Just saying that Vandervoort was the only guy we wanted that we didn't get, and if by some small miracle was available at 6 would have changed our draft quite a bit

just some food for thought about this past draft; Bombers nearly got everyone they wanted, with the exception being BC taking Vandervoort at #3. If Vandervoort was still available at #6 we may not have made that trade with Calgary for 8 and 34. reason Gray was taken as 8 was because the Bombers felt he would not be available in the later rounds. He would have gone no later than 15th for us so either way it was a reasonably high pick being used. Sounds like Menard-Briere and Thera-Plamondon should stick with our team barring a complete bed *****ing at TC. They may be looking at Medlock doing sole duty of place kicking while MB handles punts, and TP working on being our future long snapper. Seems fitting they get drafted together since they could end up working with each other directly for a few years, good to build chemistry asap

I think something did happen to Ovi during the Leafs series, he was going all out hitting people in the first round then relegated to 3rd line in the 2nd series. Still not an excuse but since he was one of my picks it was hard not for me to notice his diminished roles and lack of presence in the 2nd series, other then that slash on crosby that lead to the niskanen hit. I think one game he had like 4 mins of ice time logged in after 2 periods

Considering BC was trying to sign Waggoner as an import LB prior to Forde connecting the dots, I wonder how much other teams kind of forced our hand bidding it up on us? Given the hype and his resume, it wasn't a bad pick at the time, just didn't work out for us better. C'est la vie. We still ended up with Trent Corney and Michael Couture in the 2016 draft so it's all good

only couple I can think of that make me chuckle is back around 2004 just prior to trading Khari Jones, I went to a movie at polo park silver city so to catch the 14 ellice home me and my kids mom had to cut across the bomber parking lot. Walking out of the office there is a freshly shaved head Khari (had dreads prior) and I'm like omg that's Khari jones! she was like yeah right and didn't believe me, so we stopped walking and I was like "Excuse me, are you Khari Jones?" and his face lit up and he was like "Yes I am, would you like an autograph?" I was like nope just checkin and continued to walk towards ellice. Boy did that smile drop like a brick when i declined the autograph though. We traded him a few weeks later to BC and in hindsight I kinda wish I had gotten that signature I've actually met a lot more musicians than athletes, hugely in part to working at canad inns windsor park for a while and cowboys was still the Colosseum, on top of the free tix i got for everything, I used to have to load up and deliver the band's rider and usually i'd get to have a drink with them

I never like putting the blame on 1 player, but man Holtby let in far too many soft goals both series. I don't think I'd move from him next year but he's really gotta get his post season play up a notch.

I dunno I think the caps will pull this one out for Ovechkin. When they were down 3-1 i was ready to put a fork in them, but they've been the better team the last 3 game (including tonight). Win tonight and I think the cup is as good as theirs, I'm sure they realize this too
