  1. I was talking with my buddy on sat that works with the bombers about TC and he mentioned the riders wouldn't be getting to run a rookie camp because they've been running "secret camps" that everyone apparently knew about. I thought nothing of it at the time, but yesterday morning someone on RF mentioned Luc Mullinder also said they wouldn't be running a rookie camp as it was seen as "a waste of time"... right. So if that's the case, even better is we get some of our football fix well before the riders do
  2. why does bauming say we add 4 imports then list 5
  3. knew we were toast in the shootout when we have to face Lundquist and they have to face colorado's back up. Don't get me wrong, would have loved to see a winnipeg boy take home the gold, and he did a great job in net, but in a shootout, I'd take Henrik all day every day
  4. went and saw Alien Covenant this afternoon. Probably one of the better Alien movies out to date, and much better than Prometheus imo, but I'd probably recommend (re)watching Prometheus again before you go see this one just to refresh your memory leading to this. Michael Fassbender is really growing on me as an actor as well
  5. gotta say, after they blew through the 2nd power play with no points and 7 mins left i thought they were done and looking at playing for bronze. that was a hell of a comeback indeed
  6. I voted no. I just don't think there's enough participation in non football/NHL threads that would warrant a "other sports" section. for example, in nearly 2 years, the blue jays thread has generated 22 pages. curling generated 5 pages while the scotties and brier were going on, I don't think anyone has talked about the NBA playoffs this year, wbbfan started a raptors/nba thread that got 0 replies. The world series thread got 10-16 replies (i think there was 2 going) goldeyes got 14 replies, olympics got 3 pages.. and so on
  7. STP's Core album I would say was grunge but they moved more towards Alt rock as the years went on. I would almost say the same with Soundgarden, Badmotorfinger and Louder than Love were big a part in why they were credited with being leaders in the grunge movement, but superunknown and beyond they definitely went to a cleaner softer tone. Grunge was basically a hybrid of Punk and Heavy Metal so it was aggressive, but kinda distorted in sound, or a perfect imperfection if you will. so bands like Pearl Jam, The Smashing Pumpkins, weezer..etc I never really felt were all that grunge, but definitely under the same umbrella for music genre. Bands like Nirvana, Mudhoney, The Screaming Trees, Alice in Chains... those would be grunge. all MO of course. Those genre breakdowns like that dude who does the metal documentary are pretty good but open to interpretation
  8. the riders are going to need a few of these guys in the locker room this year
  9. might depend what my kid wants to do. We went to TC last year together (weaving through all the road hockey going on) if he wants to go to TC again this year we could probably stop in for lunch
  10. Thought we would have fixed our Red Zone woes last year picking up Gurly, didn't really work out and now he's not even with us. Hopefully Stafford will have Rod Black calling him the Sticky Staff and he grabs everything tossed his way for the score
  11. apparently twitter was having some sort of "Protect Eddie" trend going for a being that he/pearl jam are the last big band from that seattle grunge scene. Though not as big, The Melvins are going to be in winnipeg in late July I'm actually excited for. Power 97 stole my facebook statuses I posted. this is what I wrote; with a link to Nothing Compares 2 U and replied to a comment with this like 5 hours later Power97 puts this out; http://www.power97.com/2017/05/18/watch-chris-cornells-last-performance/?sc_ref=facebook now I wouldn't have thought nothing of those coincidences but they damn well used the word surreal as well in the comment above the link! big brother is watching.....
  12. not necessarily, While I cheered the Jets on and went to games (and got painted up for the white outs) I still had an Ed Belfour Poster hanging in my room and had more chicago stuff over the years then Jets. If anything the Jets folding only waned my interest in the NHL and soon after the bombers took it's place. Still haven't really come around back to the NHL since 1.0 died
  13. Very true, the more i read articles on it, sounds like it very well could be the case. Especially when reading his wife called a family friend to check on him. Makes it appear she was genuinely concerned about his well being, so there must have been something leading up to that. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/music/news/chris-cornells-death-investigated-possible-suicide/
  14. Id find suicide hard to believe, theres a few videos of him literally even now playing a few hours ago at the fox. I know its not my place to judge a persons mental health level, I just dont know what could poissibly push someone that far in that time frame. Only thing I can think of would be a drug enduced mental break down, but cornell was never really infamous for drug use
  15. Chris Cornell dead at 52. This one gets me right in the feels prob one of my fav artists of all time https://www.theguardian.com/music/2017/may/18/chris-cornell-former-soundgarden-singer-dies-aged-52
  16. I suppose there may be a potential battle for #2 between LeFevour and Davis, but realistically only real QB battle at camp will be between Apodaca and Bell for a PR spot
  17. lmao! I've been called a lot of food in my day, a rotten egg, full of bologna, sour grapes..etc but never been called corn before! makes me think of south park when the band Korn uses their super Korn powers and transformers into
  18. maybe it's the Danny McBride effect, but anyone else feel like the way Alien: Covenant trailers have been airing on tv make it seem like its more of a comedy then a horror?
  19. I dunno maybe i'm in the minority but I felt, the build between the Shinsuke/Ziggler feud has been horrible. Between the overall lack of violence between them, Shinsuke's mouth guarded thick japanese accented english forced 1 liners, I just haven't been overly fascinated with the match, mainly because I've seen Shinsuke wrestle before, so it's not really "epic" to see it on SD for the first time, and so my interest between the 2 waned over the weeks. Unless this ends up being MOTY I think it was needless build up that hasn't worked as expected, guess we will see on sunday
  20. What was the deal on Sherman, did we just not resign him at FA or or did we outright release him? I thought he was a decent player. Nothing crazy spectacular but a solid contributor on teams and adequate NI depth in the secondary
  21. must have missed that interview. Didn't realize Jones will be heading into his 4th season with the Bombers. had a nice year on teamers last year with 7 tackles and 2 blocked punts
  22. thought morgan would have been Loffler's backup with Conteh at #3 on the depth chart
  23. Was a little disappointed the Shinsuke/Ziggler feud only featured dolph showing a video montage back stage in the show just before the PPV. What a horrible build up to a match. Watching Jindi holding the belt over a downed Orton got me thinking last night, what does anyone think the record is for challengers when they do that just before the big match? I'm thinking its not very good, because they usually like to make someone look strong just to lose the ppv in what would then be seen as "upset" or shocking I also shamefully found myself laughing at the "fashion files" with Fandango and Breeze. It's so bad...
  24. speaking of fox shows, man are they pumping out a lot of ... ify shows, here's another
  25. I didn't think it looked that bad, nothing must see, but i might check it out. I wasn't a big ST fan and movies like Galaxy Quest were kinda meh for me, but I do like Seth McFarlane so i'm willing to see his spin on space (other than those family guy star wars spoofs)
