  1. Never been more grateful that Sir Vincent Rogers turned us down leading to the signing of Stanley Bryant.
  2. I wonder if they weren't sure how to handle it after the MBT situation. The season is over for Whitehead but TSN may have been unsure if he was allowed to attend major sports events. So they decided not to say anything.
  3. It hit the turf. Zero doubt about that. Not sure what explanation they would have had for not overturning it other than not have the balls to do it.
  4. Glad we survived that one. Game was a lot more stressful than it needed to be. Winnipeg should have won the game by 30 points. Im personally not too worried about the turnovers going into the next game. This is what happens when you don't play a meaningful game in 5 weeks and get injected into a bad weather playoff game against a team that was coming off an intense playoff victory. They weathered the storm and should be locked in from the opening kickoff of the next game.
  5. Im cheering also for Toronto. Winnipeg played sloppy and lost to them in a meaningful game. Hamilton if they win they get the crowd behind them and homefield advantage and likely a high level of motivation to avenge their defeat last year. I would imagine if its Winnipeg and Toronto the Hamilton crowd would favor Winnipeg.
  6. Im not convinced Purifoy will be an option. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/riders-restaurant-assault-1.6268302
  7. Im not exactly counting snaps. However, if Sayles did these numbers in 30% of snaps imagine what kind of numbers he would have with 70% of snaps. He's a real up and comer.
  8. Enough to put up significantly better stats than Micah Johnson.
  9. The only allstar nod that i find troubling was Micah Johnson over Casey Sayles.
  10. It wouldn't take much for him to be a better option that either of our backup qbs. That's why it's appealing.
  11. From Bob Irving on Twitter. "Chris Streveler gets cut by Arizona, creating a lot of interesting chatter in the Blue Bomber inner sanctum. IF Streveler clears NFL waivers & IF he would even be interested in bringing his 2019 Grey Cup fur coat back to Wpg, there are no rules prohibiting the Bombers signing him." What I'm reading into this is that the bombers have discussed it internally and would be interested. Like he knows they have talked about it and they told him that there are no rules preventing it.
  12. I thought we were trying to give him reasons to come back not to stay away.
  13. I don't see it. There will be too many good options out there. The only team that doesn't have a starter I'd Ottawa and you've got Dane Evans or Masoli available and one of Montreals qbs.
  14. If we could sign him this week I feel like he could be ready to help the team for the next game. A small package with Streveler would be better than any of our other backups.
  15. I don't really see a future for him in thr nfl. I'm hopeful we can sign him as our back and future starter.
  16. I suggested that he may have the other intangibles. Just was stating that based on the measurables and the lack of production i'm not sure what they see in him. I would love nothing more than for him to be the next Cahoon/Denmark type of guy. Maybe he will be.
  17. I think the bombers released Roosevelt because they became very satisfied with Kelvin McKnight for whatever reason. Not sure what the see in the guy. He's short and doesn't have elite speed. Maybe he's got all the right intangibles.
  18. What are the playoff records of the teams who didn't make the playoffs.
  19. I grew up in Calgary and went to games and listened to games on the radio. From the GameDay announcer to the radio guys there was always a level of arrogance that goes well beyond anything I've found in other markets. I get that you are broadcasting to the local audience and the focus of the broadcasts is going to be from a Stamps perspective. But there was never a need for such arrogance.
  20. I agree with you that it's a highly unlikely scenario. I just am pointing out that I don't lose sleep worrying about our QB's free agency status. If Zach for some reason decided to leave Winnipeg we could basically pick from a good group of available quarterbacks who would love to play in Winnipeg.
  21. I think its pretty unlikely that Michael Reilly leaves BC. But in a world where Collaras was to lets say leave for BC and Reilly was available I think there could be a fit in Winnipeg. He's been getting beaten up in BC and isn't getting any younger. He could sign for the most money which is typically with the worst team or he could take less money and play in Winnipeg. In a good situation he can win championships, protect his body for life after football and gets more years out of his career. I hope for his sake that BC either improves around him or he ends up somewhere where he is going to be protected.
  22. I'm not too worried about Zach being a free agent. He's a good qb. The team is benefitting from him and he is benefitting from the team. He's not going to go to some team where he won't be able to stay healthy. And if he does there will be plenty of qbs available who will find the job in Winnipeg appealing.
  23. I will admit I'm somewhat surprised that Chevy was publicly exonerated of any wrongdoing given the current climate. I think that Don Fehr needs to step down because he was supposed to warn hockey USA and did not. I always felt that if anyone at that meeting was going to keep their job it was Chevy since he was not in a senior management position and the initial report from this meeting was not of a sexual assault. It was a report of a coach coming onto a player but that nothing more than that happened. At that time the victim was seemingly not comfortable sharing the full story and that is completely understandable. Chevy's involvement was limited to being at the meeting and most of the people who were at the meeting didn't even remember that he was there. Senior management needed to be fired and so did Joel Quenneville. It was reported that he had spoken up and suggested that the team couldn't handle this type of distraction so they should wait until after the playoffs to deal with it. I also have a very hard time believing that ownership was never made aware of the situation.
  24. Hopefully Provencher doesn't get a second seat.
  25. I don't have a problem with a climate tax. Id just prefer that it was implemented differently. I don't think there should be any additional tax applied to the use of alternative energy like hydro electricity. We should be also subsidizing the use of alternative energy. Like electric vehicles and solar panels ect. Rather than giving it directly back to people.
