  1. 3 of the top 15 lol, for maybe the worst ol. Just insane. In general a lot of the top list are over paid. A lot of guys getting paid on the fact they used to be good.
  2. I feel like the whole of the MLSE has that attitude towards the CFL.
  3. He was at the SC pro day again this year thinking some how he was going to get back to an NFL shot. Said he was up here in the cfl for a year and a half, and some stuff about nothing like being state side. I don't take any of it too seriously especially at his alma mater, but I mean the guy played 2 games here. He's got some decent athleticism and talent. I think he's kind of stuck between dt and de here. Might fit our 2nd dt role well like casey sayles did. But I don't think he's a guy you could have out there with jake thomas or another none nose tackle. Good body for camp, high character high motor guy. I wasn't specifically talking about the last GC. A ton of small changes or improvements would have put us over the top. I actually thought Matty would've been fine in a more limited role. Especially as a QB coach. Maybe even as HC or front office guy. He did have a strong eye for talent and he built the foundations of the evil empire that followed. Magic also flopped at coaching, and mike singletary too. Ted williams in baseball was miserable as a bench boss as well. The old saying "those who can do, those who can't teach" might be more factual in the reverse. "Just because you can do it, doesn't mean you can teach it."
  4. He coached selectively, and was on the sideline micro managing coaching the entire time. Specifically, he coached and trained Kwame brown extensively.
  5. Thing is, it's only a matter of time before they would bring pinball back any way. But if he is the sacrificial goat, every one will turn on them. Not as much because of the public love of pinball, but because every one knows Murphy is the peak of the problem. Cut out every single person below him and you still have the makings of a toxic waste land. If the league acts before the argos, the punishment should be 10x stricter. Because it shows they aren't taking it seriously at all. They are just trying to skate by with the minimum.
  6. Are these gold top set ups going to be the new 3rd uniforms? They are wicked
  7. Mj in basketball as well.
  8. Committed money in free agency is worth more than at the end of the year. You still have the ability to bring in higher quality guys. This last year we didn’t get any late season additions. It’s not all equal. Also grant came back and wasn’t remotely the same till the very end.
  9. Yeah last two years camp and pre season seemed like a foregone conclusion before they even started. I expect a real battle this year. Probably a few fisticuffs.
  10. I’m more excited for camp pre season and the regular season than I was the last two years, just because of the optimism about this. I think the mafia has learned how far loyalty should extend and when to cut it off. The raptors just rode championship loyalty into the toilet. We haven’t adapted as fast as the stamps did, but I think we got there.
  11. I see validity in both your points. Thinking back to what it was to be a bomber fan in the past two dark ages this would be crushing. Even with that I and many others defended Harris during his ped positive test not long ago. (His claim was very valid but we never did hear about his independent testing of the allegedly tainted supplement) with that said, the whole victim blaming culture is such a big toxic issue in society right now, the regressive attitudes are much worse on this. Not to mention the victim suffered directly, Harris either way didn’t victimize people. Some of the defences and devils advocate positions has come off really gross with Kelly. Guilt or not, just some real ick factor stuff. I hope all this in the end helps some of those people to see the importance of protecting alleged victims and treating them appropriately. Some times good people get wrapped up on the wrong side of disputes. It’s certainly happened to me in the past. I still think bluto is good people and a good poster.
  12. That’s soo odd right after the team and Kelly denied any wrong doing. You know that’s why they marched good ole pinball out to deliver the message. This only pushes home that the league needs to come down swiftly and harshly on the Argo’s brass.
  13. I think it’s all made grey by the fact that the last two gc losses were soo close that any single change of an under performing factor likely turns a loss into a win. If biggie played at a peak modp level for instance I think we win. But I don’t particularly blame biggie for the losses.
  14. It’s possible. I gauged my comment on Walter’s saying he couldn’t see a way to fit grant in with the cap but it could be pure injuries or youth. I suspect JJ and yoshi were moved on from for youth. If that was the case with all our FAs, and we had the ability to spend all the moneys I think we would’ve dipped into veteran free agency a good bit still. I think all those vets were some balance of this. With grant and JJ being the most about injury time, yoshi and houston about performance and cost. Certainly true. He tried free agency twice expecting more and settling for less than he wanted here. It was pretty public. I think part of it is just the market for a kr in the cfl right now. No one is paying top dollar to guys like that unless they can translate it to offence or D.
