True.. But he had nothing to work with. Was mostly playing with scrubs who couldn't even snap to a shotgun. He showed promise but yah its not something that would transfer to starting a whole game versus a starting defense. He was running a limited offense and was not taking any risks by the looks of it. He sure has the physical attributes though.

Will Streveler Be Our James Franklin?
Colin Unger replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
The coaching staff needs to decide if we are going to give Streveler a serious opportunity to be the 2nd string qb despite coming straight out of Compton.... errr College. If they feel like there's no way they're are going to put a rookie in that role then I don't think he should get any reps in the next game. Nichols should play at least a quarter and give Ross and Bennett the rest of the game. However, if they would be open to having Streveler as the backup then I'd give him heavy reps in the game because every rep is gonna be valuable in getting him ready to potentially start games later on in the season. At this point, I hope we keep 4 qb's around. Bennet with his injury would be easy to put on the injured list so he doesn't take a dev spot away from one of many individuals who deserve a job which isn't available. -
Game Day: Edmonton @ Winnipeg (Pre-Season) June 1, 2018

Kienan Lafrance better get his tail out of the tub. -
Yeah.. At that kind of money I think he sticks. I'm fine with a linebacking core of Fenner/Leggett, Bighill, and Wild to start the season. We can DI Santon Knox to begin the season. Good teams have depth.
-
For those who are concerned about the stats Alex Ross put in limited duty last season I wouldn't worry too much about it. His two picks came during garbage time in games where the lions were being blown out and he was basically just putting deep passes up and there hoping something would happen.

Anyone going to the game who can livestream via thier cellphone?
-
If we had a former Heisman qb on our roster they'd be carrying both games.
-
I'm hoping we keep 4 qbs around. Basically everyone except Mahoney.
-
Just ask Korey Banks about that. The coach will make the moves he feels give the team he best chance to win.

I’m posting this to show how horrible cfl media types are at making predictions. https://www.cfl.ca/2017/01/02/crystal-ball-6-bold-predictions-for-2017/

I think he's been going Green with Duron.

Rod Peterson was on AM1290 this morning. He was asked about the Bighill pickup and whether he still predicts that the bombers will finish 5th in the West. He said it didn't change anything he still thinks Winnipeg will finish 5th because he's not a believer in Matt Nichols. LOL... So this guy is more of a believer in a washout like Zach Collaros over a guy who has had consistent success for 2 and half season in a row in Winnipeg and only had weapons added to his arsenal!

I agree with you. Hopefully we can find a way to keep all this talent around as we will have some athletes who deserve to be on the active roster who simply won't be.
-
I don’t nessisarily think that’s true. I always thought it was weird that they were just handing jobs to Ross and Streveler. I hope Bennet replaces Mahoney and we keep 4 qbs around long term and develop these guys. With the limited experience behind Nichols I like having another guy around who could potentially be a 2nd string option this season.
-
We gotta show him we aren’t the rough riders organization. Plus, he’s still a good player. When he’s healthy he is still a 1000 yards per 18 guys and a great leader. Hopefully he doesn’t have to take as many hits this year with Bowman and Demski on the team.
-
I just thought it was a good series of clips of a guy that had signed with the bombers. I had nothing to do with the choice in soundtrack. I figured if somebody didn’t like it they can just turn off the volume. I was a teenager when I started ourbombers and my dad is a minister who visited the site. I guess I felt a pressure to keep things pg. I pressure I no longer feel at a 36 year old.

Its pretty amazing to see the sheer volume of receivers in camp with NFL experience. There's going to be a lot of guys who are surprised when they get cut from the CFL. Can't see there really being more than 2 or 3 dev roster spots open to new import receivers and the starting lineup is locked down with Adams, Dressler, and Bowman.

I think the main reason Thomas wasn’t brought back until now was to create an opportunity of growth for Faith. Giving the circumstances around the return of Thomas, Faith shouldn’t have much of an issue with looking over his shoulder too much.
-
I’m not saying they “will” do it just saying that it is something they have in their back pocket. The fact is that it’s only a matter of time before they do. Elaiketie wasn’t drafted first overall not to become a starter. But for the time being it will likely be 4 imports within Corney and Faith rotating in. However, depending on performance of faith they may give that a go at some point in the season. Marouf may be a really good player and he has potential the team wanted to develop but I’d be more comfortable with a vet line Thomas in the group if we end up starting Faith.
-
Nice to see Thomas back. With his experience and faith potentially taking a step forward this year we could potentially have a non-import starting on defensive line. Between Corney, Faith and Thomas I don’t see how we can’t have a Canadian on th field at all times.

http://3downnation.com/2018/05/22/riders-canadian-receiver-jake-harty-suffers-torn-acl/ The riders lost one of their potential starting Canadians for the season.

Darren Bauming has reported that the bombers signed Bighill to a 1 year deal paying him 175k. A very good price for such a talent and 4 CFL teams had been vying for his services.
-
Yeah I don't see it being a big deal. When we run a two back set one receiver has to go off. Might as well be one of the imports. Doesn't make that much of a difference since we have some promising Canadian receivers.

I doubt it. Only Hamilton signs big name players to ride the bench.
