  1. I don’t agree. Either would be an upgrade, but every one has played a nose against us going back to mid to late last year and ravaged the pocket. I think going imp at guard would be fine, Wallace could slide in and be an upgrade too. He has some struggles to endure and a learning curve but he has tremendous upside and looked fantastic in pre season game one. 19 Collaros was a different animal for sure. I don’t think it’s some physical issue preventing him from running, though he could certainly have lost a step and he was never crazy fast. He’s soo hesitant, and just tucks it right away so the D pins their ears back when they see it. I do suspect Zachs hand has never been the same going back to last year. Twice last year and once the year before he hit his throwing hand bad on helmets during the follow through. Could be part of the hesitant thing though. But the ball looks terrible leaving his hand this year. He hasn’t just struggled with touch this year or accuracy it’s been both and under throwing virtually every window. It’s hard to say how much is rust (he clearly has been struggling with game speed) how much is deterioration, and how much is supporting cast. If we fix the ol and get weapons healthy things will improve. But I don’t expect to see the guy who scores a td on every drive while cruising to 400/4 and an early to mid 4th quarter exit.
  2. My picks seem messed up/ lost for some reason.
  3. Streveler again! Till I lose out. @Jpan85 I did put in for strevy in week 1 as well, I should have 2 strikes.
  4. Keep in mind we gave up 130 rush yards and 6plus yards per carry while generating 2 sacks. Our was better in preseason with out Thomas. O is the big worry for sure though. We have run some fast stuff with success with him, problem is he only sticks to it for soo long. It’s like not throwing deep tears him up in side lol.
  5. Same here. I expect mostly across the board position for position swaps on the AR.
  6. WJ is still impactful, when he has the proper supporting cast. But with his dependence on them and his tendency to get lost roving/playing for PKDs, I don't think he should be a top dollar guy. Also having his family here full time I don't think free agency would have the lure it once did for him, not to mention he isn't getting younger. I think the 285 for lawler that was re negotiated down from I think 315, is still too much. My biggest concern with him is staying on the field. He's a beast other wise, though the offence really seems to go from relying on him to forgetting about him. I don't think buck has done a good job of integrating schoen and lawler at the same time. He's certainly what we need more of, especially with how much football he should have left in him. Buck is still young for coaching life, being 42. This is his 4th year as an OC full time though, the inconsistency in things like running, schemes, adjustments, and route concepts worries me.
  7. Never been a fan of having the punter hold. Let a QB do it and leave your self options. Watch if augustine can't go they will start MCI LOL. Who is taking the rb spot in practice?
  8. Opps yeah thats right. Even if we get 6 games of relief, it's too late for that money to make a real impact. But I think we will have few guys actually finish the 6 game stint. Our cap distribution is hamstrung by a bunch of old guys who can't produce or aren't used. We need to fix the roster management, but we also need to fix some cap issues. We are stuck between competing and getting younger only we aren't competing right now. And it's only going to get hotter in bomber town, if we don't hit a win streak right away it will be damn hard to be above .500 after the BJB.
  9. Agree with all of that. Of those two, bolo is the one I wish we couldve kept. He's got the upside, demski is old and has had a lot of injury issues plus I don't see woli playing into old age or a wheel chair. I wonder if we still would've jumped into FA and brought in a big time player on D, I kind of doubt it. But that would've been the move imo. Idk, Yoshi is over the hill cant stay healthy and to pay him drastically more than big stan isn't in line with how we do things. Thats a good point. That was an ugly stretch of games too. At Zachs age though, I don't think changing will happen. If we moved on from Zach in the of season, we could've traded him for a significant value as well. I don't think 600k is crippling, I think what cripples us is how many fringe guys we pay premium money to. Like how much we spent between augustine and BO last year. Also, ach has taken a reduction in salary to the 600k. I'm guessing he is in the 550k range now at least, which is pretty standard. Right around 10% of the salary cap. Biggie is making 165, WJ 200k, lawson 140k, jake for sure north of 100k, kramdi making 140k, neuf north of 100k for sure, probably 240 between bo and augustine this year, 3 of the top 4 wrs combining for around 740k. We have a LOT of over paid guys, even sergios hard money is a good chunk more than any other K/P in the league coming close to 150k.
  10. ohh thats interesting I might have to try that! QFT LOL
  11. Never seen it done and look ok.
  12. Ahhh that makes some sense. Kinda fishy but I don’t know that they’d get more from rose than from our film last year with the jy change. Sucks for rose. I gotta think that’s it for him now up here. You can before the cut date, after that they’d need to be bought out i think. You can keep them around and having them on the 6 game is optional. Doesn’t cost the sms but player is still paid. Really depends on if you think the player makes your roster after the injury or not. Any doubt might as well cut and let them rehab a lone. Some times, players also want to rehab at home on their own vs rehab at the facility with team staff.
