  1. They could tack on contingencies to his suspension, they could void his contract, other guys have been barred before. Let him fight it in court after the investigation finds he was guilty. In this era you have to come down hard on gambling with in the league and your own games. We've seen other pro leagues do the same.
  2. If you want to catch mos with a gotchya type question it would have to be really well crafted and more based around his rhetoric than any thing. Tricking him into following one of his common lines. He’s soo by the book it is easy to predict but hard to trip up. I think that’s part of the real reason too, he’s not an improv guy and if he gets off rhetoric I think he’d get in deep water quickly with media. Id probably go with some thing around the massive increase in teams playing a 0 tech on the dl vs us and only us with great effect and why we are struggling with that and exchange/twist/stunts inside in pass pro Far easier to photo shop eli into a buds Hell week picture than any thing.
  3. Allegedly 10 out of 11 kickers requested to not have it for kicking in the feed back too. League just ignored it.
  4. https://3downnation.com/2024/06/26/randy-ambrosie-laments-embarrassing-public-comments-by-cfl-kickers-denies-impact-on-microchip-football-rule-change/ more like fans and players lament embarrassing commissioner.
  5. Eli would be the biggest upgrade, since Wallace is raw and eli can help neuf. Also, few dts will want to play 20-30 snaps in 0 tech when facing eli. So we would see more friendly alignments as well. However, as the guy who is frequently not head up on a dt neuf has been brutal. Which is the easier role. My biggest concern with just swapping C is how much worse neuf will likely get. He fights injuries ever year and continues to play but is significantly reduced by late season. Right now he’s as fresh as can be and still immobile and struggling a lot. The question isn’t if with neuf now it’s when. And it will be sooner rather than later. It could be advantageous to make the one switch, work Wallace in more reps with the heavy set, then start Wallace in a few weeks while neuf goes to 6th ol. A lot of change in a short period is hard for the ol.
  6. No doubt, but his mobility on fresh legs is scary bad. He should be captaining that side and he just isn’t. I think at best you hide one ol. It’s harder when it’s a tackle but you can do it. We have the guys to fix c and rg we don’t at Rt imo. I’ll add that with that change our next issue would be 6th ol and heavy set. Kola can’t be the edge guy. Double switching eli to edge and kola to C is a bad idea and risks snap issues. Personally I’d look for an ni ol for the bench, and work with schmekel and hubert on the goal line package.
  7. He hasn't been seeing the same look, teams haven't adjusted to him yet. He can stand up to a bull rush well. He cant do much other than hold in in run pro. same. His quickness would be big. Idk if he has the eyes or mind for it, but we won't know till we try and BA is done, cant be worse than him. Yeah that all pretty much tracks. Too many holes to fill right now. Problems are Kola>>>>Neuf>>>>Lofton. With a better guard beside him lofton might perform better. He signed a 3 year deal going into the 23 season, so he's still under contract for a bit.
  8. We also have kendall Randolph imp ol on the pr. Both are guards that we are trying to convert to RT. Neither is particularly close right now, Vanterpool was prolific in college with an incredible streak not giving up a sack or taking a penalty. He has great size, length and athleticism. Lofton is the same, a good college guard that has been stuck at RT up here. He plays like it too. But he’s 30-31, where as the other two are 25 ish. I don’t think hardrick would be better in pass pro, and no way would I pay him what ssk gave him. But he would be better in run pro. Tbh we should be able to find an imp RT who would be turn key from down south, likely after nfl cuts. I don’t expect we will though because they penned lofton In as starter the moment they signed him.
  9. No doubt that whole side is a mess. That said, holm hasn’t looked good this year either. Ba hasn’t shown any leadership in sorting it out either.
  10. I’d sure say so. It’s not like the old days where the back up ni wr was basically a position less teams guy. Wr is probably the deepest wealthiest ni position in the league today.
  11. Which makes sense. Clercius looks smooth and loaded with potential but he’s far from polished. Brings a lot with out running routes.
