Well if your trying to put a CFL team into a market that believes its an NFL market (St. Louis, Baltimore, hell Toronto) you probably wont see as much interest. but Spokane might also be die hard seahawks fans, id sooner put a team in Oregon that doesnt have the NFL then in a state that does which is why I wouldnt bother with Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan...ect. all just theoretical anyways, not gonna happen again for a long time or ever again after that failed 90's attempt. I dont think the league wants that black eye again

Sure, why not. Whatever. WWE Network and Wrestlemania

i always get suggested posts on FB from some viral site that usually does those "you'll never believe how much ____ has changed from child star to grown up star, I looked at one this morning that was you'll never believe what wrestling stars are in or have been in the adult movie business (beyond playboy) some notables were Bubba Ray Dudley (directed), Gangrel (I think directed and might have starred as well), Candice Michelle (soft core) Maryse (who I didnt know was dating or married to the Miz), Mickey James and Christy Hemme as far as WWE connections go. just thought I'd throw that out there since we were recently talking about Sunny -
what about looking at places like ND, SD, Montana. Close enough to the boarder that you could draw people from canada to come watch, plus might already be fully aware of the CFL. I dont think any of those states have cities that would have a serious shot for an NFL team for a long time/ever, assuming everything is equal (ratio, salary)
-
no i remember Baltimore's GC win, but other then the ratio rule being lopsided at that time, its not like they (CFL HQ) couldn't make the appropriate changes after learning from what didn't work the first time. Again Im not in favor of the idea either, I'd rather see a 10th team (in the maritimes) in canada long before an american outfit again. hell id rather see 12 teams in canada before that. but that first run of the US i think tried to change too much and infused way to many teams at once (i think 7? LV, Sacremento, Memphis, Birmingham, Baltimore, Shreveport, San Antonio) thats alot of new teams at once
-
not saying i support the idea, but I dont see how it couldnt work either
-
I suppose you could increase the DI #, but the american team would have the advantage having 9 home games vs the other teams playing there only once per season. why exactly cant the american team play to the ratio rule in the US? and can currency paid not just be converted; SMS cap = 3.7millUS (5.1mCAD) instead of Player getting say $120kCAD they get $87K US

is this a good thing or potentially dangerous thing in setting people up

I kept coming across a disturbing pic of sean connery on FB then watching an interview with a member of the band Ghost, they mentioned the movie Zardoz from 1974. so i watched it. They were going on a little tare for a bit remaking a bunch of old movies I enjoyed, The Time Machine, The Day The Earth Stood Still, and other recreations like the novel War of The Worlds. I'd totally watch a remake of this bad boy lol

I wonder if Kurt Angle would come back for a WM spot as i believe he will be "retired" (currently on a farewell tour on TNA) and still in ring shape. could be a quick payday and get good pop without WWE having to be tied up for too long with him -

Other then hearing some goldberg chants for ryback kick up again recently, is goldberg really a draw anymore? -
Thats exactly the point, for players/agents this is a very real and big deal, and its becoming a more common thing around the league, which imo hurts the reputation of the league for players down south
-
Why dont we just sign everyone to lower bases and put in riduculous bonus money out there to make every negotiation look lucrative with no intention of paying them. Wed win more bidding wars.
-
Its sounded like players are surprised by these moves recently, muamba, chick, dressler (maybe?) And its easy to think a player would feel blindsided and likely assumed/banked the bonus they signed to and was approaching was as good as theirs. Id be pissed off at any company who released me just prior to paying me something we previously agreed to. I get the no guarantee but in situations like chick n dressler, they both bled green n white and would be the select few type players on that team that earned their bonus, even if it was ugly financially on the club. These kinda moves hurt the integrity and appeal of the league to players down south that can easily find out these thing either thru agents or circles that word gets around in
-
Ive had some thought on this before. And I kind of agree with the anonymous player. It cant look good for the league to have teams constantly cutting players before a bonus is due. I understand it from both the teams bottom line, and SMS point of view, but how would you feel if you were fired from your job just before a Xmas bonus was due, one that u might have been banking on/looking forward to and essentially might have been a main reason you signed on the begin with. How does it affect the leagues appeal down south for players to want to come here with that kind of treatment

Not surprised by either, in fact kinda excited to see who we bring in at DE now -
Yeah they definitely rushed it after the first episode or 2, but doesnt seem like it got the same creative push TWD did, as I believe FTWD was just a web thing to start. Its too bad had potential

a chewie spin off maybe?? -
I dont agree with losers getting perks, they already get higher draft picks to try and make them better the following year, that should be enough. other then a home playoff game there is nothing good about finishing 2nd, or even worse 3rd

I think your trying to hard in making 2009 star trek identical to the old show and movies. all in all I think they did a pretty decent job at least referencing a lot of the old stuff while "trying" to breathe some new life into the franchise in its own way. I dont think any reboot with a whole new cast and writers/directors will please every die hard to the letter, but stuff like Spocks emotional outbursts is pretty easily understandable, in what they were trying to do. As i wasnt a trekkie, other then "talked about" events of the crews past prior to the start of the show was there ever any actual on screen performances of these events? or was this the first ever adaptation of Pre-TOS days?

only team id really be worried about is Hamilton in the opening half of the season, I dont think Edmonton will be all that at this point, and we seem to have been playing better against calgary for the most part under Oshea
