  1. i'd easily take over on the bombers 8. It would take a complete melt down to be under .500 this year imo
  2. “I once saw him scissor-kick Angela Lansbury.” To Brett Blaszko! “He once punched a hole in a cow just so he could see who was coming up the road.” To Brett Blaszko!
  3. I think a lot has to do with the blockers formations prior to the kick. on a kick off the players are spread out a lot more across the field vs a punt return that sees most of your blockers start off at the LOS so you don't get many blocks till you take it a little ways. I'd imagine the desired skill set might be a little different too. IE: punt returner should have a strong initial burst of speed after the catch and a kick returner should have more shifty moves to navigate through the blockers that are more spread out
  4. I'm fully expecting it to be JFGs job to lose, but I have no faith whatsoever Richards will ever be healthy enough to ever contribute. I don't know if we can release him or not seeing as this is year 3 for him and he is injured, but I would if I could and bring in Stanford. Him and Blaszko can compete for the backup NI receiver spot. Though I'm also expecting that if Demski doesn't re-up this year in sask he's as good as ours in feb, so maybe Blaszko as depth is enough to hold the fort with JFG until the offseason
  5. FTWD seems like its on a much slower pace time wise then TWD. by season 3 rick and co. were already starting to cultivate and inhabit the prison which seemed like a long time after the outbreak (like everything was destroyed and scavenging was the name of the game to survive). FTWD seems like it's still only a few months since the outbreak and it's season 3 already. People aren't so hard up to survive they've turned to complete chaos such as cannibalism or lawless rule, tho it seems that's slowly starting to creep in... the loss of humanity among the living. The biggest difference between the 2 is the lack of logic by the FTWD crew. As you mentioned, Rick and Co. seeked out the CDC, then ventured to Washington for answers and possible cures. The FTWD crew are like oh no zombies, quick, onto the boat. Oh no zombies in Mexico, back to america. It seems like TWD ppl finally gave up once they hit alexandria and now it's about finding a home and building back up from there, but these people on FTWD don't seem to really have any purpose or direction, just flying by the seat of their pants until an inevitable bad situation falls into their laps then have to scramble to escape. Another thing FTWD could do that could work wonders is (I'll post in spoilers in case people haven't read TWD comics
  6. After watching Breaking Bad I watched the first season of Better Call Saul, and it was alright, nothing mindblowing imo. I really had trouble staying interested in the beginning of season 2 so i kind of gave up. But I keep seeing a lot of commercial hyping it's current state. I'd be interested in picking up that show again if they bring back Gus Fring
  7. Been watching Fear the Walking Dead, and this past episode was 99.99% in spanish. I don't mind reading a subtitle here and there but for a whole episode is kind of bunk. Reminds we of when I went and saw that movie Brotherhood of the Wolf years ago. When you spend your time reading the bottom of the screen you tend to miss a lot of the acting. That said I can't say I've really been enjoying this season so far (about 3-4 episodes in). Now that they are off the boat, out of Mexico and the little "Post apocalyptic" communities seems to be a thing now, it's literally become The Walking Dead lite with an inferior cast imo. Best thing FTWD could do is have the main cast somehow stumble upon an iconic villain from TWD and showcase how they came to be. It's too bad "the Governor" had a full episode dedicated to his background as they could have gone a long way in how he ended up in Woodbury and as their leader. Same with Negan, but since that story is still in progress, no chance Jeffrey Dean Morgan would be able to commit to anything more than cameos so that's likely not going to happen, or at least for a long time.