  12. https://3downnation.com/2024/06/25/edmonton-qb-mcleod-bethel-thompson-rips-cfl-for-short-weeks-citing-player-safety-concerns/ mbt is a nut, but I totally agree. Short weeks between games and mid week games are the worst in soo many ways. 1 game friday, one Saturday, 2 Sunday and games on holiday long weekends. Design schedules to balance around recovery time and optimizing views/attendance. Scheduling conflicts are primarily with Toronto, who gets no fans any way and what Montreal? Make it work cfl.
  13. Honestly I’ll settle for not having karamoko/ni on at wil/dime and a Canadian dl at the same time. We frequently will have 3-4 Canadians and a global on the field on defense. One play last week I saw 3 ni dl, karamoko, and 2 dbs on the field together.
  14. We’ve struggled with assignments on that side. Don’t switch well etc. we’ve also been using karamoko as a dime on that side on second downs and he’s been real bad, ba as well. With ford you can see the potential, needs a good bit of polishing still. Not worried about him in specific, and happy that it looks like karamoko is coming off the ar. Ba is the big concern in the secondary rn.
  15. Same here, trying to be optimistic about his health. But yeah it’s gonna take some thing big to get the change made unfortunately. Haha! That’s awesome. I followed them casually for a while, I was a big fan of Chris fumatu-maafala, the bus, ward(he was my kind if dirty especially for a wr) polamalu, and the way they approach head coaches. The pats are the modern model of success following in the 9ers mold but the Steelers are a model of consistency and character for a front office.
  16. It isn't though, nor is it that simple. Nik and woli played exceptionally well, and we ran the ball 25 times, which is more than we've completed passes all year long. it's 10 more runs than completed passes we had in ott. Of the 17 attempts to woli and demski only 2 went incomplete, meanwhile they averaged about 11 yards per catch, would you prefer those passes go to wilson? Our offence hasn't been staying on the field, we are averaging less than 20 completions a game. Yet Lawler has as many catches as wheatfall, brady, augustine, and 1 less than wilson. Wilson, has the 4th most catches on the team in the same proportion you saw in previous years for the bottom 3 wrs, 2 of which are generally checks across the field. FInally, the catch rate of the top 3 wrs here is almost 68%, zachs completion % on the year is 61%, wilsons catch rate is 50%. Wilsons is averaging 5.4 yards per catch. Wheatfall was replaced by strevy, who did get a target, and clercius who took over woli's job of chipping and blocking, which meant more targets for woli down field. It isn't a suprise, that when you have 3 of your best wrs on the year go down that you suffer at wr. especially when you don't have a lot of roster depth at wr. Zach isn't doing a good job of checking down, but our passing schemes, like dagger concept, will have 3 ish targets in the line of site of the primary ready. Zach reads the down field back. They do a good job of mixing different spots through those concepts to keep the ball spread amongst targets. This is part of why wheatfall had such a great game. He was working down field a couple times, coming back to the ball and separating. This is exactly why lawler demski and schoen have worked great with zach from day 1 as well. I've seen zach miss open guys off the primary read area, but not once has that guy been wilson or Mitchell. Mitchell has seen few reps in the O compared to wilson. Could be vet day for Eli, seems like we are rotating guys through it right now. I have a feeling we will see a lot more of burnt alexander, until after the first 1/3rd is over any way.
  17. Maybe trying to keep brady pissed off and hungry? LOL
  18. That isn't the case with Zach. Last year he had 6 guys between 38-71 catchest. The difference in catches, despite lawlers missed games, among the top 3 was just 21 catches. The difference in the bottom 3 was 9 catches. We had a 4 way tie for 2nd place in receiving Tds with 6. Top 3 guys between 900 and 1200 yards, bottom 3 between 668 and 482. That is not relying on one or two guys to do all the work. Even the guys below the top 6 all had big games, agudosi, bolo, gmc.
