  1. Yep. He hasn’t been a T for a long long time. If he was 28 maybe you look at it seriously. Any year/Game could be his last. Ep?
  2. He isn’t, but he isn’t worse than Lofton either. I’d go Eli at guard and neuf at T rather than Lofton at guard. But really we need to get rid of atleast one pr ol and bring in a real T.
  3. Wasn’t him, he didn’t get any returns in the pre season. Passing game has to adjust and expect a lot more second and longs. I don’t expect him to see 15-20 carries any way though. I think we will see a lot more sweep, strevy etc.
  4. This is what I expected. Should’ve been more severe but he’s hurt any way.
  5. I went in looking for a new one but wasn't happy with the mid off season selection. But they generally come out with a couple really nice ones through out the year. I do wish we could order them with the designs in any lay out we want. The 19 GC hat is beautiful, but that flat brim eww. Hate snap backs too personally, love the flex fit. One person is selling some on FB market place right now, autographed for 40 bucks a pop. I usually see them going for about 50. It's funny the old portable comfy seat things that went on the old seats seem to sell for more. I heard they scooped up a bunch, which was pretty smart, and cool. I was thinking about building some in to my deck reno, Ill probably just build some thing more comfortable though.
  6. Or even how he misjudged the distance frequently and had to run then stop to catch, making it hard for him to get going again.
  7. Waited till the very last minute strung us along even into camp, which is bad enough. BUT if he had decided it was right then called it and returned the cash, fine, thats the risk you run with an old guy. But stealing that roster bonus and refusing to show was soo low. Screw that guy.
  8. The thing is, neither guy on the PR is a natural tackle. Both are guys that teams have tried to convert to RT a bit. Vanterpool, is really talented but his vaunted stretch of play was all at right guard. Randolph had more starts at TE than T, and the vast majority of his games were also at RG. Both bama and hawaii used them in a pinch at RT, and NFL teams tried to convert both to RT as well, but neither stuck that long. Both are the same situation as Lofton, just younger greener guys. (Both with more upside, especially vanterpool) Either one of those guys would be a fine developmental player. But we are in a situation where we may well need an IMP T to step in and start from the PR this year, and we don't have a guy who would leave us better than kicking most any of our roster guys over to RT. It's a bad situation to be in. I was disappointed at the relatively few/low quality/late reps that both guys got in pre season. Lofton is 31 and has never shown a fraction of what richmond showed, who is still 28.
  9. Yeah Coleman was in the twilight of his career here, no longer the explosive break away guy but he had such a great understanding of the job and did exactly what you needed. If any thing I’d be fine with a smart role player in the kr role rather than trying for the next grant or nothing less.
  10. That'd be gravy for sure. All I want him to do is 1, catch every ball possible in the air. 2, dont signal for a fair catch lol. 3, dont hesitate when he catches it or when he gets to the point of first contact, just go. 4, don't fumble or do any thing stupid. If he does all that and gets just 5 yards per punt return and 20 yards per kick off, that's good. 10 yards per punt and 30 per kick off isn't worth it if the ball is bouncing around etc.
  11. Ahh yes the classic biggie stuff. Mine cant control his 2nd gear yet, so I can keep up for now. But boy it's getting hard. He has no fear at all. He went for the plunge off the couch on me and got soo high he almost went over my shoulder. Could a been ugly, but I got him. Cant lose to a toddler now can I, its not a 4 stripe house after all.
  12. It's going to be a real telling game for the coaching staff. Ott has soo many guys that are former bombers, but especially with Rose on the PR, and brown. They know our personnel, and what we do inside and out. And we know brown far better than the ott coaching staff. We don't have game film on them this year, and they do have it on us this year. How well we game planned for this one will be key to our early success, but how we adjust on both sides of the ball to them is going to be the major indicator for our coaching staff. We will have to out adjust them no question in my mind. We can't wait too long to do it either.
  13. Keys to the game imo, 1, zach needs to be comfy. He needs to shake the rust off, find and maintain a rhythm, plus have better pass pro. Key piece here is Feltmate. I expect to see him in a lot on passing downs for pass pro. 2, Need some one to step up on offence to support zach. 2 of our and the leagues best weapons are out. Need that gap filled. Key guy here is wheatfall imo, he's a real sleeper but is the exact type of guy zach loves to lean on. 3, better game from the secondary. Mainly ford and holm need to gel and improve. We need to come out hot today, no more sluggishness.
