You guys were right, pinawa is a very beautiful course, especially holes 8, 9 and 16. The bugs were pretty crazy at 10am but tapered off by hole 5. Ive never seen carts before with a on-board navigator. GPS tracking so you can see where you are on the course map, and distance from where you are per hole to center of the green. Digital score keeping on it as well as hole previews that give you tips per hole. that was impressive. Only lost 2 balls tho, but one I hit a goose on hole 8 and it ricocheted into the water hugging the left side lol Overall very nice course and challenging. Id definitely do it again, but prob do a 3 day plan to do pinawa 1 day, granite hills another and lac du bonnet on the 3rd since its kind of in the same area give or take a 20 min drive

Supplemental Draft - Austin Reuland
Taynted_Fayth replied to M.O.A.B.'s topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'd imagine part of the leniency is due to the work involved to find these kids. Not saying there shouldn't be some kind of deadline, but iirc there was only 1 player in the actual supplemental draft (Deadline for that was may 29th, 11am, and the player was Rick Orio who no one selected). Since then there appears to be 3 more, and very well could have been 4 if it weren't for a scout stumbling across Judge at UCLA while there to scout Ankou. Hell even Duane Ford had to unearth one (Waggoner), So maybe it's a little more time consuming then being handed a prospect list from the cfl bureau and just popping in some film. -
Supplemental Draft - Austin Reuland

I'd imagine there has to be some who weren't just WR and LB (Couldn't find a list tho). How long have they been doing the supplemental draft for? -
Supplemental Draft - Austin Reuland
Taynted_Fayth replied to M.O.A.B.'s topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I actually don't mind the later supplemental draft. It gives your current draftees a chance to show their worth before you hit the panic button and start firing off future picks. However is it just me or do all supplemental draft picks seem to be receivers and LBs? off the top of my head names that come to mind are, Poblah(WR), Waggoner(LB), Bartlett (LB) Francis (WR/LB) Wolitarsky (WR) I'm sure I'm missing a few but seems like a trend. I'm sure if there was an OL up for grabs, you would think someone like Wally would be all over it given how their 2nd round pick Zver ended up -
My dad was just mentioning earlier today Grand Pines is on his to do list. Will probably hit it up one day this summer - likely a golf/beach day. Though not in Manitoba, when I spent a summer out in Grande Cache Alberta I tried the golf course there, what an awe striking course strictly for the mountain ranges. One hole you're pretty much shooting the ball about 50 ft downhill. Probably a high risk course though, I was working for Parks Alberta at the time and heard of mountain lions attacking people in Hinton, so I have to imagine they see lots of bears and other wildlife at both courses. I'm a little surprised at the lack of more dangerous wildlife at the MB courses I've tried. I've seen plenty of bears heading to the courses, but never seen anything more than the random deer and geese... good god the geese! Played Kingswood a few weeks ago and hole 10 was literally an entire fairway of goose poop :s

Not sure what all the hubbub is about... Nichols did what he had to do at the end of the game in finding the endzone 4 times and only tossing up 1 pick (that was more due to the ball being volley up by the target). 4:1 any day is a good day even if he had a slow start. IMO Harris didn't come flying out of the gate either when called upon. Our D on the other hand let up 40 points, which isn't all that great of an outing and will likely lose you most games. THAT needs some shoring up, and I fully expect it will be

that disappoints me, I literally lived right outside Riding Mountain in Erickson, Onanole and Minnedosa for about a year and never once thought to try Clear Lake Golf. I did Sandy Lake Golf Course just west of there because it was free, but it was nothing worth writing home about. Though not many of the people I was living/working with out there were into golf so it wasn't really a topic that came up ever, and they certainly weren't the people to recommend anything lol. Guess if I ever venture back that way I'll have to try it out

Who was our worst coach?
Taynted_Fayth replied to Blue in the loops's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
ok I was unaware of that, that is a pretty bad record. But again, how good were those rider teams? I'd be curious to see if Daley had the same success as Berry if he continued coaching the teams Berry got -
Who was our worst coach?
Taynted_Fayth replied to Blue in the loops's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
The reason I don't think Jim Daley is all that bad or near the worst is because he was able to go 5-6 in 2004. The biggest issue in 2005 was our defense. And coincidentally our DC Rod Rust abruptly left just prior to the reg season starting. It had a ripple effect that was too much to overcome. I don't think he would have been a HOF HC by any means but I don't think he was really given a fair shake, and has never had an opportunity since so it's hard to really say. The problem with a question like this is there are too many variables. Talent on the team, GM in office, Coordinators working under you, length of time as HC. Other than record there isn't much you can compare them to when there's so much that differs -
good to hear! I was told if I was going to Pinawa I should check out some dam while I'm there. I tried Granite Hills a while back on Lac Du Bonnet, that was a nice course as well

