I think they need Owens to give up the IC and get back into the main event tbh. I think hes done well to play the heel thus far and was pretty good with Cena as far as wrestling top guys (though cena could be credited just as much) I think them burying Ziggler might have hurt his credibility right now to jump to that spot, but hes someone I thought could have made the believable smaller heel like champ

Exactly. On the subject of Freddie Mercury, he kept his sexuality as somewhat of an open secret. Being gay was illegal not long before Mercury was a star. He also kept his AIDS status private but shortly before his death he felt the need to issue a statement admitting he had AIDS and asking the world to fight the disease. I dont understand the people that feel the need to express the "who cares" attitude. Worse when they pretend they dont have prejudice on the subject by listing all their gay friends or saying they just consider it a non issue. Its great if thats true but its not the way of the world. It was just THIS YEAR that gays were allowed to be married in the US and to this day have to fight to exercise that right. im from canada, i really more care about what goes on in canada, the US people have never been a shining example of accepting ppl whatever the case Which means what? Is the NHL not a league operated in both Canada and the US? Or you mean you dont care about the plight of gays unless they are in Canada? with how very few athletes have come out in the open, I could give benefit to the doubt there may just not be that many gay athletes. perhaps the social stigma that the locker room culture would be unaccepting basically just kept kids growing up on the straight and narrow. I'd be more willing to believe there is maybe a lot of bisexual or bi-curious athletes, but strictly gay might be a lot fewer then people expect

If anything I would think that gives it the impression it is still such a widely blatant issue that it needs poster celebs to enforce that its ok. this aint 1955, its 2015 and its been a pretty widely socially accepted thing for sometime. I dont condemn her for doing so, im just saying its not necessary to broadcast what you do in your personal life just because your a celebrity. the way I read this article was is that people are waiting for these announcements and have been for 2 years without one, and I ask why? if your gonna go public (celebrity or not) with your sexual orientation you'll do so, but others shouldnt be waiting for something that might not even exist. as I put, what if there are no gay players in the NHL?

I do get the issue, people are waiting for celebrities to come out of the closet and break down these walls and inspire others, and im saying what walls?? the the gay community is large and very outspoken, and constantly making headlines in positive ways. why do people feel the need to get the sexual orientation out of hockey players now out in the spotlight? people will come out when if they want to if they ever even want to. If a hockey player wants to thats his perogative but in no way should it be a were waiting situation, to quote burke himself; Burke paused before adding: "I don't want to say it's disappointing because everyone is on their own timeline and when the first guy is ready he's going to do it." what if there is no gay people in the nhl? i understand the team aspect and the social fear of ridicule and outcast being a part of that team, its no different then being worried how the kids in school would react. but what im trying to say is its no ones business what u do between the sheets, what you do in the locker room and on the field/ice is what matters

And its ppl like that that make this an issue. I like queen, didnt change one little bit when freddy mercury came out of the closet, becuse that had absolutely nothing to do with why I like or even know who queen are. Even after finding out, great, each to their own, I think mercury was a great singer n song writer. And still do. I get what ellen said but has anyone really said well if so n so came out, im comin out too! Its all about comfort and timing, not poster boys n girls
