Hurl may have been brought in to start at a LB spot, but that was also before Westerman, and ultimately, Waggoner, were on the roster. Things change.

I can agree with all that, and I was surprised he was even being put in the middle, to be honest. My original thought was, if he is indeed close to Allen (or any other import) he would get the spot due to birth certificate. I don't really have a preference outside of wanting the best guy there. I respect your opinion Booch, I know your background and I know you don't blindly throw out opinion.

Saw him on TV, and assuredly not isolating his play. You formed an opinion based on limited information and are sticking by it, I have no doubt about that. He may not work out, but let's not throw out "I saw him play" and attach career defining significance to it.

I really do hope Hurl is legit enough to beat out the IMP competition. That would be so much better than just forcing a NI into the starting lineup so we can make ratio. I liked what Hurl did in Saskatchewan last year. I thought he was playing pretty respectably. The Rider offence is what really let their team down last year. That defence was perpetually on the field and still played well....Hurl included. I agree with that. He is also still a younger guy going into his best years.

@Tburgess--you have clearly decided Hurl is not an option based on assumptions not based in fact. So maybe actually wait to see it play out.

He probably will get a settlement. His career is done, can't imagine another team rolling the dice and having him get hit by a meteor or something in camp.

Lawless definitely writes stuff worthy of criticism. However, at least as of late, it seems like he gets some insider info and runs with it. Wiecek just doesn't know enough to go beyond the superficial, and probably doesn't care enough to do so.

The guy is just injury prone. He was never going to stay healthy enough to make the team, let alone make an impact. I remember how high KFAN was on him making the Vikes. Then he blew out both knees on the same play with no contact. Feel bad for him, but he just has devastating luck.
