  1. Im sure he will. But its still going to be a downgrade from actually doing it yourself. If that worked just as well he would have been doing it already as OC.
  2. The other factor might be what they are willing to accept. I could see Kongbo being willing to take a deal with no signing bonus and eventually a practice roster role to start the season and develop for a period of time. Whereas I don't see Jefferson going down without a significant signing bonus and in a scenario where he has a good chance of at least being on the active roster. Kongbo far more likely to sign in NFL IMO. Jefferson had NFL interest last year but had some high demands because he didn't want to just be a training camp body.
  3. Did anyone else watch the monday nighter? Couldn't help but notice that Blue Bomber neg lister Greg Ward was getting pretty good volume in the game. He's the guy we got from the Stamps in exchange for DE Patrick Choudja. Ward has been seen as a raw athlete who is a developmental project for the Eagles but with all the injuries he's been getting playing time. He definitely runs a nice post route and has speed. He dropped a fairly difficult touchdown pass when he was distracted by a defensive back who jumped in and may have bumped his head slightly. He looks like a pretty good CFL prospect should he not take his career a step further in the NFL.
  4. He still doesn't seem to exude confidence the way O'Shea does. Whether it is true or not Joe Mack stated that he already had concerns with Lapo's leadership abilities even when they went to the Grey Cup. After that season several players had voiced concerns about it according to Mack. But because they went to the Grey Cup they decided they had to stick with him. He's a very good offensive co-ordinator but I'm not sold on him being the leader of a team. It's one thing to get respect in the offensive co-ordinator position when they got to respect him or they will hear about it from Mike O'Shea. Its another thing to be the top dog yourself and command that respect. I also think that he calls plays from the booth for a reason. He isn't as effective as an offensive co-ordinator when he is wearing multiple hats and is calling plays from the sidelines.
  5. Yeah.. BC is a good situation for him. They struggled last season. He gets to go into a situation with a top CFL passer and if he can turn things around he will look good for a head coaching job in a couple years.
  6. I think it will be fine for us even though Lapo is a good offensive co-ordinator. Buck could potentially take things to the next level. He's learned the system and collected as much information from LaPolice as he could. My one knock on Lapo is that he's not really a QB developer in my mind. He's had all the success he's had when he's had an experienced quarterback. Unlike Buck he's a guy who didn't really play the game or at least not at any high level. Buck played the game and in his day was a pretty good QB himself. I think if you combine his experience as a player where he has a natural edge over Lapo and everything he's gleaned as an assistant he has the potential to take things to the next level. Only time will tell though. I have to feel like there still was some bad blood between Lapo and Bombers management for not allowing him to interview for the Riders job because he basically took the job that nobody would have wanted. Going to Ottawa an organization who allowed a GM to put the head coach in an unwinnable situation and then they chose Desjardins over a good coach in Campbell. They are becoming the new Montreal the way i see it.
  7. It's also possible that Winnipeg uses a DI spot for Chris Streveler would allow them to have Streveler on the field with another QB behind center. If I'm Buck im watching a lot of Taysom Hill game film.
  8. Even though it was the right move to play Nuefeld over Gray at this time i think Nuefeld is likely to move on this offseason. Bombers have to sharpen the pencils and they have quite a few young offensive lineman include Desjarlais who ended up starting down the stretch and is a lock to start again next season. Gray ready to start at right guard and Speller at center. Eli a backup and then we draft another guy this year. I see this as an area we look to shed some cap space.
  9. Not just that he deserves at least a 3 year extension.
  10. I’m not a big Nichols fan but the way the defense played in all three playoff games and what Streveler added in his role it think your average Nichols type of performance would have been more than enough to win the cup with him. Certainly Collaros is the better of the two quarterbacks though.
  11. Not sure what the league could have to say about it. Winnipeg literally can talk contract with him all they want leading up to Feb 15th.
  12. Yeah. Can’t wait to see to see him demonstrate all the football he’s got left as a member of the Redblacks.
  13. Any chance we can pull a fast one on Toronto and trade Zach’s early negotiating right Zach to Ottawa without having to give up the first round pick? But seriously I think we need to take a good hard look at re-signing Zach. He seems like a good fit. He’s a much better quarterback than Matt Nichols and with Streveler coming in a lot and a great offensive line and running game Winnipeg might be the only team that can keep Zach healthy. If we don’t bring back Zach I think we need to go after Arbuckle. I just don’t see the upside to Matt Nichols who has all the injury concerns you would get with Zach but without the top end ability that he has.
  14. No matter what happens to his career in the future he will always be a part of Blue Bombers Grey Cup lore!
  15. How long until something else in life matters?
  16. I was 8 years old and cocky.. Thinking they would win several in the 90's alone!
  17. I didn't see it coming but i was literally driven to tears and so was my whole family. I can't believe it. This is what it feels like guys!!! Lets build a dynasty!!!!
  18. I can't imagine where he would go to. Honestly which CFL team is going to offer him a starting job? Teams looking for a qb. Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa. Qb's to fight over.. Masoli, Bethel-Thompson, Arbuckle, Nichols, Collaras, and Streveler. I just don't see a starting job being out there for him this coming season.
  19. Im hoping we bring back Streveler next season and dress him as DI when the league drops from 3 to 2 qbs. That way he can play qb and also rb/fullback. Have him and "the other qb" on the field at the same time with Harris. Could really give teams fits.
  20. Was nice to see the Canadian Mafia eliminate the entire Dickenson clan!
  21. Im not familiar enough with the specifics on that rule. But it was clearly a situation where he did a check swing on that throw and then it fumbled. It was not an intended throw. After not overturning a clear over the line of scrimmage play earlier it was blasphemy to overturn this call. #hottakes
  22. I need to proof read. Was trying to say that I don’t think they can’t beat the riders in any weather condition with the combination of Streveler and Collaros. Streveler alone would give me cause for pause though.
  23. Not convinced Winnipeg can defeat the Riders is any number of weather conditions so long as they've got the combination of an experienced passer and Streveler. The game we really need to be affected by weather would be the Grey Cup vs Hamilton.
  24. I don't know how to fully express how much of a satisfying feeling that game provided. To win and blowout Calgary in Calgary with Bo playing was so satisfying. Can't remember the last time we beat the teams in a playoff game? I've had ill will towards them since the 1992 Grey Cup loss when we should have pulled Dunigan a lot earlier. Bring on Harker!!!
