  1. You can see some of it on the bombers yt, mos was asked about it and commented a bit in his usual way.
  2. Interesting to hear big Kev talk about how much better this years play book is compared to last. Especially from a year 2 guy. Seemed to be a lot of friction between Buck and the offence last year. Zach had a few eye raising comments in the off season about relationships with oc position and expectations. Similarly, Jackson’s comments about his relationship with zach, and how he views coaching QBs (not micro managing) sounds like a lot of his hiring was that fit both with hogan as an ast but also with the room.
  3. I think that would be a good move to, I like Vaval as a db and a returnman. I think he's in a spot where that wont happen till the KR and or Bridgesc craps out. Imo, they are locked in on vanterpool too. he's been with the 1s most the whole time. I would go Bailey in for sure, I think they might go with wallace over the 2nd global as a 7th ol though because we like that and we have run really thin at DL especially imp dl for the past few years. I don't think Weitz brings any thing in particular. He should be a warm global body incase some crazy rash of injuries happens and not much more. Id much rather have cobb return and cooley DI to be used situationally and rotationally. Maybe that happens eventually.
  4. I wouldn't start Mitchell based on salary. Maybe you give him an extended look because of what he did in the past and maybe you think he had a bad camp, in that case I'd take off sterns. I wouldn't take off wheatfall for him.
  5. The big outlier is Wilson. At least Thomas will be relegated to a sub role this year. I think the likely sub-outs will be Vaval/Mitchell (likely Vaval), Woods/Adams (Woods), and Ayers/Jjones (Ayers). If we aren't starting Wallace, I think he is a strong candidate to come off the bench, as well as Kornelson in general. Novak should be a strong candidate to sub out as well, but I don't think he will be. Otherwise, I think Bailey for Weitz has a good chance of happening, or Weitz for Wallace. I don't think it'll be optimal, but I think it'll be a solid lineup, especially for us breaking camp. I'm not sure using a DI on Mitchell to return over Cobb is great usage. Or just starting Mitchell over Sterns. I'd much rather have Bailey and Person on the AR, and I'd bump Birdges, too. But starting slow with changes isn't terrible. I think we need to see a good bit from a few guys early in this season to keep younger guys off the roster. Vaughters, Woods, Wilson, Jones, Bridges, and Parker, namely. I like some of those guys, but they have a good push coming from behind on the depth chart.
  6. It is odd, but maybe that’s a good sign.
  7. 100%. but will he break ajs record for most rushing yards in their first game with a new team whose team name starts with R, and when the sun is up but not all the way out?
  8. Yeah think aj is toast. Riders get better and cheaper.
  9. And riders sign Mr 18th best player in the league Carey. It’s a good move though. Especially with aj ego lifting gymbro hurt.
  10. Agree. He’sa run to throw guy like zach. I think condell will do well with brown. Alexander has a strong advantage in Montreal, I suspect the ALs will be a lot better, but brown will probably have much better stats. But rourke will get all the publicity of the 3.
  11. His longest run here in the regular season was just under 20 for a first and he had a run slightly longer in pre season. Not only did he run for some firsts here, he had some great run and throw plays. He also had over 300 in his first year of college with a long of 62 yards. He’s a run to throw guy, but he’s fully capable of picking up a first with his legs if needed.
  12. He isn’t a run first guy, but he is plenty mobile.
  13. Brown is also getting a fraction the support in offence Alexander is. If you swapped places I think brown would look insane and while Alexander would run for more yards he’d struggle more. But at that, it’s great to finally see the next crop of young QBs stepping up in the league. Brown and Alexander are well above rourke imo in every thing but hype. But still that’s the best 3 young starting QBs we’ve seen in the league in a long time.
  14. I think he will have a job up here as long as he wants. Be it scouting/player development, or one of many position coaching spots. He might just not be cut out of be a hc though. Having him as a position coach like wr, and an extra scout in the off season, while being able to assist a CO, is one of the best values you could want under the coaching cap.
  15. He first broke into head coaching in 2015 as the interim hc of ssk. He’s been the rbs hc since 22. Two full seasons plus almost a half. We are way way past learning quickly on the job. I love bobby dyce. Great football mind, excellent talent evaluator, tremendous guy. He’s been coaching in the league for 22 years and he’s already 2.5 into this hc job. The leash is gonna be real short on him, and if it doesn’t work out he doesn’t likely get another hc shot short of some thing miraculous.
  16. Arbuckle is still the same guy he always was. An underachieving Matt nichols.
  17. Same as any other sport in that age range up.
  18. Yes, he was. Either would be a huge upgrade imo. Really like brown.
  19. This. I love Jake's career here. When he was in rotations here, he was a great piece to have. The role change to go away from him as a backup, and go away from an Imp nose, is not his fault. If I were him, I wouldn't want to walk away from playing either. I hate that we ride guys' careers into the dirt and have them walking away broke and incapable rather than going out as a hero. I think he's debatably playable this year in the cfl. I think he'd be better in the same reps than Schmek for sure. With way more upside. If he progresses going into next year any anything close to what he did last year to this year, he will easily make the AR next year.
  20. Honestly, I'm more worried about Kola (as always) Kyrie, and bridges. It seems like Jake will be a rotational back up as he should with Lawson taking the primary nose reps. Jake might be fine if he's palying more 3t in limited snaps next to an imp nose like woods/adams. Shankylegs, I don't think punting is going to play into our success a lot early. I think the offence will look very good and the D even better. On teams I'm more worried about KR, and the cover team improving from pre season.
  21. Injuries happen; it's not predictable. In his first five seasons as a starter, he missed a total of nine games. Last year he missed 8. I don't think injuries were a big factor in moving on from him. I think it's just the case that Clercius was ready to step into the same role for drastically cheaper and offer brilliant upside. Sometimes you make a move that isn't good on paper at the time, woli (ended up signing cheap), stove, lawler, that ends up working out in the end because guys don't stay healthy or have a pile of issues. Other times, you make moves that are good on paper, bringing Lawler back, not chasing Couture, not chasing Desjarlais, that don't work out because of unforeseen issues or replacements not going as well as expected. I'm a big believer that luck is the residue of hard work. A lot of our moves end up being fortunate, even if they weren't seen as great moves at first, because the front office is always grinding. Probably right. Woli would play on one leg with no hands if you let him. And he'd still provide a more reliable target than a ton of guys. Personally, knowing what Woli got, I would've walked away from Demski and moved Woli/Clercius into a heavier targeted role, while saving in the range of 125k in salary. But I do get moving on from Woli. It'll be really interesting to see what we want from WRs this year. Previously, Bourgoin, who was basically a clone of Lapo, seemed to have a big impact on the WR types. From what little Hogan showed in camp and PS, I'm certainly expecting a more dynamic passing game with more YAC and more sweep/motions again.
  22. This is what happens when we get a bye week in week 1. Off-season discussion mode 2.0 lmao.
