I just cant see it being good in any direction. Maybe that show left a really bad taste in my mouth, and maybe with better CGI it might do better but aquaman is basically an under water planeteer, with the occasional attack on him and atlantis. He's got a place in the Justice league for sure, but he's one of those 1 dimensional characters imop like the flash, how many ways can super speed ALWAYS been necessary to save the day in his own world. how many times is atlantis gonna be attacked by Black Manta and Aquaman summons his legions of fish and mammals...

no I tried to bold the part that i was referring to in an Aquaman stand alone film at the end of that article. It said she will play both the role of Queen Mera in JL and in a solo film. I remember they made an extremely short lived and fail whale of a tv show in Aquaman shortly after his introduction in Smallville. it was really all kinds of bad as it's own show

Creed was a pretty good movie, I could see 1 more movie before Stallone calls it a day. probably some kinda storyline involved with rocky passing away and a feud rising between Adonis and Rocky Jr. maybe rocky puts adonis in his will and it pisses off rocky jr cuz thats HIS dad and they'll settle whatever issue mano e mano That would make it full circle, Creed being the big time boxer (not necessarily the champ, unless they wanna say he eventually becomes champ between the here and then) and Balboa being the guy no one gave much of a chance on, but with training and heart he rises to the challenge.

lol derail this thread, Im pretty sure we've rode the crazy train quite a bit on various movies, hell last few pages were all about transformers and **** lol. That wouldnt surprise me about Stallone, I recall hearing waaay back in his prime because he was only like 5'7" or 5'8" they used to use camera angles in his movies to make him look bigger next to his co-stars to make his role as action star more believable, so if he decided taking some real hits was necessary, wouldnt doubt it in the least

It's so hard to tell if a team is that dominant or their opponent is that weak with these brackets. #1 vs #16 games are brutally lopsided. I watched the Kansas(1) vs Austin Peay(16) and currently watching North Carolina(1) vs Florida Gulf Coast University(16) and its just a beat down. truth be told Ive never even heard of Austin Peay and FGCU lol

and that's the draw back when you assume the character will be what you know him as, but someone elses vision ends up disappointing you for not being accurate to that image. If what I read was accurate, the cumberbatch Khan in ST:ID is from a decade before this Khan so while I expected more of this Khan I can sort of see why they went the way they did. I always knew Khan as an advanced superior to humans, with a hate on the federation for the way he and his people were treated, and while the way they were treated differed, I think it was just the directors take on how he'd do it

I might be mistaken but it seems like Basketball is getting more and more popular in recent years, especially in Canada. I remember when basketball was all the rage when Jordan was running wild, there were tons of great movies coming out with basketball themes too. but now with guys like Lebron and more recently Stephen Curry, the raptors being competitive last few years, a bunch of canadians being drafted high last few years like Wiggins, the all star game in toronto, seems like interest is picking up pretty steady

I think I saw most of the backlash on Benedict Cumberbatch playing Khan was the role should have been cast to a person of Indian ancestry. I personally didnt mind his role as Khan, despite having seen Wrath of Khan, and enjoying it. The main bad guy in Mad Max fury road kinda reminded me more of a traditional Khan, but with Cumberbatch, you likely have a bigger window to expand on the character for years to come. same with Pine as kirk but then again I'm the same way with comics and cartoon-turn live action movies, I hold them in a very high regard and very critical to branching too far off the original premise. so I totally get it

I'm not sure their successes at the box office, but I do know they went up for awards, but the whole nomination and awards thing I take with a grain of salt cuz I dont agree at all with a lot of the academy's selections and winners lol. Interstellar was bat **** crazy by the end of the movie and not in the good way, so that i'll leave at that. The Martian and Gravity are interesting choices when talking ST. Essentially The Martian was space Cast Away, and Gravity was space Open Water. but with their own flavor behind otherwise very similar premises. Seems hardcore ST fans are quick to cut into anything remade in the franchise and not appropriately accurate or displayed with these revisions. Sometimes, it might be better to just try enjoy it for what it is, then constantly put it up against a previous incarnation