  15. If they handed out a way of spending limitlessly on the roster we would have brought back guys like grant and more free agent vets. Probably give him payments for the abuse program he has to go into now too
  16. It can actually. Jackson is a perfect example of a bad rookie. Most old boys clubs let the wrong young guys in for the wrong reasons. That said I don’t remotely see a comparable volume of complaints about young guys as old guys. The core of the issue has been rostering and starting guys who wouldn’t make any other roster in the league. Be they old, jack thomas and kola or young like Sheahan and schmekel. Rostering DIs only to not use them at all goes way back to the pre 19 years under the Mafia. As does starting guys no one else would look at. Though our talent level at times back then left us wanting for better options.
  17. I think it’s a one contract thing. 60k base and ceiling that goes up to 60k floor and 100k ceiling next year. I don’t think you can tack as many of those on top of who Evers contract as you want.
  18. I think the other canary in the mine type players are schmekel (barring a big step forward as a player) Thomas (starting/number of reps) Cole and Kelly (both should easily be on the game day roster) and to a lesser extent kola vs Eli. I think they feel pot committed to keeping Bennett around still, but we did cut faith quickly in the past. And I think it’s similar with Sheahan I think they want to see how he will do in a better kick cover/punt system. Atleast I sure hope so.
  19. One way or another the old boys club is going to die. Either we kill it this year, or it kills our contention and dies with a whimper. This off season has given me hope that we are killing it and focusing on building the best team possible. A big indicator will be imo, our use of the nationalized American rule. If we are using it like every other team then the worm has turned. No one had been published league wide for how the rule has been used and iirc it grows this year. If we continue to pass on it, we are in trouble.
  20. I really like what Parker brings, he’s soo quick and explosive with tremendous tackling it’s hard to understand how he sat soo much late last year while we ran out some guys who didn’t do any thing well. his quickness looked incredible off the edge on the few snaps like that. That’s a look that would terrify ocs and qbs. He reminds me of prime Lamar mcgriggs. He can do most any thing you need, including just read and reacting as a rover. Brian Clark was kind of similar too. That was a heavier set era, and Lamar was incredibly strong for his size but I think he could fill that kind of role for us that year. Do a bit of every thing move him around and really force offences to adapt.
  21. Cole is a guy to me that if he improves in the slightest from last year we just need on the field. I think you could play him at either lber spot, or Sam or S. personally I’d take advantage of that and move him around and use that versatility to get other guys on the field for packages. And also to limit the reps of Kyrie/biggie keeping them healthier hopefully. He’s strong, fast, physical, got all the motor and drive in the world and strong anticipation skills. He’s got modp upside, and reasonable ability to fulfill that potential with reps and coaching. Kramdi I think has upside and use situationally. He puts him self in position, but is hit or miss when it comes to actually making plays. Short yardage/goal line, clear running downs I think he’s an asset. And he is more useful in coverage than the limited Halletts Imo. But he shouldn’t start Sam or other wise.
  22. Gotta get that pick though lol. We have a ton of flexibility and I think how we use it will change a lot through out the year. We didn’t bring lbers to rookie camp this year it seems. So he could be in taking reps as a db for practice, which would be smart. But I would love Cole at especially S. but even as a Sam his instincts and reaction time is great he has a real knack for making plays.
  23. I think the smart/best usage is starting ford and platooning Kramdi. We could start both but that’s a huge risk especially when our other ni dbs can only play S. Ford should take the spot, but we have done crazy things especially with Nis. I’d actually love to have Karamoko as a db on the roster too, but not likely to happen. if any thing in the secondary I’m not sold on our view of Parker. I really like him, but we seemed to have no confidence in him last year. Ba needs to be 100% and get back close to where he was. If not, I’d look hard at Kelly as S or another imp like Cole.
  24. Nichols holm and ba start. Ba needs to bounce back, Parker should be at the front of the battle for a spot. Kramdi/ford. Even if we start nichols holm ba Parker and one Canadian, that leaves us with one rookie starter. 2 rookies starting is what I’m expecting, with a bounce back from ba. Gonna need a lot of rookie db bodies this camp. We will probably still add and subtract another 5/6 during camp.
