  1. Cf18 fly overs for every game! He’d land and off the plane mos would have an rcmp escort for his car to the stadium.
  2. 3 keys to the game Turn overs suck! Don’t commit them! sacks suck! Don’t give up sacks! field goals suck, score touch downs! Bonus key, bc sucks, beat them!
  3. If we put up 30+ but I’m not holding my breath. Bc has been killing us at home in the regular season the last few years.
  4. Our pass D has been good, our run D has been gouged, our pass rush has been bad. I don’t think they will do as well against bc the next two games.
  5. Bit of both haha. I’ve got family that goes and spend the whole game at the rum hut, 90% for the atmosphere drinks 50/50 etc. and that’s not a knock on them or the team. They’ve done an incredible job of building a cool area that young people love. One of my cousins has become a bomber fan entirely because of the rum hut party every home game.
  6. His missing the whole tc and pre season tells me he never recovered from injuries last year. He was pretty beat up late in the year. Nuef had fought all kinds of injuries over the years. The riders used to think he was a tackle in his early days. I’ve been as vocal as any one about his flaws, guys a tough ass warrior. I wish a bunch of other guys had his heat and toughness. He is not the answer at guard, maybe he could become the answer but he isn’t a turn key solution. I’m happy we are going imp, I also hope we give Wallace a game or more if we end up playing meaningless games.
  7. He does move around a lot. Our D front in general moves more than it has in a long time.
  8. My biggest problem with pff is their stat weights and not using any advanced gathering metrics. Using conventional stats to create advanced stats seldom works out. You need further quantification, especially on the lines. I have no doubt it’s better than the relative drivel we get from the usual talking heads. We have a handful of posters here who know more about football and Xs n Os than the upper level of reporting around the cfl. (Basically all the none players) I’m sure in order to take a step forward and really provide a quality product they’d need much more money. I bet that’s the goal, but with no actual plan as to how to get there. I could see him riding a 6 Game then maybe coming back to be “eased in” as a 6th man, or maybe getting a goodbye start in a meaningless final game. Exactly. And an import guard might be able to cover for Kola more. If he has the mobility he can get over to help on a nose. Neufs mobility at this point is hoping the gravity of his mass can pull guys to him.
  9. I don’t believe he was actually injured. They pulled him after two sacks in a row and I didn’t see him get any attention from the trainers. A lot of these no contact injuries where guys walk off with no injury stoppage are suspicious as hell. Previously we would’ve had to scrape guys like nuef off the field. He may well still have issues with a previous injury they will blame, but I think it’s clear he’s toast and I’m hopeful he won’t be back. This. We need to be looking for our prototype wr, not an army of tweener guys. Should’ve brought in Bailey already. The mafia should be ashamed of the product on the field this year for all the crowd support they’ve gotten. I put zero stock in the pff grades in general. But I do think this is reasonably close to what transpired.
  10. It’s a very tall order, and it is a huge ask for a team of to from stealing defeat from the mouth of victory to stealing wins. I can’t see us controlling our fate either tbh. Eli hasn’t been good at guard in his time here, aside from in the run game. Some guys just don’t excel at G, but do at c/t. Like hardrick. Plus we have the ratio ability to go imp. Think you nailed it. I like vanterpool as a guy who can project better as a T and his experience is far superior. But I’m happy they’ve finally realized neuf is toast and made a change. Overall it’s a much improved roster. Kelly listed as hb instead of S is strange. I’m glad he’s healthy and back on the roster.
  11. This game marks the half way point of our season. We have back to backs with B.C. ssk and edm. If we split those series that makes us 5-9 with 4 games to go. 2 games vs ham 1 vs tor and Mtl. So if we split the back to back and win out the rest of the way we make the play offs. Any thing less than that, short of Calgary losing out, would likely have us miss the play offs. We also have all 3 byes and mos teams tend to struggle off a bye. We also have 5 games left on the road where we haven’t won a game all year. All 3 of our bye weeks lead to road games as well. One of those bye week into road games is right in the middle of the last two games of the year which aren’t back to backs. We need to be stealing wins immediately. If we get swept in one of the home and away back to backs that all but mathematically ends our season. meanwhile we are burning weeks of opportunity to change over long in the tooth positions (c, qb, dt, mlb, s.) we can swap out maybe two of those in camp next year and expect to contend but not likely more than that. Not only does our season hang in the immediate balance, our shot at winning the ship at home next year does too.
