Trouba wants out (Trouba has signed)
Ducky replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
pffffft. another excuse leaked by his camp....are they sure they will be together in 6 years?????? 4 years?????? 2 years?????? I call BS to the nth degree. Lindholm's signing is advantageous to the Jets...5.25 over 6 is a steal. Hell, Risto's agent should get a raise. Trouba isn't worth more than 5m in the league's current market. Chevy should tell him 30m over 6 or you can sit until I find a trade the management is happy with. If that happens to be after Dec. 1, so be it. -
Game 8 : Armia's Army @ Avalanche
Ducky replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Good for Dano....if not for the waiver rule, he probably wouldn't have been sent down. I think we should have called up Petan or Copp but what do I know.....if the duration is only going to be 2 games or so, I would have called up Roslo and lined him up with Wheeler and Laine. Put Scheif with Connor and Ehlers... -
Teppo???????

Trouba wants out (Trouba has signed)

If Lindholm got 5.25m, Trouba is worth no more than 5m... -
Playing him with those two is a waste of his talents.

Game 8 : Armia's Army @ Avalanche
Ducky replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
I'm not I'm not sure why they dislike him so much because I think he's better than Chiarot..... probably doesn't want to switch up the lineup from a game they won what so handily. -
Wheeler usually starts slow but the way he started this year I thought he was going to tear it up...
-
Trouba, Lemieux. and a first for RNH and Nurse. We give up a lot but get 2 pretty good players in areas of need.
-
Like I said earlier maybe Chevy didn't want to give up what he had to give up to move up that high and if most analysts and if most analysts had him around that area I don't think he's that much of a gamble to be honest.
-
so you think he still would have been there at that position even if they hadn't traded for him?
-
I agree but he has put in time on the farm and should be given another chance. If they call up a center it should be Copp. If a winger, give Petan another shot and see how much he has progressed. Otherwise call Up Dano.
-
maybe they couldn't swing a deal to move up to pick Chychryn?
-
he is he is a center and I don't mean to keep Connor sitting I meant to pull out thorburn and put Connor back in
-
Nobody thinks that Petan should be called up?
-
Most analysts had him going 18-23.

How Much Rope Should Paul Maurice Get?
Ducky replied to IC Khari's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
I am not sticking up for Maurice but let's remember that he has 4 rookies ono the team, Trouba out, both goalies not playing up to expectations and our 1C getting hurt right out of the gate. -
Didn't Stanley go right around where he was predicted?

a few quotes from everyone's favorite.... Friedman... "the Jets are committed to Josh Morrissey. It wasn’t easy for Paul Maurice to scratch Mark Stuart (and Chris Thorburn) from the Heritage Classic, but they want him to learn. Morrissey shared some great insight into playing with Dustin Byfuglien, calling him a excellent partner with one (tongue-in-cheek) exception. “I’ll go off after 30 seconds, and he’ll say, ‘You’re never going to keep up with my minute-long shifts if you do that,’” Morrissey laughed. He added there have been times Byfuglien has yelled at him to stay on the ice when he’s gone for a change." "There’s no substitute in reporting for face time. Going into Winnipeg and spending a weekend there, you can’t help but be struck by the feeling the Jets are determined to play hardball with Jacob Trouba. Several teams have tried to be creative but GM Kevin Cheveldayoff is not budging or talking. All he says is, “We will do what’s best for the Winnipeg Jets.” Unless he gets an elite, young player with term or team control, this is not going anywhere for the time being. " " Don’t look now, but looming large over Winnipeg’s goalie situation is Ondrej Pavelec. The Jets have allowed 19 goals in five games. There are conflicting reports on how seriously they talked to Los Angeles, with some sources indicating they wanted to get rid of the contract and others saying they always intended to keep him as an insurance policy. After scoring in the Heritage Classic, Edmonton’s Mark Letestu told Scott Oake it was the same move that worked for him in beating Connor Hellebuyck during an exhibition game. Hellebuyck’s going to be a stud but that shows the very steep learning curve. Can’t let a guy beat you the same way twice."

I can't find it anywhere but here is a link to the CBA....Article 11.4 talks about the signing deadline but that is all I can find. http://cdn.agilitycms.com/nhlpacom/PDF/NHL_NHLPA_2013_CBA.pdf

http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=142313 The numbers aren't impressive but the Ws sure are. It would be nice if there was a spot to back up Comrie on the Moose. I wouldn't mind seeing one of our goalies getting injured for 10 days or so (nothing lasting) and letting Comrie get a taste of some NHL action. Put some more heat on Hutch and Helle to perform better because they are average at best. I am probably being impatient but I thought Helle would come out and steal some games for us early in the season and play like a beast. The Little injury and Trouba holdout are having a big impact on the team as well. Having Buff Enstrom Trouba Myers Morrissey and one of Stu, Postma or Chiarot is a LOT stronger D corps. TUP, I agree, I am not as down on the Stanley pick as some are. He was viewed the best D man available and they moved up and took him. The only player taken after him that I might have taken is Rubstov but he is kind of a wild card. I think Stanley will be a 2D for us but it won't be for 4 or 5 seasons. His ceiling is a #1 shutdown D man but few think he will attain it. I know KBF hates Enstrom but I would re-sign him to a 2 year contract if he agreed to a much smaller salary. 3m a year or something.

They should play him with MP and Armia or Ehlers and MP.
