Ottawa Redblacks In Town Part 2
Colin Unger replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I don’t see JJ doing all that well in this style of offense. I don’t think he makes his reads quick enough. I’d send the best early and often and see how he handles it. -
They have to also punish the team with fines and draft picks for such a scandal.
-
Not surprised by this.. They seemed to have an unlimited amount of funds to spend on players and also some team losses that were so large that it seemed fishy to me.

XFL?

Andrew Harris and Nichols didn’t play well. But we rode the overall talent of this team to a relatively easy win against potentially our biggest threat in the West. This could be a remarkable Blue Bombers team. -
Clearly there were some teams who were not all that interested in him who fed some BS to 3downnation hoping that whoever ended up with him would over pay. If he was a top 15 calibre player in this past year's draft I think we would have seen a team propose a 2nd round pick for him. At least 5 CFL teams didn't think he was worthy of a 3rd round pick.
-
This is why he's such a great blocker. He can see multiple defenders coming from multiple directions at the same time!
-
Yeah Im concerned a bit about our defense. Our defense is predicated on having all the money up in the front 7. We will get a lot of pressure but against a quick timing offense like this you have to have good coverage early on in the play so I guess we will have to wait and see what happens. Key is to chew clock on offense and score points and keep the Edmonton offense on the sidelines and put them in a position to have to press.
-
Wood you guys stop that!
-
Yeah but that's the problem with paying so much for a quarterback.. I see BC as being similar to Edmonton last year. Reilly will put up some big numbers but at the end of the year they will as a team be lucky to make the playoffs.
-
BC wasn't the biggest test for our young offensive lineman. But man were they dominant and impressive. When you see guys like Willis complaining and getting mad at the refs for all the little things these offensive lineman are getting away with its just a really good sign. There will be bigger tests out there than BC but this group is only going to get better and they absolutely dominated BC on the inside run. Am i the only one who wants to see Nuefeld take his time in getting healthy and maybe remain in a backup role even then?

The thing that worries me is when O'Shea goes dark on a Pat Neufeld injury who knows how long the guy could be out. He could be week to week for the whole season. I guess Winnipeg is gonna use this game to evaluate Gray, Speller, Couture and if need be start an american guard in week 3 after the bye.
-
No Matthews or Neufeld in week 1. According to Bob Irving the bombers just made this official.
-
According to the Lions depth chart they've got Boyko starting at right tackle in his first CFL game. Reilly's really going to have to have a quick release in this game.
-
At what point is the Bomber depth chart due?
-
The Riders are who we thought they were.

My mistake. Mixed up my mother's maiden name (Bergman) for the correct Bergen. Either way it's mennonite af!
-
I will let him know. Glad you're enjoying it. It was recently referenced in the House of Commons when Candice Bergman made a speech about establishing a Mennonite Heritage Week in Canada.
-
I thought he was pretty dominant when he was a corner. But as a halfback is a completely different level of challenging in the CFL and he's really dropped back down to earth in that role.
-
This is great. Not sure if you're aware of the site but my brother operates a pretty funny Mennonite satire site called dailybonnet.com.
-
Oba Yo!
-
What's nice right now is that we have the possibility to start 8 Canadians. Perhaps once Kongbo is healthy we can look at always have a Canadian in on the defensive line and starting an American based safety.
-
Bob Irving isn't getting any younger.
-
Not the news i was looking for here. Actually not too worried about Neufeld because id like to see both Gray and Speller in there but would really like to see our complete receiving core out there this week.
