  1. Be lucky to get a 6th.....would probably have to give a 3rd rounder or so. The Jets will not be able to move him and he will be here for one more year. If a team needs a vet backup at the TD, we might be able to rid ourselves of him.
  2. oops meant Hutch. Hutch will be sent down after TC and the first call up in case of injury and then he is exposed for the expansion draft where we will lose a forward.
  3. This is exactly what I was thinking. Helle goes down and is exposed as for the expansion draft.

  5. you mean an offer sheet?
  6. Should've opened a new thread about it but anyone think Paul MacLean would be a good assistant coach for us this year? Was he responsible for the Ducks' PP last year? Anyone?
  7. Trouba? arbitration? he isn't eligible for arbitration.
  8. As good as Laine will be, the Jets would be far better off with Matthews.
  9. "His numbers are good while dragging around an anchor and shoot up when paired with someone that can actually play the game. He has been playing against the other team's better players and is arguably the best defensive D man on the team. His numbers also would be better if he had more PP time. He is a starting 2nd pairing D man at 22. He has never once complained in public about anything and has ALWAYS stated that he wants to play here. This is a player that could be an assistant captain and leader of your team for years to come. If you do bridge him I will advise him to go through arbitration after that 2 year contract and the Jets will eventually lose him to free agency in no more than 2 years after that. If you bridge him and he plays really well, you won't get him long term and you won't get him for under 6m. Also, you don't have to worry about him in 2 years when Ehlers, Lemieux, Morrissey Petan, De Leo, Kostalek, and Comrie are up as RFAs and Little is up as an UFA." If Trouba gets bridged for 2 years (not gonna happen) and plays lights out paired with Buff or Toby, what is he going to want per year after that contract (when a LOT of other contracts are up)? Get him locked up now and even 6m per in only 4 years will seem like a bargain. How'd I do? Honeslty?
  10. except the draft is before he becomes a free agent...
  11. Which is why you make a deal beforehand with Vegas that they don't take him....also, you might be underestimating the number of D men that will be available. Who do the Isles leave unprotected? The Sens? The Ducks will lose a D man if they don't lose a quality goalie. TVR from the Hawks (possibly Pokka) will probably be picked. Plenty of quality D men will more than likely be available than an old-timer with one year on his contract....I'd bet a low 4th or a 5th to Vegas for not picking Enstrom should do it....there'll a good young forward available for them anyway. Vegas will get two good goalies and some not bad D men.
  12. Offers to our RFAs if I were GM... Lowry gets 2m and 2.25m over two years...Hutch (we need a goalie for the expansion draft) would get 1m per for two years. Armia would be offered 1.5m per for two years. Lipon would be offered 850k per for two years. Tanev? I dunno.....what do you offer a guy at that age that has only played a couple of games. I think he will be a really good PKer and 4th liner for the team but not for the 2016-2017 season. Does he have to clear waivers to be sent down?
  13. I think Trouba pushes for a 6 year or less. Vatanen just signed for 4.75m per so I would guess that Trouba will be north of 5m per. I would give Trouba 48m over 8 years and Scheif 55m over 8 years.
  14. Too much if you ask me...I'm surprised too as I figured he would be the odd man out and you don't think they would trade him if they just signed him.
  15. I can't see Vegas wanting Enstrom when there will be younger D men signed for longer terms for less. Cut a deal, if Vegas wants Armia or Dano or Copp, leave them available. We are going to lose someone anyway and it is going to be a 3-4 line player or a 3rd pairing D man, not the end of the world.
  16. What the Jets could do is ask Enstrom to waive his NMC for the expansion draft. I doubt he would be picked at his salary and only one year left on his contract. Buff, Trouba and Myers protected with Enstrom not protected. Helle Scheif Wheeler Little Lowry Armia Copp Dano...am I missing anyone? We'd probably lose Stu (2.625m caphit with 1.75m actual salary and a leader) or Petan (most likely). MP would be an upcoming UFA so I wouldn't protect him as he would become an UFA right after the expansion draft.
  17. trade of the day... Barzal and Pulock and Hamonic for Myers and Lemieux and Lowry and next year's 1st rounder (lottery protected) or Myers and Perreault and Lowry and Lemieux and 3rd round pick in 2017... Laine Scheif Wheeler Petan Little Armia Connor Barzal Ehlers Burmi Copp Dano Trouba-Buff Enstrom-Hamonic Morrissey-Pulock Pavs Hutch
  18. that's like saying it isn't dark out yet...
  19. http://www.thehockeynews.com/blog/nhl-to-honor-howe-by-creating-a-lasting-tribute-to-his-immortality/ excellent idea...
  20. and if i had suggested the Bickell trade u wud have said no way too....get over it.
  21. the money they free up doesn't HAVE to go towards signing Stamkos but gives them leverage to keep RFAs and maybe sign someone like Okposo or someone in free agency. If they don't sign Stamkos and don't have Carle's contract as a burden, they can do a lot more with their roster.
  22. I think Carle is the next salary dump trade we see. Judging by that trade, Lemieux and Petan are too much for Drouin. The Bolts are in tough with their upcoming RFAs this year. They have 6 or 7 RFAs that need to be dealt with this off-season. Kucerov and Killorn will want serious raises. Then there's Stamkos. I wouldn't re-sign him if I were them (I would for about 6.5m per x 6 years)) but I think Yzerman will go after him hard. I thought this was one of my least far-fetched trades yet...
  23. The Hawks just gave up Teravainen for a 2nd and a 3rd because the Canes took Bickell's salary. Teravainen easily equals Drouin so I guess that trade never should have been made...dumb Canes and Hawks.
  24. The Jets should have made that deal...a cap dump of about 4m for one year and you get a quality forward for a 2nd and 3rd round pick.