Been thinking about starting this thread for a while, but keep forgetting. Just curious where everyone enjoys golfing the most? any hidden gems out there maybe off the radar? For me the best golf course I've ever played in MB was in Buffalo Point at the Lake of the Sandhills Golf Course (MB/ONT/Minn boarder near Lake of the Woods). My cousin's husband used to manage it so he invited us out for a free round a few summers ago. The way they keep the course is simply other worldly compared to most city courses, and even most of the rural ones I've tried. The views over several holes are awesome too, here's an example of one hole; If ur ever camping around there or willing to do the drive I'd highly recommend it. I'm about to try Pinawa Golf Course tomorrow morning for the first time, hope it's a nice course for the drive.

I'd be surprised to see Carmichael starting on friday. The coaches are well aware of how bad he got lit up again and again on sat. The question will be, do they give him a chance to redeem? or is Johnson back

was playing the averages i mentioned in a previous post. Medlock was averaging 65 yards on kickoffs (so from his own 25 would boot to the opposing 20) and the average kick off return was 27 yards for the riders. True if they are going to score they are going to score, but we helped them score by giving them a shorter field to work with. If our plan is to outright stop them, spotting them the ball from our own 43 is a piss poor way to do that as it's field goal range. and last time i checked 3 > 2. this is all a game of what ifs at this point. I still don't like the call. I don't like giving up 2 either but when you're pinned deep like that and there's still 3:00 left in the second in a 7 point game (10-3) id have prefered it.

So what was IMPACT wrestling then? just a temporary name change until this recent GFW acquisition?

someone at 3DownNation thinks because Newsome "liked" that impersonator tweet, it could be the catalyst that lead to his release http://3downnation.com/2017/07/04/riders-release-dl-jonathan-newsome/ Bit of a stretch IMO but if it has any truth to it hahaha

Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)
Taynted_Fayth replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
With the CBA scrapping the old waiver system, the moment your "released" teams can talk to you, no more waiting period. I believe it was agreed upon so players could find new employment sooner than rather. That said, Zver is from regina, very good chance the riders were talking to at least someone close to him as a middle man to get in his ear -
Sorry if I missed your post or a link to this Global Force Wrestling, but what exactly is Jeff starting, a new promotion with a new roster or essentially rebranding IMPACT wrestling since that is what became of TNA originally. If they are seperate entities, does Jeff have any big names going for the ride with him?

I think we'd all prefer a more dominant finish, hell I would have prefered we had continued to step on their throat after going on a 31-3 run, but in the end we came away with a W in Regina. Only thing that mattered at the end of the day.

Sounds like dem sask boys don't understand perfectly cromulent verbage -
I'll agree they would have won the Montreal game because it was a kick for the win. But even if Crappy kicks that 2 OT FG the bombers know they need 6 to win, I doubt they play as conservative as they do. Of course that's a "what if" but knowing what you need to win, in this case 1-3 points it changes the play calling significantly. So there's no promise the riders walk away with a tie even if the kick goes through

we weren't putting up many point the first 5 games with Willy behind center averaging 1 TD a game (5) but interestingly looking at the boxscores, Medlock only kicked 1 FG in the first 2 games, the 58 yarder in game 1 and none in game 2 - both losses. Our first win came against Hamilton in week 3 in Ham, where Medlock kicked 4 FGs. I don't really wanna go through all the box scores but It would be interesting to see how many Wins we get when Medlock kicks 4 or more FGs. he went 5/5 on sat, I know we definitely won the game he booted 8 fgs. Maybe its by design he contributes as much as he does

I always though with the amount of receivers and their talent, they would have been wiser to just convert some of them to DB (maybe someone like Grant or even Demski before Bagg got hurt) since they would likely be familiar with routes and patterns..etc. Seems like such a waste to abandon the blitz in favor of trying to have a DL help coverage. -
complete foolishness. Their QB is Kevin Glenn. The same Kevin Glenn they had in 2015 when they also had like 6 or 7 close games with no wins to show for it. Sure the losses aren't all on him, but hes now 1-10 as their starting QB (though im not sure if he ever got any starts his first time around nearly 20 years ago). It's the old adage, everything old is new again

Surprised it's DL they are axing (Tull and Newsome) when it appears it's their secondary that sucks the most ass -
I think its more in the manner Medlock got his #s up so high such as kicking 8 fgs in 1 game. Sure there were a few games the bombers O put up respectable numbers and points, but there were several games our points and victory pretty much came off the foot of Medlock. 60 FGs is only an average of 3.33 fgs per game, but he definitely had a few games were he was kicking way above that average
