  1. It’s easy because the market is saturated with high talent guys and rbs generally aren’t converted position guys. Ike has about 100 college carries and under 500 rush yards despite his years down south. That isn’t plug and play as we well saw in pre season. That’s not how blocking assignments work at rb. That’s how they work at the line. RBs have to read the pressure on both sides, evaluate who has the fastest path, which isn’t automatically the inside guy, pick up a block and half the time here block and release. Augustine still can’t do it, neither can stanback. Spending time as a back up doesn’t earn you a starting job. Karamoko has been here longer than most of the rest of the dbs. Augustine can run, but isn’t able to push the pile and grind out yards which is what our offence needs, and can’t pass pro which is as important. No ones mad about Kevens being on the roster, he had 600 yards in almost 40 games of college ball. He isn’t a top threat but he doesn’t need to be for his role here. Or to slide woli over and play wolis role.
  2. That was a big part of what made me sick about it. Basically, no matter the reality of the situation, mos will think Zachs the best. Another guy who will have to be carried off the field and roster. A big part of the job of a HC, is making the hard decisions with players. Do not recommend lol
  3. This is 100% true. I’d bet we were in 30 fronts more than 40 last week.
  4. Yep sure would be nice. imagine running a bear front with, wj pass rushing on the nose, Adam’s and Oakman playing 2 technique, then Habba in a 5 taking a tight angle speed rush around the edge and Cole on the other side taking a wide angle speed route around the tackle on the other side. 5 rushers, massive disruption in the pocket. You could drop guys out of that look, twist guys, run a 1 and 2i/3 twist, you can have a mac spy and play a decent medium zone in case an A gap running route opens. But most qbs don’t want the risk of a 5 yard gain running through an interior gap.
  5. All we have to do is wait for a generationally good roster to overcome his weaknesses! lol. this type of roster management/mediocre acceptance is a good way to build up another 20-30 year steak with out a ship.
  6. Lawler, the huge deals to biggie at times, wj, jj we’ve spent lots of premium 100-125k on fringe roster guys while going cheap on dbs. Qbs make that money for starting the cfl. 500k is NOT in the mike Reilly bc contract range hurting the team. Like I said previously in the off season, the move to make was keep brown and bring stevy back while trading Zach away. At some point you have to go young at qb. Better to get value, keep a home grown talent and have a change of pace valuable back up who can take over in case of failure, than riding a mid 30 qb into his careers grave. We would’ve saved impactful money, moved on from more vets, and might’ve been better this year over all any way.
  7. Boy we better not leave Augustine on the field a lot in pass pro or zachs gonna have a worse game than last week. Augustine gets hurt our run game is done for too. why keep on ayers who gets no snaps over woods? Why carry soo many Imp wrs that won’t see the field or the ball? I have a sickly sinking feeling about this game
  8. Hated soo much of that interview. Every coach and style has a shelf life. Some times you can shake it up with management changing the tone, mark frequently you have to make a painful change. I don’t see us missing the play offs unless some thing crazy happens at qb, and I don’t see us making a change like that this year or maybe next too.
  9. Yep different guy. He did however have a very good career as a kr down there and had couple sick plays up here. His diving grab in the end zone for one. he was a guy with nutty speed, ran track with Vinny Sutherland who was here similar time and I think Santana moss. Ohh snap. I do love db but he’s better in pre game post game stuff.
  10. Marion would actually be worth a look imo. Roster him instead of schmekel, gives us a back up rotational ni de who contributes on teams. Salary, age, and the fact they have young talented guys to who stepped in.
  11. I love what the guy brings. But it’s pretty low priority Imo. Adam’s is a monster woods is damned good. Fox is a beast. Thomas has compromising pictures of mos. Oakman Adam’s fox rotation would be insane.
  12. He doesn’t get along with losing attitudes. He was beloved in the locker room and by coaches here, with the broncos and with the vols. He’s a no nonsense kind of guy and calls out bs as he sees it.
  13. Edm ott ssk are the prime candidates imo. First team to move on ringmaiden will be very very happy. QFT Teams and D each played to win the game solo. O alternated between playing to win and game managing. But all 3 phases put in the work to be the reason we won. None seem to be in that position now. Sad but true.
  14. That’s a fair point. In that case they should’ve brought him in during the off season. Let him set the tone in camp. Hard to lead joining a team mid season. Kongbo would’ve been even better for that imo.