  8. Just read your comments in around the league discussion, and I see he was #89 in BC so needed to change numbers. Gotta be honest other then the name, I don't remember this kid doing anything for the lions
  9. Riders release NI WR Joshua Stanford and Myke Tavarres. Surprised by Stanford, by many accounts he had a solid camp for the riders and many fans thought he had a chance to move up the NI depth chart for the riders. Might not be a bad idea to bring him in for a look see
  10. i know he says there;s new faces, but no indication as to who. Even looking at the depth chart he (Bauming) tweeted 20 hours ago, there is no #82 among the starters, back ups, PR players and draft class. I was gonna say the return of terrence edwards...but he's white lol
  11. who is 82? Dressler and Lankford are easy to point out in that vid, but bombers roster has nothing for a 82
  12. that whole "Angle cracks the case" build up to Cass turning on Enzo was pretty meh for me. Maybe it's because they are tag team jobbers at this point, but it was about as interesting to me as Golddust turning on R-Truth *fart noise* Way I would have scripted it was both get fed up with constantly losing so they blame each other as being the fault. They put some kind of wager to see who does better in singles matches to prove they are the better wrestler with Cass then interfering and costing Enzo matches to make sure he doesn't win. The whole fake assault thing was pretty dumb to me, and wtf is up with that Corey Graves butting into storylines lately. When he interrupted this segment I thought he was going to pull an Austin Aries and throw himself back into the ring and claim he attacked Cass, maybe stating that with all their losses they don't deserve to be on Raw..etc would have worked better imo Also Booker T sucks as a commentator. that is all.
  13. the way I'd see our starting Week 2 roster would be as such Alexander Johnson Loffler Heath Randle Wild Hurl Leggett Okpalaugo Johnson Nevis Westerman Bryant Bond Goosen Chungh Hardrick Adams Nichols Denmark JFG Dressler Harris Washington I included Leggett because he`s apparently starting to get back at it now (slowly) but in 2 weeks time should be good to go imo
  14. Is Lankford a lock to be our 4th imp receiver? MOS was pretty high on L'Damian Washington in a recent interview
  15. RE: Hurl... it all makes sense now. I don't have a link to the media scrum but MOS says When Hurl plays we likely go 2 IMP DT (Poop & Nevis) when we play Knox at MLB we play Thomas & Nevis. I guess I could live with those scenarios especially if Poop is a disturber up the middle when in
  16. Week 1: Darian Durant (rushing)
  17. but can another team speak with the PR player without the players team knowing before hand? I keep thinking back to the Bennett situation last year, and while he's since been cut, the proximity of him signing in sask. after the GC al;most immediately makes me wonder if there had been some discussions ahead of time for Bennett to make such a quick decision. We put some of our potential future on the PR yesterday (most notably Spooner) and I would hate to have another team be in his ear the whole time he's there setting up a quick jump at the first chance he can
  18. I'm curious if a team has to go to the PR players GM first and ask to speak with that player, or if they can just directly talk to the PR player first? PR players are under contract and being paid, so it should still be seen as tampering if another team approaches them without consent
  19. I'd do it. He was likely expendable due to them picking up Woods
  20. I think carmichael was only getting those reps because Leggett got hurt, and may have played well enough to find himself as go to guy if the same happens down the road. With regards to MOS, Walters and Miller - I don't think Miller scouts, not in his job description and he was a FB and ST demon so maybe not the best eye for LBs. I'm not really sure who or what Walters primary scouting forte or focus is, but I get the feeling with his Guelph connections he primarily focuses on NI's especially in the OUA, the imports are likely the focus of our other scouts on the payroll. Then there's MOS. I hear a lot of people saying for a HOF MLB he should have an uncanny eye for MLB talent. This might be true, but the way he played (HOF level) maybe out of the reach of those who are brought before him to evaluate. He generally seems more focused on character and work ethic more than sheer talent. This may have an effect and main reason why a guy like Kuale and Hurl lasted or are lasting as long as they have
  21. I think our starting 3 of Wild, Hurl, Leggett will be about the same, maybe slightly less talented then Wild, Bass, Leggett, but Bass wasn't exactly lighting it up at MLB either. With Waggonner never getting any reps on D, i think the depth comparison would be Knox vs Burnett. Carmichael is listed as DB on both the Bombers and CFL sites, unless he acts as an emergency SAM (He's 5'10" 189lbs so not that big). As for Burnett, I thought he played alright at times last year, but I seem to remember him having at least 1 really bad game... can't remember which game though. I think his contribution on teams was what kept him around more than his LB play imo.
  22. not seeing the comparison here. Maybe Hurl vs Bass but Wild and Leggett are the incumbents, Knox and Carmichael are back ups at this point (unless moe is out longer then expected). Burnett saw limited action last year and was a back up as well, and waggonner never saw any reps on D
