  1. Nothing wrong with Matthews...of course I am biased towards the Jets but Matthews should be their 1C for the next 10 years. One might argue that in the long run the Jets would have been better off with a center instead of a winger...
  2. Laine is on pace for 47 and Ovi has scored 65. He scored 52 his first year as a 20 year old.
  3. Not in today's NHL but maybe tomorrow's? I really like how Little being back means he and Wheeler and ? are a force to be reckoned with so teams can't focus so much on the Ehlers Scheif Laine line. Speaking of that line, time to give Connor a couple or 4 games with Little and Wheeler. They are strong enough in the D game to help Connor out and this would make for a really good 3rd and 4th line. If they don't put Connor there, then they should put MP in that wing because Staf really doesn't deserve to be there. MP Copp Dano Tanev Lowry Staf you pick which is 3rd and which is 4th.
  4. Those crabs can move!!!!!!! Thumbs up to their herb but haven't tried the rum!
  5. You misspelled misspelled...
  6. Little coming back has helped both the O and D side of the game and MP looked good on the PP last night. Their games will improve as they get a few games under their belts. Myers will make a big difference as our present 5th, 6th and 7th D men all pretty much suck. Matthias is a big grinder and Armia was really starting to live up to his billing. We'll be fine once everyone is back and Helle gets more games and Thorbs and Burmi are not seen from again. It'll be really interesting to see what they do with the extra players once everyone is back from the IR.
  7. As far as the Jets go, Wheeler is playing very well as of late and Little has been missed as has MP. Staf can just go away and take Thorbs and Burmi with him. Buff is trying to do too much because we are always chasing the game and Enstrom and Trouba have played well. Buff playing 30 minutes a game is crazy.
  8. Where did you read that? I have always said it isn't the biggest reason for our record but it does contribute. Helle needs to be good for a whole game not just 25-30 minutes. I also pointed out we should expect some inconsistency from a young, rookie goalie. I'm okay with that because I see some really good things from Helle. With the injuries this year, it makes it harder to analyze some things.
  9. Last year after 26 ... 12-12-2 This year after 26 ... 11-13-2
  10. How long are you going to go on saying our goaltending is ok when it is very inconsistent and average to below average? The deflection off of Postma still should have been saved. He didn't have the net covered and it got in under him. Our goalies seem to always let in one or two questionable goals in 2/3 of the games they play! He was scored on 6 times and not one could have been saved? It isn't the biggest reason for our record but it is a contributing factor. We need more consistent better than average goaltending. Staying out of the penalty box would sure help too.
  11. Thorbs over Connor.....whatever. Play Connor with Little and Wheeler and move Staf to a line with Lowry and Tanev on the 4th. MP can center Dano and Copp. Inconsistent goaltending from a 23 year old rookie shouldn't surprise anyone. He is learning the NHL game still. Maurice says Lowry is being trained for a role....his role should be a 4th line center and he would be good at it. He can move up to the 3rd in a pinch. Hutch starts next game? B2b games on the road with St. Louis and Chitown coming up.
  12. Another weak goal and the Jets go down by 2. The coach said the reason he is playing on the 4th Line is because he is happy with the way the other three lines are playing he doesn't want to change them... Can you freaking believe that?
  13. LA is the last WC team and are on pcae for 89.13 points. Theoretically, 90 points and you're in. The Jets have 24 points so they need 64 points in the 57 games they have left. They need to win 32 games (or a combo of wins and one point losses) to make the playoffs at 90 points. They are currently on a pace for 79 points. They are steadily getting their vets back while their youngsters are mainly playing very well...Laine, Morrissey, Dano, Copp, Armia before injury, and I think Petan have all showed very well. Connor, not so much but I would like to see him with Wheeler and Little for a couple of games. I hate to say it but it would surprise me if they make the playoffs. They might have stood a chance before the injuries but we lost a lot of points during this time regardless of how well the team has played. I am more interested in developing the players this year and if everything more or less goes as it is going, we will be in the playoffs next year.
  14. Players taken after the 100th pick that year... 107 Kirk MacLean 117 Brett Hull 119 Kjell Samuelsson 171 Luc Robitaille 180 Gary Suter
  15. Pretty good seeing as half the team is with the Jets... That Kane/Bogo trade looks better every day. Look at how well Chevy stocked the shelves with that one trade while getting rid of Kane at the right time.
  16. Ehlers ...tied for 3rd for most assists. 16 Laine ... tied for 2nd for most goals. 13 Scheifele ... tied for 2nd points race (26) and tied for 2nd in goals. 13 How lucky are we to have had them carry the O while we have had so many injuries? fixed it...oops
  17. One of the all time best and a local too. The last time he won the Vezina was 14 years after the first ti me he won it! Sad, sad story though. Dryden was drafted by Boston but what is it about the Habs pulling all star goalies out of their azzes all the time? Price Roy Dryden Vachon Plante Durnan..........they drafted Tony Esposito too.
  18. He had some good games on the road.....inconsistench is what you get when you go with youth. Be glad it is happening now.
  19. Yup...didn't want to mention his 6 games at the end of his first season...too much of a giveaway. Was an integral part of one one of the best teams ever assembled.
  20. Yup, would have put up the sv% but couldn't find it for all years. The guy was a winner right out of the gate.
  21. Who am I? Games played starting with first full season followed by Goals Against Average. Arguably the best goalie of all time. 64, 2.68 GAA 54, 2.24 GAA 56, 2.26 GAA 62, 2.69 GAA 56, 2.14 GAA 52, 2.05 GAA 47, 2.30 GAA He played 7 full seasons and a small part of another and had a winning percentage of .600. He also won six Stanley cups, a Calder Trophy, a Conn Smythe Trophy and five Vezinas. Think about his awards considering his time in the game and his winning percentage. In my eyes the best goalie of all time.
  22. They have to stay on the IR for a minimum of a week, no? It just seems very convenient to me.
