Just meeting the quota for the day of posts on the forum about self loathing for being a fan on a forum. The off season quota this year has seemingly been pretty high but I think it’s going down with actual football going on.

I agree with that. We badly need an injection of qb talent in this league. Some team, needs to take a risk. No ones gonna though. That’s true. Play offs every one was banged up. Despite all the light work weeks at the end. Or even in Hamilton before sask. that was ugly. Talent wise that team turned it around though Imo, Zach wouldn’t haven’t lasted the year in bc last year. I think he’s a retired. Brady, would’ve been just as good in to as here. Aj here would’ve been a beast too. Vaj here is real interesting. He’s the only qb more boom or bust than Zach last year. But instantly better pass pro, drastically less expectation with support from the running game and wrs, plus buck being able to game plan for vaj feet. I think vaj would’ve been better here than bc with less terrible games, and would’ve flashed some nutty upside. IF he could fifo. Idk if he could though. Strevy being back and able to sub in when the offence is stagnant with out a full qb change and controversy. But it’s also a double edged sword. If we do it when the O has momentum it can kill zachs groove. Which is fickle as all qb groves are. We saw that in the past with plop, buck has a big threat added but has to carefully balance the use of that set.

People say fairly often here that brown was a product of the system. Does any one say that of Zach? If Zach was in bc would he be in the mop race? Would Brady be less of a candidate if he was in Toronto last year?
-
True, but I mean even in the regular season he was feast or famine. It was td every drive or games like edm with multiple picks / pick 6 streak.
-
It’s going to be interesting to see how brown does in ott. I was firmly in the position to deal away Zach, bring in strevy and let he and brown battle to lead us into the future. Build for next year, but then also spend a couple hundred thousand on a big vet fa or two.
-
You surely have to admit he was feast or famine last year, and sure wasn’t feast mode in the playoffs.
-
Qft. that’d be great too. As long as those guys aren’t sent packing. 100%. Clearly no concern with assessing our O. Really makes me wonder at wr. I bet they are 90% sure already who will start.
-
I think it was back and forth but rbs, no matter how elite, don’t beat out top level qbs for mop/mvp. Zach had a couple bananas Games last year that are classic mop stuff the rest was kind of so so. (Which is still top tier qbing in the cfl right now) Brady was full on beast mode the whole season. My vote, hands down goes to Brady.

It’s very clear now why we didn’t cut guys heavily in the last week. We are starting those guys this year. I hope that part of starting the replacements team isn’t because a bunch of the vet projected starters are nursing injuries. Happens more with older guys, I really don’t want to see us roll out a bunch of old guys who are rusty and 70% healthy. I love Willy j, but mid to late season it’d be smart to have him rotate with both those guys. He’s soo much better when fresh, and even more effective when hes able to move around and force the other team to adjust playing off edge. Kongbo used to play nearly as many snaps. We could throw him in for a dt, use him as a jack all kinds of stuff.

Yep. We sent kramdi some but in the db blitz package not as a jack lber. Honestly I’d rather Kramdi learn S in pre season and start over Hallett too. That’s what it looks like to me as well with habba. I think garbutt is better and more well rounded but they might end up in that role swap with time. Yeah thatd be great im pulling for Adams hard. Good point I forgot he was here the year prior. Again I would use this chance to get guys like him looks at S and out of position work if they don’t need chemistry work with other guys. But building that chemistry would be vital. Especially with the cut team.

I think barring a catastrophe in pre season game part 2, we will see Cole and an imp lber at mac and Sam. With Thomas I have no hope. I think our week 1 starting D will be mcghee Nichols hallett holm ford kyrie moses cole Habba thomas fox wj Not how I’d go, but I think that happens. I’d say petrishen and garbutt as DIs with that roster. It’s also strange we haven’t been playing holm in the pre season. I don’t get it second year guys need reps.
-
Cole is like Kramdi but better at every thing. I dont hate kramdi, I think he’s a perfect guy to have as the extra db. Rather than carrying a career sts guy who rosters as a S and can’t cover, we have a guy who can slide in and cover as well as play in the box.

I honestly laughed soo hard when I saw the offensive depth chart. For the most part we are starting team 3, and guys who will be cut. Idr ever seeing a team go from half starters to one quarter from ps1 to ps game 2. This is the most preseason roster I’ve seen in a long time. It’s an odd choice to go full pre season in both games. I guess it’s to give the biggest chance to play to the guys battling for spots on the ar and pr. I feel bad for those wrs though. That’s going to be the hardest position to evaluate fairly. defense isn’t as bad. Only dressing 3 ends but I’m guessing we will see both Adams and schmekel in the edge some. Soo strange not to give garbutt and habba snaps. I don’t get that. They’ve locked up the two de spots that’s cool, but both need reps imo. I like how the lbers are listed. Glad cole ford mcghee. Only two S is strange but maybe they’ll slide some one else back for some reps. Especially with one being mccarthy. Idk if he’s got much of a chance to be a cfl player out side of maybe a teams guy. He’s a fringe tc pre cut roster guy. No Hallett is strange if they are actually gonna start him.

Check the play by play, he was in for the 2nd Q of both those games and they were closed out by other qbs lol
-
Youre looking at the end of the quarter, not the start. He lead TD drives in the 2nd quarter of pre season games both those years.
-
Both those games zach took considerable snaps in the pre season, check it out.
-
I get why you say that, but the lack of preparedness and execution in the biggest games gives me pause. In general he has been we prepared to start the season as a bomber, but also flat starts has been a problem on this squad especially post 21.

Back in the early 2ks when it was online and by phone it was really fast after the first round. -
Sure I mean you ideally want to show a wide range of play making skills. Great catches, great routes, speed to separate, hard earned yac plays. High effort plays I think are really under rated. Most of the time it’s the players scores, longest plays and some of their best grabs.

No joke. Pretty productive for a guy who always had to make hard catches seemingly. Even when wide open.
-
Mos was saying today he is optimistic that Brady will be practicing for week 1. Im torn on Zach. Normally he takes a half. He was far from his best in the play offs again. If he’s sitting I expect him to not be rusty to start week 1. I do like the idea of strevy having say a half with team 1/2. And another quarter and a half or so for Wilson and some reps for Grainger too.
-
Any one got a guess on brady being lower body, upper body, or that dreaded thorax?
-
Lawler already renegotiated his contract which will come down further next time, not go up or stay the same. He will be much closer to demski and schoen salary. I'm not concerned with our ability to keep both next year.

Hard to imagine a successful come back now, not impossible but highly un probable. Too bad.
