Wpg Sun - You be the boss survey
Ducky replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
They come off the books but Dano, Copp, Burmi, and Hellebuyck are all RFAs at that time and Perreault is an UFA. -
8 years for Trouba and 8 years for Scheif. 5.5m for Trouba and 7m for Scheif.
-
Kadri signs 4.5m x 6 years. Reilly signs for 5m x 6 years. Reilly is a comparable player to Trouba so this signing influences Trouba's contract.
-
I wouldn't play him near Staf so who you going to play him with? Not a lot of vets on the team that I would play with Connor....I think he would be great with Perreault and I really think Armia can hold his own. If ESW and Little are for sure in the top six, Maurice also plays Staf in the top 6 maybe Connor plays with Little and Staf/Perreault but I just don't see it and I think we would be stronger with Perreault at 3C. If Maurice starts ESW, and Perreault Little Staf in the top 6 and Connor starts on the bottom 6 (not my choice), the players fighting for bottom the 7 (13th forward) would be Connor Lowry Copp Armia Thorbs (like it or not) Burmi Petan Lemieux Dano and Tanev...... that 's 10 players if you omit Peluso and count Connor. Am I missing anyone? Out of them you would think that Connor Lowry Dano Thorbs Burmi Copp and Armia make it...apologies to Petan and Lemieux. For the sake of argument, let's say Copp plays with Dano and Burmi, that leaves Connor with Lowry and Armia? If we draft top 3 and a Finn or AM starts, then what? Glad I don't have to figure out this mess but I think Staf needs to be moved so the youngsters have more playing time. Lowry Copp Dano would make a good 4th line.

The Jets have about 20m in salary cap space. Scheifele, Lowry, Trouba, Armia, Hutch, Tanev, Melchiori and Lipon are RFAs. The bolded will probably be on the big team next year and their salaries will count towards the cap. Scheif 7 m Trouba 3 m Lowry 1.5 m Armia 1.5 m Leaves them 7m under the cap.........seems like it's too high. -
Thorbs should be the 13 forward at best... I think he would take the role like a true pro and handle it properly. It'll be interesting to see who Maurice plays with Connor. I know it would depend a lot on the draft but putting him on a line with Perreault as the center wouldn't hurt. Connor Perreault Armia?
-
"Cape Breton forward is Central Scouting's top-rated North American skater." Emphasis on North American.
-
Ya, methinks the Moose will be a better team next year. Chevy siad if there is a Perreault-like player available, they would be interested but I don't think Chevy will be trading for any top 6 help to be honest.

Read a few other forums, people dump on Stu ALL the time with valid reasons. He is a liability and I would rather see Melchiori or Chiarot start ahead of Stu but that won't happen. He'll probably play out his contract here or be traded at the TD in his last year. As Rich mentioned, he has 2 more years left after this season so a TD deal next year isn't likely. Stu is a defensive minded D man and the only other one we have is Trouba and Buff to an certain extent. Morrissey doesn't replace Stu........Chiarot or Postma maybe but I can't see Maurice sitting Stu.
-
What I think Maurice will do..... Ehlers Scheifele Wheeler Connor Little Staf Perreault Lowry Armia Tanev Copp Dano What I would do... Ehlers Scheif Wheeler They were dominant late this season Connor Little Armia Little and Armia are strong enough defensively and Connor adapts fast Copp Perreault Dano I think this could be a really good line after they play together for 20 games or so Lemieux/Petan Lowry Dano This line could see 11-12 minutes a game Staf is gone and so is Burmi...Tanev and Petan/Lemieux and Peluso are on the Moose and Thorbs is riding the pine.
-
I've been harping about Stuart all year and been getting the gears about it..........getridofhimalready.....just a horrible, horrible D man.
-
I would like to see Copp, Lowry and Lemieux on the 4th but which one plays RW?
-
They'd have a valid argument after this past season.
-
Exactly......I'd absolutely love to see a stud like OEL here but he is only signed for 3 more years and we would have control of Matthews for a minimum of 7 years. For 1st overall it would have to start with Dylan Strome AND OEL or I would say no thanks. Dano, Stuart, Staf and 1st overall for OEL, Strome, and their 1st overall in 2017 and we probably still aren't getting enough. Dogs add Merkley... Not sure about Trouba's off season workouts but he spent last summer working out every day with Blake Wheeler in Florida where they both live in the summer. I'd trade him in a deal with TO for Reilly + ? but would rather keep him.
-
He has 6 more years at 7m per year. The Sens can keep him.
-
What I like about him is that he knows how to play D........the Jets need a D man that isn't concerned about his points.........something like Hamonic.

Phaneuf was traded.........
-
If that is directed at me, I don't consider Chiarot a top 4 D man and not sure who he was paired with (Stu for a couple of games) when he played RHD....Trouba has struggled a bit on the left side...ideally, Maurice would rather have him play the right side......
-
If they get a good price for Hutch, he is gone.........they would ship Pavs for less but harder to trade and only 1 year left anyway.
-
PLD but if he isn't available and Tkachuk is, it would be a really hard decision.............I'd probably go with Chychrun.
-
I should also say that for a team that did as poorly as the Jets did this season, I think they were graded slightly high.....no, not me their grades.
-
Melchiori deserves at least a C+. Called up with no experience to talk about and has played well. Was cutting down on D zone mistakes the more he played...unlike another D man I won't mention....seems to play with a bit of an edge too.... I would much rather see Melchiori as a 3rd pairing D man than Stuart but I think our 3rd pairing D man should be Chiarot and I think Chiarot > Melchiori > Stuart..... Chiarot would be adequate as a 3rd D man if he played like he did the last 15 or so games. Give TO our pick if it is 8th or 9th and Myers for Reilly. Even if we have to sweeten the deal it would be a huge improvement for our back end and he was drafted same year as Trouba and is debatably about as good.....(is debatably a word?).... Buff, Trouba, Enstrom, Reilly, Morrissey and Postma/Chiarot would make up a really nice D corps. Frosty gets promoted to a newly created position in the organization that only answers to Chipman....he oversees everything..........Chipman calls him The director and has a camera crew follow him around as Frosty steers Chevy and his staff in the right direction for their first Stanley Cup in 2018-2019. Nobody can keep up with the team and they are mentioned in the same breath as the 80s Oilers and 50s and 70s Habs.... The team goes on to win its 6th cup in a row breaking records along the way....Captain Scheifele (Art Ross Winner for the 4th straight year) says the team has the Allstar goaltending duo of Helle/Comrie plus the twin 50 goal scorers of Ehlers and Connor as well as MVP Matthews and 6 time Norris winner Trouba to thank for their dynasty.......Everyone calls Winnipeg Winnerpeg without even realizing it.....a movie comes out about Frosty called "Shenkarow couldn't Run a team if His Life Depended On It" and it goes on to set records at the Oscars. Frosty wins for Best Producer and Best Director........tragedy befalls the team as of this writing as the team was taken to South America by Chipman and Thomson as a reward for winning the cup and their plane goes missing over the Andes.........everyone still has hope that they are still "Alive".

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2630697-2016-nhl-mock-draft-full-round-1-projections-for-every-team This one has us picking Chychrun but PLD is still available??????? PLD will probably go 4th or 5th.

I've asked this question before and nobody that says it doesn't matter what hand he shoots has answered....... How many starting top 4 D men are playing there off side on 5v5?
