  1. that's some weird thinking. Roman vs Cena may generate the most boo's between 2 wrestlers in the history of WWE lol. I thought Strowman put Lesnar on notice prior to getting hurt. Did they just sweep that under the rug and go back to the Strowman/Reigns feud which should have died about 3 PPVs ago?
  2. Apparently Muamba left practice early yesterday banged up. If he's a no go in 3 days that is a pretty huge blow to the riders defense.
  3. I find the MITB could be a good way to turn a face to heel. Have them go on and on about what an honour it is to have the MITB briefcase make the people proud...etc then once the strap is on a face, have mr (or miss) MITB turn on them. I think something like that happened between Orton and Bryan. A heel with MITB just seems like a waste IMO you know they will cash it in under-handedly so it's not really adding much to the character. IMO Carmella will be the next Damien Sandow and cash it in unsuccessfully. I would have given the case to Becky Lynch and turned her, her as a face does nothing for me. Like a loveable loser
  4. if your talking about EIA you're essentially talking about welfare and assistance for families struggling. I was on EIA once before and I got $120 bi weekly and a free bus pass once a month until i found work then was abruptly cut off. There is far more places disabled people, both physically and mentally collect money from the government than welfare, not mention huge tax breaks as well. $1000 could get me by a month, $400 for a room in a rooming house, or shared with roommates, $150 bi weekly for groceries, and the remaining $400 split amongst bills and leisure. Would I be living the high life? no, but I would be able to live on that. The point is those who are disabled don't "have" to work, they have a lot more opportunities to get income without working. I don't discourage them from working though. As you say the money they get from the government isn't as good as it could be, but it's better than nothing, and I believe working for some people does give them a boost in self worth. But I think with all things considered they don't necessarily need a hike in min. wage when they are subsidized else where, vs a person who is limited with option to find a better job due to lack of skill/education/opportunity
  5. wasn't intended to be offensive but it's a reality. Even if the money isn't something you could retire on, it's still additional disposable income that people not disabled don't see. If you add that government money with the wages of a menial job and it works out to a lot better then most take home. I realize those with disabilities struggle with different aspects of life, but money is a struggle for a lot of people too
  6. to think if we didn't play Willy for the first 5 games, we could have had an even better record! Can't see the bombers losing this one. We have a better QB. better RB, better OL, better DL, better Secondary and better ST. I think we might have a better LB unit too, but they definitely have a better MLB, i think Wild and Leggett tho are better than their SAM and WIL. I give them the edge in receiver but Adams, Dressler, and Denmark should be enough to exploit their secondary. Only thing stopping us from a win is how we come out of the gate. We will see if the week off was truly an advantage (rest) or a Curse (rust)
  7. they will be unveiling a new statue that looks like it could use a... cialis
  8. Those people don't really need to work, they can get a ton of money from the government to subsidize their day to day lives. Money not readily available for people without disabilities. Not saying they shouldn't work, or try to better themselves, but a healthy person with no abnormalities doesn't have that free money to fall back on. Even with the canadian student loan, you still have to come up with half the tuition which is in the thousands, money people flipping burgers may struggle to accumulate. I don't see raising minimum wage suddenly seeing these people with vast amounts of new money. It would be nice instead to see companies get more government funding for them to offer potential scholarships to their employees, especially if they can help advance them within their own work place, but unless everyone got a scholarship I could see that cause some workplace friction in some cases
  9. If we're talking about electronic, yes warranties definitely negate the need to repair, assuming people get a warranty. A lot of people don't want to spend the extra when they purchase for it so there is still that kind of bubble money there that's either going to a warranty or potentially someone to fix it down the road. But there will likely for a few generations yet be a constant need for people in the heavy machine and manufacturing sector to do repairs
  10. All comes down to cost. In many cases paying someone say $500 to fix a $2000 machine is better then continuously buying a $2000 machine every time it has a hiccup
  11. My son's only going into grade 8 (but has talked lots about his post secondary education) but I've been telling him for a few years now a field he should take interest in is mechanics, or more specifically industrial machinery mechanics as the wave of the future seems to be automated systems to run all the menial jobs of the world, but every machine will need someone to fix it eventually, and I think that will become one of the highest demanding jobs, if not the highest demand
  12. they don't have to according to employment standards https://www.gov.mb.ca/labour/standards/doc,minimum-wage,factsheet.html but it's pretty standard practice that employers give their employees raises once a year (not much tho, usually like $0.35-$0.50/hr/year just as a sign of goodwill and keeping their employees happy. I would think tho at a certain point (if an employee is there for 20 years) raises in wage comes to a halt and more paid holidays become the annual perk
  13. That's too bad, I won many tournaments there as a teen against adults, was a good way to make $ as a kid, so I have fond memories of the place even though I spent my YBC at Windsor Lanes, and "super" leagues at Hi-way Lanes (former Chalmers lanes) and Dakota.