  12. Jake is the most cooked, he was always a rotational guy. Ba and biggie were the best at their position in the league for several years. Who’s more cooked between biggie and ba? Hard to say. Ba is brutal with his slack tackling and selling out for hits and failing miserably. But, he’s mostly able to keep the top on the D in the middle in pass plays. He makes decent decisions in deep over but can’t cover nearly as much ground as he used to. Biggie similarly is better against the pass, but even at that he asset he’s just a stop gap. He too makes the right decisions but can’t get to spots to make plays. The last wheel could fall off ba any time, biggie I don’t think can or will get worse. S is a higher value spot than mlber. lucky was moved to the gdr, bridges and McGhee thank fully both back to the pr. Likely one more imp to come on. Taking Jake off goes a long way to fixing our line, the thing is to fix our pressure is a bigger issue. Short of finding an elite pass rusher off the edge to play across from wj it won’t get good easily. Wj coasts on soo many of his reps and cheats for knock downs. If his reps were cut down and he focused on pressure first a lot would improve quickly but that won’t happen.
  13. Nope clearly you don’t, and he had two dives here and missed one.
  14. Once, if you understand how a short yardage play works. Depends if you have a competent team or not. with the considerable injury/performance issues the league has seen with vet wrs some one else might make a better offer. Not to mention possibly going to a better team/offence. After a couple off seasons of him being close to leaving then finally leaving we might not want to come back at all especially considering the likelihood that it’s just for half a year and not next year too.
  15. came up short once. Poopkup messed up many times more than that.
  16. Zach could be traded. Either it’d be to a team desperate for a qb, or a qb swap with moderate assets included. Mbt is the prime candidate. Edm may well be willing to move on from mbt whose deal would offer us cap savings. Assuming now that jones is gone they won’t be making silly trades, they’d probably want a real asset. Maybe a mid pick, or they might want some one like eli/dobson/wallace. The dream scenario would be to dump some one like Thomas/biggie/kola too but I doubt they’d go for that now.
  17. I think his intangibles will take him far. If he adds a bit of weight and plays a pass rushing hybrid between dt and de I think he’s a super sub. He could be extremely productive in that role, but he also does a good job getting off tackles and playing the run so he could be a high snap count guy.
  18. I’d bet on rourke kicking around the nfl for a shot the rest of the year. May even get it. The earliest I think he’d be available is next year. Do I think he will automatically go back to the Leo’s? No. Most players say that till they actually get fa offers. Tor, mtl, cal, maybe ask even edm will make competitive offers. Every team in the league is likely to inquire and might even all make offers. The only way we have a slight shot is if zach retires. Rourke will be offered silly money over a long term for sure. Some one will offer 650 maybe even 700 for maybe 4 years. He might decide to chase a deal that gives him an earlier nfl window though. All that said, he should stick atleast as long as strevy did down south.
  19. Rourke cut. Let the hand wringing begin. Even though I very much doubt he will be back In the league this year and we can’t afford him.
  20. Terry Wilson. Qb sneak isn’t some 200iq play that requires a special guy. Other teams don’t run out a special guy on the roster to execute it. Take the hand off follow your ol forward push a bit hold onto the ball.
  21. One game before the mid way point he’s top 5 in the league. He’s been better than just good in 2 games. He’s been schoen esq in 2 games. For a rookie he’s shown tremendous mental toughness determination and improvement. His numbers compare very favourably to rookie Kenny lawler. His catch rate is almost 2/3s which is solid. If he tightens up a bit he will be damn good. I can’t wait to see him take a step forward when the game slows down. He’s pretty much as good a pass catcher as Bailey has ever been as a rookie. Bailey is a beast blocking, a leader, and has a knack for the clutch plays. (In the regular season)
  22. He did one the first two plays but not after that. Vanterpool would be good. I’d give Wallace a shot too.
  23. Seemed performance based imo. I think he might be the first vet to fall.
  24. The D as a unit played really well. That said the argos O was also really bad. We got gashed and didn’t come up big when we needed it. Also flat out dropped 3 picks.
  25. Team dinwiddie slapped the mafia harder than rico jones did a good job Hubert too. But in general the usual domination of the opposition in the trenches we’ve seen. not only did we put up the yards we stopped grant! 1/3 ain’t half bad. But it ain’t half good either. Agree. Walter’s or mos. One needs to go. bad teams find ways to lose games and ruin good performances. Puke
