with some youngsters but that was more out of necessity. It is what it is though and I think the Jets have done well this season considering how many youngsters are on the team and the injuries they have had. I think they are on the right track and will be very good soon. If you look at the future how Chevy has laid out the contracts, he has done an excellent job of it especially considering we don't spend close to the cap limit yet.
  17. Where did I say it wasn't a clean hit? His head took two skates and then they fall on him...
  18. You have a short memory or you might remember that he or Ehlers was the best forward on the team when he got hurt. How many points you think he is going to get with Lowry and Matthias? He was setting them up multiple times a game and they couldn't put it in the net. your quote... " If Lowry and Matthias could score... Armia would have about 10 points these last 2 games." edit ....... Dano has 8 points in 19 games by the way...
  19. I know it is the coach's decision whether Connor plays or not but whose decision is it iwhether he goes down? Is that Chevy's decision? is he healthy? Why is he not on the ice developing somewhere?
  20. I don't care what we get for him. I want him gone. I am sure he would return a third-round pick right now and if he didn't I would settle for a fourth round pick. I would even retain 50% of his salary. Armia going to play 4th line when he gets back because Stafford is on the first line or second line?
  21. 4th line for Staf until you move him. Connor should start next game or send him down already. Hopefully Burmi can't play next game.
  22. Stafford??????????? Oh well we had enough chances at the end of the game.E hlers has had enough chances in the last two or three games to score 6 goals. What aboutLaine? Wow just wow.
  23. The Jets are scrambling and we'll be lucky to get out of this period tied.
  24. I think his team-mate skate and a devils skate hit him in the head after he hit the ice butt it was the hit and him hitting the ice I wood be worried about.
