  1. I honestly think our special teams will be vastly improved next year with different personnel on them. They were headed in the right direction towards the end of the year. I'd like to see what Armia, Copp, and maybe even Ehlers can do on the PK after being on it for 3 or 4 months. I don't think Hawerchuk comes here for anything less than an assistant coach. Why would he. His home is where he is now and he isn't hurting for money. He's always said he wouldn't think about coaching in the NHL until his kids were grown. It sure would put a little bit of pressure on Maurice wouldn't it? Nothing wrong with a little pressure if applied properly.
  2. I'm sure Hawerchuk has a clause in his contract to allow him an out if a certain position were available to him....... Send Vincent to the Moose and replace him with Yeo...
  3. Are you really that thick? I've forgotten more about math than you will ever know. Why don't you figure out everyone's chances and compare them? It is possibilities and right now the Jets have the 6th best possible chance of getting a first round pick.
  4. What word did he use ......... was it f%g?
  5. You would get a LOT more for Myers than Enstrom and you would be moving a RHD and not annihilating your left side. Unless we had some quality LHD at the time, if Tobi took 2.5m-3m, I'd re-sign him for 2-3 years when his contract came up. Buff and Tobi are, by far, our best D men. KBF, Let's say we trade Enstrom....our starting LHD are Trouba?-Chiarot-Morrissey/Stuart.......ugh-lee. He is one of our better D men on the PK too.
  6. The course is called MATH ESSENTIALS, I'll kick in 10 bucks towards enrollment costs... TO has the best chance of picking number one, Edmonton has 2nd best chance of picking number one, Van has the 3rd best chance of picking number one, etc.....how hard is that to understand? If the top pick (TO) has a 20% chance of picking number one, wouldn't that suggest that EVERYONE has a better chance at not getting their pick than getting it and that TO would have the best chance of all at it?
  7. Much rather have Enstrom in the lineup than any other LHD not counting Trouba. Look at Stuart, Enstrom is more than 5 times the D man he is and Stuart makes 2.625m per year! How long did it take Maurice to take Stu off of the PK for God's sake. He is, statistically, the worst PKer (in 5 categories he is dead last) in the league. I would be trying to move Myers or Enstrom if we have to protect both of them. If Myers' NMC was honored by the Jets (doubt it), Myers, Buff and Enstrom would all have to be protected. I know that not many on here agree with me but I would move Myers if I had to move one. If I couldn't trade Stu, he'd be playing for the Moose next year and maybe the first D man called up.
  8. TO............Deadmonton has had their chance(s).
  9. Everyone is still talking about trading our best LHD.... let's remember he has an NMC and can't be moved unless he agrees. Who is going to want a D man with 2 years left on his contract that has to be protected in an expansion draft?
  10. He took us into the 3rd period of the first 3 games with a lead......... Lotsa blame to go around for that series' loss..........anyone see how Scheifele was owned by Kesler?
  11. Pavs didn't stand on his head last playoffs but he wasn't horrible...
  12. 2017 starting forwards roster? Ehlers-Scheifele-Wheeler Perreault-Little-Stafford Connor- Petan -Armia Copp-Lowry-Dano
  13. It is going to be a Sutton Hotel and he said it was best that someone in the business take care of it. They sold that parcel of land to the group that are building and running the hotel. The Gaglardi family I think.
  14. I'd be ok with him as 7th/8th but his AAV is 2.625m. Actual salary is 2.7m next season and 1.75m the season after... good pickup for Vegas....a leader and eats up more AAV than he is actually paid.
