Game Day Thread - League Opener: Eskies
Colin Unger replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Not sure I would hold the second pick against him all that much either. It was on a two point convert. And interception is no worse than an incompletion or sack in that situation. That’s the time you through one up and hope for the best if you’re under pressure or not seeing anybody open. -

Any time a college qb starts game one and throws 3 touchdowns you have to give the offensive coordinator a lot of the credit. I just didn’t like the play calling on that final drive. Streveler needed to act like a real quarback and throw the ball downfield or else Edmonton would have kept loading the box like they did early in the game. -

I like how we were pretty aggressive with Streveler however with a minute twenty on the clock after a poor kickoff return there's no excuse for not keeping the ball on the ground and keeping the clock running. That 2 and 0 killed us there. You run on first and run a draw play on second. If you make a big play then you go more aggressive. You don't leave Edmonton the maximum amount of clock there. -
Personally I'd like to see us put Fenner at halfback once Mo is back. It was very evident that Gaitor doesn't have the height/vertical out there and at least Fenner is 6'1... That game made we wish we had kept Saisay around.

Some how Alex Ross still managed to heavily contribute to the loss. -

I would prefer to see Augustine back there. We need to do everything we can to keep Demski healthy and starting in our receiving core. -

Would we not need one more to sit as well? Either Roh, Wilson, or lankford? -

No. He had always been on the main roster. -
You could if you named 4 defensive lineman as regular imports. Whether or not Conrey was the first rush end you rolled out there would be a moot point. Am i wrong about this? Or would you literally need to have the 4 american defensive lineman on the field for the first play of the game?

I don't feel any different either way about my team. It's just that I don't trust Jones as a human being.
-
And you're reason for trusting Jones is what now?

Dressler said he wasn’t approached about reducing his salary.

Can you post a screenshot. I honestly couldn’t find that on the website.

According to 3downnation he wasn’t offered a practice roster spot. -

Medlock was already considering retirement this season. So if he's truely close to retirement lets let FMB punt and have him learn each day in practice from Medlock so he can take over all 3 duties when Medlock retires. -

It was a beautifully executed fade route. He also was just out of bound on the 2 point convert. I'm not surprised he made it. He looks tough and physical and can also make big plays. Some guys don't look so good in practice but when the physicality comes into play they stand out more. -
Yeah.. He didn't look off the charts by any means. He is still really struggling to read anything further down field. He typically attempts a short pass or rolls and tries to make something happen. Alex Ross looks like the better of the two quarterbacks right now.

I’m not interested in talking about players from back in the days before the current regime has had time to build up depth and talent. Nichols has only missed 1 game so far. Zach Collares and Drew Willy are much more injury proned at this point. Jennings has had injury problems as well.
-
Which players are you referring to. Outside of Neufeld not sure what to make of what you’re saying.
-
I still like Alexandre as a corner. He struggled as a halfback today. I say Gaitor and Leggett as halfbacks and Alexander as the corner opposite Randle.

TSN's commentary is an embarrassment. On the play where Seisay got an accidental pass interference when his foot contacted the feet of the receiver the commentator literally said the BC receiver had a step if not for the penalty. How the heck do you have a step when your feet literally contact the DB's feet????
