2021 Blue Bombers Training Camp/Pre-Season Stuff
Colin Unger replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
For this season a 2nd global player would need to take a DI spot. However, i've looked at the rules regarding CFL rosters and it doesn't state that a CFL team must start "X" number of players. It does state something about how a DI must come in for a Import starter. The rules don't indicate that a global must come in for an American starter. Did anything pay close enough attention in 2019 during the times that Hansen was on the field to know this one for sure? I sure didn't! -

Chris Larsen was released after his incident but he's now been completely cleared of any wrong doing. He might be an option to bring in. -

What do you guys know about Sam Williams? This aptly named DB played a few games for the Riders back in 2017 at Sam linebacker. I wonder was he released and bounced around or was this a guy who tried some of the other leagues? -

Yeah not to mention Hansen who can come in for a Canadian or an American. So that's effectively 3 solid players and only need one on the field at a time. -
https://3downnation.com/2021/07/08/edmonton-tackle-colin-kelly-suffers-torn-pec-in-training-out-three-to-five-months/ Colin Kelly who I believe is Edmonton's right tackle starter is out 3 to 5 months with a torn pec.

Given there is no preseason I wonder if they don't use one of those di's to take a look at players over the coarse of the first few weeks. -

Assuming Leggy is going to be our kicker/punter how do we see the extra DI being used? A linebacker to improve special teams or a defensive end? -

Maybe we are holding out to see what happens with Streveler. He's going to be in tough to stick in the NFL this year. Never know with a guy like Medlock and his relationship with Oshea. Maybe he's will to come out of retirement if Liegghio struggles. -

These kind of guys rarely make an impact in the CFL. If he can stay healthy and comes into camp with the right mindset he could be the one that actually works out. Still think its tough for him to crack the starting lineup. He would have to beat out Bailey. -
It was kind of funny. This church made a big deal out of religious oppression (which is a joke) and planned to go forward with a service with no capacity limits. It turned out not enough of the flock decided to show up so they ended up being below the 25% capacity mark. I think also that the media doesn't need to cover this stuff because it ends up making national headlines and extreme libertarians across the country are emboldened by it.

What i mean is once we are past this situation and people are no longer being forced to stay home for a year an a half and have their freedoms back there will be an improvement in mental health and the paranoia that comes with it.
-
One thing that doesn't get enough coverage is all the people who have left a certain church in Steinbach that decided to disobey health orders.

Interesting that we got Liegghio with the pick we got from Toronto in the Collaras deal. If he ends up being as good as he's supposed to be we basically got Collaros for nothing as and elite canadian kicker is worth a first round pick. With our offensive line we have nothing to worry about. Augustine is nothing special to me but he can still put up big yards with this line. Augustine hits the hole hard and has some nice acceleration. Even Andrew Harris has benefitted from this offensive line compared with how he was in BC. -
Its really a shame that there are elderly who are choosing not to be vaccinated. Think of the elderly who died before the vaccine was an option. Its a shame they weren't given the opportunity some of the current elderly are passing up. I know Kyle personally. Used to be my next door neighbor. He seems to be handling the situation with maturity. This will all pass with time.

In this case its some wacky paster from Winnipeg who is between churches. He's trying to use the whole anti-mask movement to grow a flock, start a new church, and make some money.
-
I will get rid of the mask once I'm fully vaxxed and health orders allow for it. Can't wait for the mask mandate to be gone so we no longer need that pastor from Winnipeg bringing all his Winnipeg friends to Steinbach for an anti mask rally. But if I was taking a bus every day I'd probably bring a gas mask!
-
That would require masks and social distancing. So not sure Winkler would go for it. ‐----‐---------------- Are you guys aware of any other province or state who had to send so many people out of state or province for medical care due to overloaded icu capacity?
-
Morden rates are pretty good but they have a super site and Winkler not. People from Winkler don't go to Morden but people from morden come to Winkler so it was a strange decision. Winkler also has an issue of being dominated by less progressive Mennonites than you see in Steinbach. I'm hoping that after my brother's idea of creating "I've been vaccinated" stickers in low German as well was adopted by the Manitoba government it will help improve vaccination rates particularly amongst elderly Mennonites. My understanding is that Winkler had quite a few people who literally think that covid 19 doesn't exist. You won't win these people over. We should have built more hospitals years ago. Manitoba's inadequate Healthcare capacity is really exposed under pressure. I'd rather have two tiered health than one inadequate tier.
-
I'm not endorsing anything. At some point we will face the reality that some people are never going to be vaccinated and Im just suggesting that It probably won't be that big of an issue so long as the larger urban center of Winnipeg has high vaccination rates. Im not promoting anything. Just trying to have a conversation about realities. I mean.. One day the vaccinated will have to learn to live together with the unvaccinated heathens.
-
You're never going to see rural area having higher vaccine rates than urban areas. My hope is that Steinbach can reach 70% fully vaccinated which is alot better than most other areas of southern manitoba. Also better than pretty much any American state. I think Canada and Manitoba are going to end up being world leaders in vaccination rates. And that will be to our benefit as the last thing we need is another lock down. It's time to start enjoying life again. I find it funny that my anti Vax friends are all of a sudden worried about an extremely rare risk of complications. I tell them I'm getting vaccinated because I want to live my life and if it kills me it kills me. Same thing they've been saying about the virus but somehow they are now changing their mentality.
-
I've got my first dose and my second dose scheduled. I'm very pro Vax. Let's not get this twisted. Steinbach Vax rate has steadily climbed since we got a super site in town and they are always fully booked.
-
Are they trying to hire someone who may know how to use Laine?

For anyone on the fence about the Vaccine.....
Colin Unger replied to Chaosmonkey's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Stuff like this will only harden anti vaxxers. It will help motivate those who aren't against getting vaccinated but simply haven't gotten around to it. -
No. The police exonerated him. Just was spotted at the wrong place wrong time.
-
The thing Is that once the majority of manitoba is doubled vaxxed it probably won't matter as much that a place like Winkler has low double vaccine rates. Where is it gonna come from?