  19. It's the CFL, that does happen. Jason maas didn't earn a HC job after being fired as an OC, but he got it any way. And he's made the most out of it. Are you familiar at all with how plays are called? The cos don't just dictate what the team is doing while the HC watches. The large portion of plays in the first half are practiced and prepped the week leading up to the game. The install and bases are formed after position and group meetings in a meeting with the Cos and Coaches. The HC largely operates the subs, and will call to go for it, run, pass etc. Different Hcs have different levels of input in different aspects. The Cos though, work for the HC. The HC has final say in all things game day.
  20. We might never know the nature of the power balance between wade walters and mos. Any way you cut it though, I don't think walters could've done much with mos prior to this year. He had all the leverage. That should be changing now. Time will tell if they are all in the boat together, or if mos has been rowing them down towards the rapids. 100%. Falling into a generationally good team has people forgetting that roster management, amongst other things, has always been an issue. If any thing, I think Mos has regressed as a HC from the days before zach. He had a big impact early on with our teams being consistently the best punt/kick and cover unit in the league, and in the mid season overhaul of halls D as well. We went from a team that couldnt win, to a team that won with some cloak n dagger stuff, to a team where the D expected to carry us to wins and where ever time the ball was kicked we gained considerable field position. People forget that in the matt nichols era, we had the best 3 job kicker in league history. Medlock was years ahead of the curve in punting, and for most of his career the most accurate kicker in league history. 50 yard fg into the wind? automatic. Need 7 fgs to win? No problem. Our D, shattered records for forced turn overs for 3 ish years. We scored with insane regularity on D, and our O played on half a field for the most part. That team was built to grind down the clock on O, with teams yielding insane amounts of yardage, while the D won the game. Then all of a sudden you add a QB who can hit tight windows down field and loved to take deep shots, which aided in developing guys like lawler and schoen, and a D that still expected to have to win the game them self. The biggest battle we saw for a couple years in bomber games wasn't our team vs another, it was our O vs our D to see who would carry the day. But the D quickly took a back seat to the high scoring offence, and then the O now expected to carry the load suffered from loses and age. Mos was atleast aggressive and coached to win prior to the GCs, even if plop and hall were passive in play styles. Mos doesn't produce a good roster and make the most of his assets, and hasn't in a single game in ages. He doesn't have his team chomping at the bit and ready to go at kick off. The culture has become one that is content even in defeat.
  21. He isn't doing it on purpose, he has bought into his own propaganda. No one is saying its 100% mos. Even the most critical on here are saying that walters and wade need to deal with this. That said, the talent was there. Walters has been pruning Mos boys club the last two off seasons. To an extent, you want the new guys to win spots from the old guys in camp. That brings a ton of value, vs cutting guys and having rookies battle rookies for the spot. We had all the talent at every position save punter to fix our issues. The huge majority of the problem, is mos. Because it isn't just roster problems, our coaching is poor, our team plays flat as hell, and our prep is poor. Many factors out side of the roster are hurting us, and those all fall on mos. The roster isnt calling plays that don't work for the squad we field. The roster, isnt having us kill clock before we get what we need from the drive. The roster isn't having us not run the ball in the red zone. The roster isn't why this team feel comfortable losing. The roster isn't why we can't adjust in game, or to what teams have been doing to counter us since last year.
  22. I don’t think mos will pull the ripcord, I think it’ll have to come from above him. I think the point Walter’s and co will have their hand forced is in the next 3 games if we win less than 2. That will see attendance plummet, and us put in a position where we need to win out to control our destiny. The two game series with bc followed by a couple weeks later is hard not to split at the best of times. The rip cord should include getting rid of guys like Thomas biggie neuf kola and ba. And any under whelming rookies like Wilson, for air lifts. How old was bob cameron when he retired? 48? Jake’s still young!
  23. Yeah but we all know training camp and pre season have no value. I look forward to the day we can call him the punted