  15. Going into the 2015 draft no one was sure where Kyle Conner was going to be selected. Some thought he had top 10 talent, whereas others had him as a mid-low first rounder. When Boston passed on him with their three consecutive first-rounders, it really opened things up. Now, just one year after the draft, Conner looks to be the steal of the year at the 17th pick. In his first year of NCAA hockey, Conner posted ridiculous numbers. In 38 games, Conner scored 35 goals, and a total of 71 points. Conner actually scored at a higher points-per-game pace than Jack Eichel did during his first year of NCAA play. With the Jets being in rebuild mode, it shouldn’t be too much of a challenge for Conner to play his way into Winnipeg’s top six. Placing someone with Conner’s high-end puck skills on a line with the likes of Bryan Little, Blake Wheeler, Nikolaj Ehlers or Mark Scheifele is probably a pretty pleasant thought for Jets’ fans out there. With an ELC signed look for Conner to jump into Winnipeg’s lineup and stay there. They can't even spell his name properly? The more I think of it, the more I think Connor will be played with Little, I only hope the other player isn't Staf. I'd like to see him on a line with Armia but doubt that happens. Probably Connor -Little -Staf but would be REALLY happy with Connor- Little -Puljujarvi/Laine. Perreault and Lowry can put up with Staf.
  16. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ possibly the funniest thing I have ever read on here...
  17. Pick 'em, mine are bolded with how many games after. Chi-St. L Hawks 7 Dal-Min Stars 5 Ana-NSH Ducks 6 LA-SJ Kings 5 WSH-Phi Caps 5 Flo-NYI Isles 6 TB-Det TB 6 NYR-Pit Pit 5
  18. Maurice said ESW will be a line next year.
  19. Of course he will, Maurice loves Lowry at 3C.
  20. 2.625m per year is a lot for a Moose player.
  21. so... ESW Perreault Little Staf Connor Matthews Amia Copp Lowry Dano
  22. His want of a long term might be a bigger deterrent for the Jets. I'd give him 12.5 over 3 years or 9.25 over 2 years. MP has trouble playing 82 games.
  23. Matthews decision to play there. He played against men in a pro league and I think Marc Crawford was his coach. (Crawford will probably get a job in the NHL next season) It is debatable if it was the right move but he'll be drafted #1 regardless. I think it was the right move.....only 36 games and playing against men. He would mean SO much to the Jets if we were lucky enough to get him. Ehlers Scheifele Wheeler Connor Matthews Little Amia Perreault Staf Copp Lowry Dano Petan Tanev Lemieux Peluso and Hutch all go to the Moose. Burmi is is the 13th forward and Thorbs is traded. If Staf is moved, Burmi or Lemieux move in. I'd put Lemieux as the 13th forward but I would rather see him get ice time. Trouba Buff Enstrom Hamonic Morrissey Chiarot/Postma Stu and Postma/Chiarot are the 7th and 8th D men. Melchiori is re-signed for 700k per year for 2 years and assigned to the moose. Obviously, Myers + ? has been moved for Hamonic. I'd throw in a 2nd. If this team is a contender in 4 years, Hammer will be in his prime, Trouba will be near it and Morrissey should have 3-4 years under his belt and getting 1st PP time by then. Buff in 4 years? Who knows but I think he will still be an asset to the team and making this tough for opposition players in front of his goalie. Helle 52 games...Pavs 30 games........Hutch called up in an emergency, or Comrie if he is deemed ready. This lineup makes the playoffs next year. Why? They will have better goaltending, better PK and probably have a better PP as this year's has been pretty bad.
  24. Six years doesn't make sense to me......he becomes a free agent at 28 and will demand another huge contract....8 years works much better and Trouba is generally considered to be a bit better than Reilly. People around here don't realize how much Trouba is valued by other GMs. An eight year contract would be 4 years of his UFA so you have to pay extra for that. If it is a bridge, it'll be around 3m-3.25m but if it is a long term, he'll get 5.5m per year minimum, probably more. Same as Scheif. If he signs an 8 year deal, he would get 7m no problem. He'd be 31 when the contract expired. I'd give him 7m per year in an eight year deal without hesitation. A good chance he gets the C this off season but if he doesn't, it'll be his one day for sure.
