  1. Agree with this. The only issue with sayles is he’s a robin who acts and is treated like Batman. He’s still an exceptional athlete who makes plays. You can have that guy, but you can’t field a secondary filled with those guys. Even two is tough to maintain. I think every great D needs that guy though. Holm reminds me of sayles, but not as physical, with more potential to be a steady cover guy. I’d take sayles back today. Sayles imo is a better db now than rose, Houston, or ba. Rose is serviceable and versatile, ba is burned and Houston is a poor man’s sayles.
  2. Fair point, though I saw discount lucky whitehead shirts last year still too. I think Brady is probably the hottest jersey the last year. Yep, legit team built the right way. If they had gotten a better qb they’d be a serious long term threat. mack has tons of faults, his ability to tap into the us market and find talent isn’t one. The ALs have done very well with Mack in finding us players. Canadians not soo much. And success is only ever sustained in the cfl if you maintain a high level of ni play.
  3. Given his temporary switch to wr and then back to qb after his transfer and the missing reps I actually think this course has been the best case scenario. Forced into action as a rookie in a different league and rule set on a very good team, fills in as an option guy in year 2 and does package work which is all new to him as well. Then to the nfl where it’s all focus on passing but with some teams that had high level offences designed around running QBs. When he does take the reins, be it forced into a start or a late season rest game I expect him to flourish.
  4. On strevy he was a legit passer in College had an impressive streak with out throwing a pick. He only regressed as a passer under plop. The check down offence isn’t what he’s cut out for. If your offence is designed to stretch sideline to sideline with the pass, running any thing but up the middle even with a qb is greatly reduced. Because he was used soo much to run, that was the first option with him on the field and what Ds game planned for. So the screen/release dump off played right into the Ds prep. We needed seam passes, timing routes, hitch n go screen out n ups etc. as well as some run wrinkles like qb power and counter, pump and runs, dive action screens etc. I’m hopeful buck will make better use of strevy. Big Chris also seemed to take a good step forward in the nfl from zona to ny. And I mean it makes sense he got some great coaching. I like white but I don’t see him being notably cheaper than schoen.
  5. Let’s also remember Mos did move on from him, like 4-5 years ago. Then brought him back mid season as an injury replacement. Good likelihood. This fa period is the first time in a long time with soo much concern. Can’t wait for the first week of be over so we know who stays and who goes.
  6. I have this sinking feeling we are going to lose both Brady and schoen. Boy I hope it’s wrong.
  7. Posts picture of Cody fajardo lifting the grey cup. Here! lol I bet schoen gets a call from every single team. Chris jones probably offers him nfl back up qb money. Does any one think schoen signs for less than 300k given the market the last few years if he hits fa? Is some one gonna offer him 350k? 400? I feel like we have to be at the ceiling for wr contracts at 300k but I half expect some one to go full mike Reilly. If you’re gonna do it schoen is the guy to pay right? Best wr in the league hands down.
  8. Yeah tough stronger than he looks north south dynamic play maker. Fairly grant like with time at grants Alma mater. A bit more twitchy and polished as a wr less as a kr imo. Tons of up side that’s a great get.
  9. I love the talent. Idk if he’s a fifo guy, don’t have any thing to base it on, but I feel like he wouldn’t be. I’d rather get benett and kongbo. He’s also a really good run stopper at de so even if you roll small inside he can make that work and not be as much a liability in run stopping he used to play some actually, returns two short kick offs in his career. At this point though not much he could do other than fill in for a guard. Interesting indeed. He put up good numbers last year in the usfl. Big guy too.
  10. In terms of kgs career average level of play I agree. He did turn it up to a level higher than harris, but very similar passers with similar faults.
  11. Harris used to be better but he’s burned toast. It’s not impossible that he has a resurgence, but it is very unlikely with his ol in ssk.
  12. Korny is back plus we could look for some one at the draft but it’d be much better to get kongbo/bennet at the edge to rotate
  13. 12 seasons on a body by macdonalds, and he’s hardly ever missed games. He’s way past it, but he must be made of some seriously tough stuff. I mean he’s our back up to the back up ol, who else would do that lol. He’s also return two kick offs so he’s versatile what’s not to love 🤪 Fun fact he has 31 career sacks, just behind the 38 of Jackson jeffcoat. Imagine if jj leaves in fa and some how Thomas passes him? lol!
  14. I’m not too surprised about fat boy. If he didn’t retire they were gonna bring him back. Hopefully he is kept under 20 snaps a game
  15. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/positional/ according to that FBs make more money than RBs. Idk if it’s accurate or not. Beat me by seconds haha. https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/10076678-what-is-the-going-contract-rate-for-every-position-in-todays-nfl.amp.html not a lot of reputable sites for this that I know of.
  16. I’ve never heard that but I wouldnt be surprised. I lol’d pretty hard at that too. I wonder if no2 QBs, or back up QBs in general make more money than starting RBs.
  17. Tbh you could take and one of their front 6. They scout develop and deploy soo damn well on the front. Not shabby with dbs either but I feel like they more so hit on dbs. They are a mill churning out good front 6 guys.
  18. Very true. Harris was dog poop in edm, even worse than ssk imo. But a bit better in mtl.
  19. Maier is a good point, I’d go maier over Harris as it’s possible maier improves. I don’t think Harris would be good on our squad. harris used to be a guy who put up yards but not scores. Now he’s a guy who gets sacked lol.
  20. Interesting that he played two g and T spots. Looks like he’s a guard by nature though. But a big ass guard. I actually prefer shorter stocky interior ol. I think being tall makes it tougher in the cfl. looks like the pats brought him to convert him to T long term. Guy played a crazy amount of snap with out giving up a sack, even for a guard. 500 in one year with no sacks allowed and went 900 snaps with no penalties against. Played with a mild pain near his stomach. Then a couple days later he had ruptured his appendix and played through it, and lived with it. Then didn’t want to have the surgery till after the season and wanted to miss no games lol. Tough business. And he played against some monster nfl prospects. Not hard to see what they like about him.
  21. I mean in terms of league kr/roster players. I’d take him returning kicks over the guys we’ve had the last few years not named grant, but yeah we should be able to throw a rock at a fa camp in the us and hit 6 guys who can kr. We just fall in love with the worst return men. I’d love him as a di rotating at rb, but I don’t think he’d do that. Carey would imo. I don’t trust stanback to block catch or stay healthy as a no1. Damn shame. id be happy for him if he bounces back though. Love watching that guy run.
  22. If you rank the QBs in the cfl among starters the only guy who would be bellow Harris is blm imo, and he’s not gonna be a starter this year I’m sure.
  23. Idk who is in the market to pay big bucks to another teams fas? Edmonton? Might not be a sellers market. In oday we trust… continue to tank dude!
  24. A lot of this has been touched on to death, but if we do a platoon at rb (we should but likely won’t) I’d love to see grant get more touches. He’s such a deceptively strong guy and tough runner he’d be great to get more looks. If we do lose grant I wouldn’t be against a home coming for lucky if he’s at a reasonable price. Morrow could also be and option but not a fan.
  25. Honestly you summed up perfectly the average sports fans of most teams in most leagues. I like whitehead, Carey, wieneke as bounce back guys in the right position. But it’d have to be cheap incentive laden deals. No way I’d want to give those guys much money.