  14. He had a sick streak that year for games with out any turn overs too. Haha yep, I never thought that would be a useful life skill. One day he's going to learn a double move and put me on my ass though I know it. Need to start holding new dad mini camps. Help guys round out the skill set.
  15. Especially that, the best qb runs come from delay plays while the wrs run off the dbs. 100% the hurry up after the short yardage play was always a huge advantage.
  16. That is correct. He retired suspended with a contract dispute. Retiring from suspended list would just have him return to the suspended list. Otherwise guys could abuse retirement left right and centre.
  17. If we don't have him throw, he's gonna get hurt. Plop used him as a one play wildcat. And you just cant sustain that. Hell, have him throw a screen or hook and run a designed lateral. Like a hook and ladder play, but in a bit of a smaller area. Have him throw the play action cross we run soo much. We've got to throw in wrinkles right away. Hard pass.
  18. I think we originally in turning around our OL did it the opposite, but yeah that is generally true. Especially up here. Lol some one fire up the photo shop and crop eli into a military uniform! Yeah, and I get a well kept secret is valuable but damn at some point you have to actually use him. I think he would've been a late 2nd round pick at worst. And possibly a 1st in the NFL.
  19. Dude missed his calling for real lol. I feel like him in those plays trying to keep my toddler from going places he shouldn't. I suspect that's true with Gray. He probably wanted either a starting role and the money that goes with it, or to pursue his engineering work. No one wanted to pay him like that and or hand him a starting role. He's the opposite of lofton for me, he really isn't a guard. He can really lock guys up if they bull rush him. And he has the mobility. Idk, it's hard to see him putting it together at RT, and hardly any one plays Imp guards. No doubt dumping kola would improve the line and allow to cover for a guy like lofton more. I do worry though if he doesn't improve at least the pick ups, switches and assignment stuff while playing next to neuf fast, that he just wont ever get it. Yeah, zach needs to progress better and not hesitate to hit guys that are going to come open. Doesn't need to constantly wait to try and strike for a TD. Buck really needs to have a great game plan and play call today. Out lawler and bo is a huge blow.
  20. Yeah me too. While I think he has benefited from playing along side some great, great OL, he definitely turned the corner with his health and improved a lot over his early years. 100%, up the middle is the fastest way to get pressure and ruin a qbs day. I think Neuf and dobson would both be better centres than the Koala.
  21. It's a big tone setter tonight for the stretch leading up to LD. Gotta respond to getting the crap kicked out of us last week. I have some hope that Biggie will be used better under JY, and play better behind the new DL guys. Least I sure hope so, hope he's healthy enough. Hard to get excited for the 2nd preseason game for the vets, I get it.
  22. Couture was better than goossen, IMO. But yeah, Kola is the worst C we've had in a long while. He's a reliable snapper, decent in run pro if he doesn't have a man to take, is awful any time he has a man to take especially if they are on the nose. But he's even bead with handling twists. Gray would've hands down been better than lofton imo. Idk if he would be a long term answer at RT, but I always thought that was the position to groom him for. Don't know till you try. Lofton is worse than when Neuf played RT a bit last year. I was real sad we lost out on Desjarlais too. I don't think they'll move on from Neuf as long as he can walk though.
  23. He was very gentle with lofton, but lofton got it even worse. he's on the wrong side of pressure in all but 1 of those plays, when kola gets pancaked. One of the last plays he gets beat by 2 guys and gets no one. At times he was kick stepping way too far and giving up inside position, other times hes dropping back with out contact like he's a damn DB trying to get deep and just walking back into the pocket. We have 2 big holes on our OL right now. I don't know what is more frustrating, That we don't seem to have the answer at imp T, or that we have the answer at C and refuse to use it. Love the content from lapo, hope he keeps it up. YT is a hard grind and even harder for the CFL market I'm sure. The play to woli is clearly quarters cover though, the play at 7:57 problem isn't zach missing the guy with a seam buster, which he didn't likely have time for, the problem is the confusion on coverage left both guys on that side open. Zach didn't miss 1 possible throw because of timing of progression, he missed the side of the field because he never looked. Even the play to woli that lapo loves, that's a very risky throw when he had an easy target about 5 yards shorter to the side line that wasn't surrounded with guys.
  24. Nope. Maybe if he coughs up 30k, with interest though… lol
  25. And he can’t retire as a rider.
