I would protect Wheeler, Scheif, Little and then... MP/Armia (depends on how Armia plays when he gets back) Dano Lowry Copp. I would protect MP, Armia and probably Dano over a 4th line center.

Do we go 8-1 or 7-3-1? I would think that Scheif, Wheeler and Little are locks to be protected and we have to protect Enstrom and Buff because of their NMCs. Opinions will change as the year goes on and some players play better/worse and some might be traded but right now they would go 8-1. Wheeler Scheif Little Trouba Enstrom Buff Myers Helle for a goalie but who is the 8th player we shold protect? MP? Lowry? Armia? Dano? Copp? I say send them a draft pick so they take Copp. A 3rd rounder or so.

These are always hard fought games and there is no love lost between the two ... Winnipeg is in 5th place in their division and the teams behind them still have games in hand... Jets have 20 points in 21 games Preds have 19 points in 18 games Avs have 18 points in 18 games The two teams ahead of them... Wild have 20 points in 18 games Stars have 21 points in 20 games The Jets are not sitting in a very good position right now and need to put some wins on the board.

The players negotiated about a week off in February...Jets have from 20-27 off. The playoffs run into June as it is so what else could they do? There are teams that play more b2b than we do.

They have him signed to two years. After that, he can ask for salary arbitration. If he does, The Jets will ask for one year instead of two. The year after the same thing and then he is is an UFA. I think he is moved way before that. If he doesn't sign a new deal during his last year of this deal, Chevy moves him.

I'm more than willing to see what Maurice can do with the team when it is healthy and what kind of decisions he makes with personnel. This is a develop/transition year. We have 4 rookies in the lineup and a few more in their 2nd year and a lot of injuries. Question...does Chevy have anything to say with who sits in the pressbox?

I think he has....he probably could have had a 6 x 5m contract so the next two years he is making 4m less than he could have. I don't see him signing a long term contract here. Either gets traded or goes to arbitration for two years and then UFA.

but when I pointed this out a week ago everybody was telling me to quit arguing. I can't remember who but somebody was bragging about the Jets being in second place when they had games in hand on everybody below them. They are in third place now and have 4 or so games on the two teams right behind them. The long road trip they had last November did them in as far as the playoffs go I hope this road trip doesn't do the same thing to them. If we were getting at least average goaltending we would be a better team. Little's injury is affecting this team a lot more than some people realize.