  13. He did. And he was roughed up to a great degree in his first several games. He’s been sacked in the cfl the equivalent of one good years worth of protection but with out one years worth of starts. His sacks per games with decent snaps is actually not great, because when he’s been in teams blitz like crazy. He doesn’t need to be great to be a better decision than Zach, he basically just needs to not be a bust. If his ceiling is Matt Nichols average he’d be a better pick. We have seen enough to know he can manage a game, drive the field on the last possession to win a game, beat the blitz and take what the D gives him. All things we have seen from Zach in about half a years worth of games. He can also beat teams deep and complete any pass on the field.
  14. You’ve clearly missed his first several appearances. Especially his first year appearances. It isn’t a small amount of playing time that can’t be used to gauge him, it got him the lead of a franchise and qb1 money.
  15. Interesting that the rbs cut rose to sign McFadden
  16. He wouldn’t be holding the ball and trying to force it down field. Bingo. Brown is generally more cerebral as a qb as well. Zach is a force it down field gun slinger. He’s more susceptible to suffering from pressure on style alone. Browns release is quicker and he’s more efficient at reading the D.
  17. It isn’t soon though, it’s a long time coming. Lost the last 5 games in a row including the gc and two gcs in a row. we aren’t. Not when we are healthy and we are miles from healthy. Biggie ba kyrie Thomas wouldn’t make atleast 7-8 other teams. Neuf lofton(riders didn’t bring back) kola Augustine rookie wr none of them would either. And then Zach is the worst rated passer in the league this year. The tipping point on football talent 30+ hits extremely fast and drops right off a cliff. That’s happened to us. Goose and suhk too.
  18. Lmao that’s a great way to describe it. Same here.
  19. put strev in with Collaros. First down, run the bread and butter inside zone option with an iso corner play side with dalton, strev on jet motion. 2nd down Demski at r, Motion him out, and strev in, early sweep motion for play action pump the play side then draw to strev weak side counter. 3rd down if it isn’t a goal line push, pa to Demski on jet motion starting pre Snap, then toss him a screen to the wide side. Get it out early and make a db try to keep him out. They could’ve traded Collaros for a tidy sum. No matter what happens with Zach, the only way giving up on brown works out is if brown ends up a bust. If he isn’t a bust we let him walk for a guy who is about to turn 36. The only higher failure rate than young qbs getting their first shot at starting is keeping qbs closer to 40 then 30.
  20. Jameison? Nah. Cadawaller has been our best teams guy in both games. We gave up almost 14 yards per punt in return, the 47 he was punting wasn’t great by any means. He had one really good punt that’s it.
  21. I get what you’re saying, but normally it isn’t hard to get tc guys back. They are looking at no football and a very slim chance of an nfl look next year.
  22. With the hash mark change you always have windows to complete passes in the cfl now. If you throw as the wr breaks to the side line and lead them it can’t defended if executed properly. Qbs are up to 75% completion now. We aren’t running good schemes for sure, but we are running much of what we usually run. Yeah. Touch on the ball can become fickle with age and hand injuries. Khari lost it and that was his real trade mark skill.
  23. It is, but it’s not the entire picture. Because he’s a 36 year old multi mop multi gc winning hof bound qb. Every game qbs deal with adversity. The job is to over come it especially when you are given a chance to succeed. The bounce back in game is every thing. That’s how the position works. If you need every thing to be ideal to succeed you aren’t a starter quality qb. That’s even just football. You can’t be broken to the point you can’t succeed when the defense doesn’t beat you. There are qbs that do that. Brown did it for us in the Edmonton game last year. Crumb did it to us. Fajardo has done it. Vaj either wins bc their games or loses them.
  24. To me it’s either, lazy because he’s here, they liked him best and didn’t care about the tc/pr evaluation, he’s basically become an old boys type guy being around, or the other two guys especially rivers did not want to come back to sit on our pr. Not a lot of good causes. I can certainly see a combination of lazy local old boys club being a factor. I can also see a guy like rivers who was one of our best ends in pre season not being willing to come up and sit on the pr. Bunch of guys didn’t get a fair shake then with reps in game why would that change now? he has been in coverage when not blitzing, that’s why he’s less visible now. he’s talented no doubt. Rivers story and accomplishments are no less impressive. I mean we had a ton of highly accomplished front 6 guys in camp.
  25. Love smith back hope he’s good to go. Really strange to cut him if he’s healthy already though. fayad is a strange pick. Why not rivers or even upshaw? Wasn’t fayad an early cut too? How do we not bring back rosery still lol. Yep fayad was hurt the first day of rookie camp and cut early but stayed around to rehab.