  14. there's been a lot of talk about this issue lately. For the most part seems like there's some cause and effect that doesn't bode well both for the employee or employer. For the employee I've heard raising the current minimum wage could put them in a new tax bracket and they end up losing more money than they currently do on average. For the employer, especially those that aren't big corporations, but personal ran, to pay their employees more money has a negative affect on their bottom line and would in turn need to raise the prices on their product. If people can't afford what they need currently it is likely they are living beyond their means, and need to make the changes necessary. As mentioned above, if your current wage isn't cutting it for what you want, then strive to find a better paying job. There are a ton of bursaries out there for anyone to get, if they put the effort in to finding them. I believe every canadian citizen is entitled to 1 government bursary for school, but it only covers about half the tuition. If anything, I think there needs to be more exposure on what is all available to everyone. There's a ton of organizations set up and funded by the government to help everyone, but are often never heard about on the day to day.
  15. welcome aboard! hope your nephew lights it up for the blue and gold for years to come! **ps not sure if your name is in reference to this, but it's a great name!
  16. Considering we were down 24-0 at one point to calgary, and you really can't spot a team like that, that kind of cushion, the fact it came down to a last play FG snapping our win streak was a little disappointing, but I thought the over all adjustments made at the half was a positive sign that the team was on the right track as far as progress goes. It was the first time other teams and reporters were calling us the real deal despite our wins previous too iirc
  17. **** WARNING ***** the music in this video is ****
  18. gotta figure with this kid and Blaszko that Richards days in Blue and Gold may be coming to an end. We've certainly replaced the size he brought
  19. yeah he apparently has like 4 wins under his belt in the last 3 years, 3 as an Alouette 1 as a rider but as a Rider he;s 1-9 in that time and his lone win as a rider wasn't really due to him throwing the laces off the ball with a 45% accuracy
  20. it was pointed out to me Glenn got a W in week 14 of 2015 for the rider against the weak Alouettes, going a whoppin 14/31 for 212 yards 1 TD and 1 INT so I guess he is 1-9 as a rider starter since 2015. Either way with our ball hawking secondary I expect to see the classic Glenn frowny face all game long
  21. really? that's too bad, did they say when they do it? I'd have to imagine it's one of 3 games, opener, banjo bowl or final game, but you'd think they'd want to do it early so the name can be seen all year long
  22. Have they made any announcement about a potential name going up for the home opener july 7th? Who would be some of the names you see going up this year? for me: Tyrone Jones Bob Cameron Rod Hill Lyle Bauer Mike Riley
  23. nvm I see it happened right before dean ambrose interrupted but they must have edited out on both showings last night
  24. Did they cut it right out of the show? I see youtube clips of a back stage interview but I watched the show twice last night and don't recall this Lavar stepping to the miz was the most awkward dumbest segment I've seen in a long time in anycase
  25. I know I watch too many movies, but I do believe to some degree aliens have been among us at certain points and abductions have occurred. I think about the way we handle new species, we tend to observe from afar how they act and interact in their natural habitat getting primary knowledge of them. Once we've collected the basic info we start going a step further in abducting them and doing scientific research on them until we have everything we need to know. I don't believe aliens come with the purpose of conquer, but like us just have a general curiosity to a new life. Problem with humans is our instinctive fight or flight response. Once alien life becomes known we're either going to **** ourselves in panic and fear, or feel the need to kill them, before they kill us.