  15. 100%. If you are an agent that reps football players, and you have an imp rb, and we offer them a deal going into camp, what do you do? Get this guy to up root his life go to another country, risk injury for modest money and no chance at playing? I suspect the large portion of good prospects we sign are neg list. Come here or no cfl, or low level guys playing d2 and lower or schools that barely register when it comes to football. We managed to bring in a bunch of long term nl guys with tons of upside this camp, and hardly any are left. I don’t have hope that we will have such a bumper crop next year. Even cfl vets. Who wants to come here? We bring in guys like Rosie and Muhammad, and leave them on the pr while struggling at their position. We had a lot of trouble attracting key free agents prior to 19/21. We got spurned by virtually every major fa wr. Biggie fell to us because when he left the nfl we were the team with an opening and cap spend. We made wj the highest paid dl in the league. A guy like McManis would never sign here given another option in the league. We even passed on lemon to play a dt at de which bit us in the butt last year. Our only chances at improving are vets retiring and leaving no option, vets leaving in fa for over pay leaving no option, hitting the lotto in the cfl draft, and guys becoming all stars late in their career. Some one in the top end of the mafia needs to put on some big boy pants and lay down the law. Improving the team is more important than having the team self coach accountability, more important than nationality, more important than the old boys club, and more important than being comfortable.
  16. Ott signs Winston rose. Surprising with better young fa dbs available. But bomber dumpster diving.
  17. Qft I have no hope for that happening. along with a bunch of other guys. Thomas will have to be carted off to stop playing.
  18. He was that lost for reason in ssk too. Some of his answers to such questions just awful back then. I didn’t think he had the ssk mild career come back in him or the big one here. So I hope he again proves me wrong. But damn I’m worried. They are really good. However Zach was tossing gutter balls all over the place and missing reads badly. And missing open guys. Really gotta hope it’s rust.
  19. Yeah I mean it’s really how things soured quickly and how he responded to the bombers wanting accountability and a reasonable contract. Bad attitude and stuff I think is a bit over blown. He’s a great guy and player I have a lot of love for him. I don’t think he was a fifo problem while under contract here. I think he expected us to be happy with him no matter what and he clearly was not physically up to it any more. zachs interview on bonfire sports makes me feel sick. Had the guys and the looks felt good felt ready just missed some times you miss. Idk what to expect him to say but that isn’t it. He really needs to have a big game vs ott to take the taste out of people’s mouthes or it’s gonna get ugly quick.
  20. If he was a bit more healthy and doing his off season stuff with a better attitude I think we would’ve lost Brady to the remnants of Harris. Both got banged up too though. Darby they let walk once before as well. Rose is I think the closest, but i think that was injury related. If you go back I’d say maybe mo? But he was related to recovering from injury as well.
  21. Has that ever happened here under mos though? All I can recall is us letting guys go in FA like drake to go to stove.
  22. Excellent point. Old boys club lives on. If Walter’s doesn’t end their time here, or they leave vis free agency, only injury costs vets Jobs here still. Most of the teams in the league have made a move this year to elevate a new guy above a rook. Meanwhile we get older and less durable. none of whom Walter’s resigned. If mos was the gm, I think they’d all be back. They weren’t. Walter’s said we needed to get younger. Guys were offered deals. No one else grabbed jj or gray.
  23. agree 100%. What happens if augustine gets nicked up? We go with the guy who rushed barely 100 times in college who we know runs too upright and can't aim? If he comes off the roster then what? If mitchell goes down who can return punts? What if WJ goes down? Nahh, if thomas got hurt they'd start schmekel, activate samson, and send down one of the imp DTs to the PR... lol
  24. He makes a good point for sure. I think Mitchell has earned some ire, but by no means should be at the end of his leash. He can atleast catch punts which is an upgrade over some of the guys we ran out previously when grant was hurt. Which is a big reason why we need to airlift in a KR or two, if mitchell gets hurt it's gonna get soo much worse real fast. Gauthier barely played on D. Kyrie played the vast majority of the Mac reps. I think we are having to come to terms very quicky with the fact the team is not nearly as well coached as people believed. Mos is a culture setter in a big way. But that culture is locked in right now and maintained for better or worse by the locker room. Toronto beat us with a worse team in 22 based on significantly better coaching. Mtl, handled us twice in coaching as well. Buck is still a young OC, he's shown a lot of promise and his share of struggles. He isn't by any means ready to be a HC yet. He could really use an OC mentor imo. He's better at Plop than plop was at all his strengths. Game plan, XnOs, creativity, rolling in new looks etc. But he's still struggling where plops career has died multiple times. When the D is prepared and has a decent game plan we don't have the tactics to manufacture drives and dig our way out, building that momentum from a stalled point, and adjusting is huge. JY is super promising and I loved a lot of what I saw from the D last week, he's even younger (lol) but he has a great mentor and I wouldn't be surprised to see him pass buck in progress. The one real weakness was the struggle of that side of the D with assignments and decision making. JY will fix that, starting two canadian cover Dbs is crazy, but I think we are married to the concept for atleast a few weeks. I'm sure that Ford and that side of the D will play better vs ott. I think expectations are too high on MCI. Rbs are generally pretty turn key, but even brady was a work in progress. MCI was really positionless his last year in college and never the featureback kind of guy. He's an athlete with a great mindset and work ethic who is a work in progress. I don't expect much of him till next year. This is why I thought he was a none factor for us pre draft. I thought his time table, and how high he'd go would price us out. But I can't blame them for loving his tools.
