Fleury will be in the NHL before the season is through and are we forgetting the expansion draft. If you think Staal isn't that good, you are losing credibility fast.

Let's say we could get Staal for Myers (even though we wouldn't), is Fleury not worth Petan and Lowry?

Fleury is a blue chip prospect, you have to pay for that. Staal is a great two way center, you have to pay for that also. Staf for the 2nd and Fleury and Staal for Myers, Petan and Lowry is a steal.

Is an okay #4 if Trouba is playing the left side....if Trouba plays the right side, Myers is our 3rd best RHD with 5.5m of a caphit. We need to lose a D man and I would prefer Enstrom but he has the NMC; thus, we move Myers. If you don't think Fleury pans out and is a bust, you are wrong. He has #1 shutdown D man written all over him. Also, it isn't only the points to consider when talking about a two way center. Staal is 6' 4" and 220 lbs. and one of the best two way centers in the league. How much will Little be making if/when he re-signs?

I'd trade Myers for Fleury in a heartbeat. He is on the 1st year of his contract and will be much better than Myers ever will be. Little is signed for two years at 4.7m per with actual salary of 5m per. We'd be sending around 12m in salary and picking up about 7m.

We have a difference of opinion over who the better player is. Also, Little is signed for 2 more season and Staal for 7. I love Little as a player but I think Staal is the better Center and Little can always go tot he wing if we re-sign him. We lose Lowry, Petan and Myers but we also lose Staf and pick up a 2nd rounder and a VERY good D man. We probably aren't giving up enough now that I think about it more. Myers positino is filled by Trouba and Fleury takes trouba's spot on the left side. Copp replaces Lowry and Petan isn't guaranteed of ever playing with the Jets although I think he will have a career in the NHL.

Canes would dump his big salary and we get one of the best two way centers in the league. We also pick up an almost ready or ready LHD. Would love to see Fleury lined up beside Trouba for the next 8 years. The Canes also get Lowry and Petan who would probably both start as well as Staf and a 2RHD....I think it is pretty fair..... The only way there is room for Myers is if Trouba plays the left side or some one is moved. I would have said Enstrom but he has the NMC.

Whether we make the playoffs depends on three things... Goaltending, special teams, how well the rookies (Laine, Connor, Morrissey?, Lemieux?) and younger players like Amia, Ehlers, and Dano? play. Not sure Dano starts with the team as he can still be sent down. Ehlers, Scheifele, Wheeler, Perreault, Little, Connor, Laine, Stafford, Lowry, Thorbs, Armia, Burmi and Matthias will probably start with the Jets. ESW Laine Little Staf Connor Perreault Armia Matthias Lowry Burmi Thorbs pressbox... unless of course they keep 2 extra forwards and only one extra D man. or something like that.

Hawerchuk thinks Scheif is one of the faster guys in the league right now. Talks about how the scouts were saying he wasn't a good enough skater. Why can't Pavs be bought....not going to happen but they could if they wanted to.

What will the Jets do with Pavs this year? Not what should they do but what WILL they do. AHL? Jets roster? Trade him? Carry 3 goalies? I honestly think he will be sent down.

Hawerchuk 53, MacLean 41, Mullen 32, Boschman 32, Steen 30, and Smail 31. Lukowich wasn't on the team for a full year...he only played 47 games for us. edit... not from memory!

It's a business. He is trying to get as much as he can and the Jets are trying to get him for as little as they can and for as long as possible. Worst case scenario is he signs a bridge but Chevy doesn't have the cap space for nothing. He knew he needed cap space for Scheif, Buff or Ladd and Trouba. Ladd got 7 x 5.5...glad Chevy didn't give him that. I bet Chevy wanted a 5 year deal. What will Ladd look like in 7 years? He is worth it now and will look really good if he plays with Tavares but no thanks. Dano will be on the team or wrapped up in a trade and I am happy with what we got for Ladd. Arguably the best TD move last season.

Wow, I forgot about Mann....talk about a waste of two 1st round draft picks. The Jets iced some awesome teams back in the day. 4th overall in 84-85. Hawerchuk had 130 points (53 goals) and was a 2nd team all-star, 2nd in MVP behind Gretzky. Think about that for a moment... a Jet winning the Hart...when is he going to come home and become part of the team here again? I hadn't heard of the new assistant coach but his resume looks okay and I like that he is under 50. edit... I forgot...they also had six 30+ goal scorers that season.

I can start rumors too. Trouba's butcher's niece's boyfriend told my grandfather's neighbour's carpenter that he is willing to sign for 4m per for 8 years but Chevy wants a one year bridge for 2m!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Ducks haven't re-signed Lindhol or Rakell yet either....anyone remember how late Bogo's and Kane's negotiations went? Chevy is a smart negotiator. The Bolts haven't signed Kucherov either. He scored 110 points in the last two seasons. Guess he is leaving Tampa Bay too.
