Perreault given 4 year extension
Ducky replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Good signing for both parties. MP isn't only a vet, he is a smallish vet that will help the likes of Ehlers, Petan, and the smaller players with the tricks of the trade. He plays like he is 6' 4" though. One of the reasons he never gets an 82 game season. He'd score 50 points if he did. The PP should be interesting this year with Laine on it and the new coach helping out there. Interested to see what both special teams look like this season. EK is such a classy guy, wish he were still here. Buffalo must be happy with him about now. What do you think he is worth now? Not much... -
He definitely needs to put on some weight but I don't see him being built like Scheif although he does have some lower body muscle in the legs. Lots of players are smaller and do well. Do you know how big Mike Bossy was and look at the era he played in and before anyone starts I am not comparing Connor with Bossy (the best goal scorer of all time).
-
The fact that he led the NCAA in scoring by a mile and he was a freshman... his speed is world class... he has one hell of a one-timer and a good wrist shot... Larkin and Eichel didn't do as well as Connor and they both started in the NHL... who do you think makes the team?
-
Ya I read that but I think someone will talk him into going to the OHL. Don't you think it would prepare him better. He wouls probaly center a line with Tkachuk on it too.
-
I don't want Connor on the team if he isn't ready. I just think he is.

I don't think many teams are thinking tank at that time of the year. If things aren't looking too good after the New Year, then I thi nk we see LOTS of young players coming up from the Moose. That might not be a bad thing. Lemieux stands a good chance to make the team I just don't think he will because Laine and Connor will and I think Armia does because he won't clear waivers. Lemieux will be a starter next y;ear if not by the end of the upcoming season. Also, you can only have so much youth on your team and look at the youngsters that are coming up in the system like Roslovic. Armia has less than a year and Copp has a year and Laine and Connor will be rookies. Ehlers has a year and Dano has about a year. I don't think Petan starts with the club but if he does, he doesn't have a year in the NHL. Lowry only has two. That is a lot of young players. This is also why I think Stafford stays until the TD. They will want some veterans around to help keep the kids on an even keel and show them how to be pros. He along with Wheeler and Little and Perreault plus Buff, Enstrom and Myers will try to show the kids how it is done. Scheif will get an "A" if not the "C" and he is a great guy for the youngsters to look up to. Management might not want the kids to play like Staf but I think he prepares himself for the season and the games like a professional. I really like the way the Jets are bringing quality people, on and off the ice, into the team. sidenote... Roslovic (Connor too) is supposed to be really opening some eyes the last day or three. I hope he goes to play with the Knights. I think the OHL will better prepare him for the NHL. I'm betting he ends up going there.

Is that sarcasm or did it go over your head?
-
He would have to be protected for the expansion draft...
-
I think you can add Matthias to that list and Staf if he is still here.
-
Who are you going to play Kyle Connor with Lowry?
-
You didn't see the Jets drafting Laine either...
-
For those of you that think Connor doesn't start with the Jets, did you follow him at all last year? Do you realize he was nominated for the Hobey Baker Award as a freshman and should have won it? Connor starts with the team.

Ehlers-Scheif-Wheeler (Maurice has already said as much) Perrault-Little-Laine (two vets and a rookie) Connor-Burmi-Armia (playmakers and scorers) Copp -Lowry- Dano (a solid 4th line) Staf is traded for whatever you can get for him. We aren't winning the cup this year so give some kids the ice time. Thorbs is in the pressbox. Peluso is wearing antlers. Chiarot Buff Morrissey Trouba Enstrom Myers
-
I am wondering how many players, realistically speaking, have a chance at making the team as a forward. I think it is a lock to say that Scheif Ehlers Little Wheeler Perreault Laine Matthias and Staf will all make the team. That leaves 5 spots (pressbox spot included) on the team. Armia Burmi Lowry Lemieux Copp Connor Tanev Petan Thorbs Peluso are vying for the spots. I think Connor Lowry Burmi Armia and Thorbs makes the team. Bolded goes to the Moose. Did I forget anyone?

That's good to hear. He will make a great 4th liner and maybe 3rd liner one day.

Seems like ha has grown up some. http://www.tsn.ca/radio/winnipeg-1290/lemieux-i-want-to-play-in-the-nhl-1.520906 He has a really good chance of making the team but I think he starts with the Moose.

I'd much rather see hi m playing in the OHL with and against better players....better coaching too. Connor starts with the Jets.
-
just a friendly wager no cash involved. maybe the maybe the loser has to wear a jersey with the Winner's Choice of names on the back or something like that
-
I would rather see him playing with the London Knights
-
I am just wondering if anyone out there would like to make a friendly wager about whether Connor makes the team this year or not.
-
The next coach will be Lapolice.
-
Where is Armia burmi and connor?
-
Making a trade proposal is a bit different than saying one thing and then turning around saying the exact opposite the next day
-
We really need to deal Staf.
-
That's funny because yesterday you wanted them to sign Okposo.
