  1. And start your training when you’re about 8. become an under water off shore welder. You can make similar money to what Dru brown is going to get for less than full time work. Or a regional head of sales. You can be done in a few years and save the middle school high school and college years.
  2. Not likely in that stage no. Contender development is usually long and multi staged. Then a team like the ALs fluke into a ship lol.
  3. It’s true. If you are building a team I think it’s much easier to build around a cheap running qb and hope to find a guy who can carry you to wins with his arm down the road. Once you lock in that contract and have a reasonable back up your clock is running and it’s late in the evening. I think the fact that we had to win with D, turn overs, teams, and running game to start with allowed us to progress into a dynasty. I’m talking pre Nichols, then Nichols then post Nichols, we slowly moved up from a team that had to win with every thing but qb, to a team that could manage the game to a team that could dominate. When you start around offence I don’t think you ever develop that defensive attitude of expecting to have to win the game every week instead of just not losing it. Qb is the most important position, but it’s not a head of any unit on the team, and the strength of it diminishes faster than any other position. Put prime flutie on our worst teams in the past 20 years and you have a terrible team and an injured flutie. Put this ol in their prime on it and they’ll find a qb who can game manage. I mean that coat has probably seen more action than the beds in a motley Crüe tour bus too. I’d put it on a mannequin with the jeans cowboy hat/boots no shirt and a fake beard behind 4 inches of glass in the bomber store.
  4. We’ve seen lots of teams splurge on QBs and cheap out on ol etc doesnt work. That’s exactly what I was hoping to hear from jy I hope we see it too.
  5. Fair question. He was faster more than quick, and honestly had/has good athleticism for a wr. Athletically, as a mobile qb in the cfl I think he’s gonna be a beast. Decision making, style of offence, and reading were in shambles with plops offence before he left. I think the time off will be beneficial. I think he needed the reset mentally. Even athletically he left with a broken ankle actually too. I think it’s much more of an issue at positions like de, line in general and ball handlers. People put too much importance on qbing. But it does carry a lot of responsibility. But people hate on blink for kgs injury, turned on lawler for not keeping up his insane pace late in the season etc. if lawler Brady etc we’re QBs they’d a been run outta town long ago. they do. Every position is heavily dependent on other positions. The team aspect of football is really under rated. Every great team requires soo much selfless play at various positions like what Demski and Bailey do for our off.
  6. People are soo fast to turn on every other position when they don’t see exactly the production they expect but QBs get an instant pass if the team wins enough games. It’s nuts. People have turned on wj, jj, biggie, Brady etc for far less than piss poor play off/gc performances.
  7. I wouldn’t cut Zach, he could be traded for a good bit of value. Won’t happen, but that’s what I’d do. That is the best case scenario when moving on from a guy like Zach. If we go imp rb id love to see us bring in a real big one. Some one in the range of 240lbs running a high 4.5 low 4.6. Some good old Mike sellers style trucking of blockers.
  8. Man that’d be fantastic. It’s interesting to me how brown seems ready and in line for a shot, but no one seems to be interested in going after him. As If every one thinks they will lose the spree and are just moving on. At this point edm, ssk, bc, wpg, ham, ott, mtl, and tor are locked in at starting qb. Calgary is 90% in too. Half the teams are locked in at back up qb with now strevy coming back too. At this rate brown is going to be looking at another back up spot. If I was him I’d look for a 1 year deal at a decent rate maybe with incentives and hope next year people move on from the ancient decrepit husks of QBs like blm.
  9. Pretty soon if he wants to have the chance to be at the reigns of his own team he will have to look at the xfl 4.0.
  10. Teams like bc and Hamilton have been over paying and giving up on RBs back and forth. Ott, ssk, edm too. Yeah, honestly the home run ability of an imp rb would be nuts too. but I don’t expect it to happen. Im not on the instatwittergrams and I greatly appreciate when people post news stuffs from the reputable guys. But honestly life as a sports fan is way better removed from athletes social media.
  11. You could go to Texas, Florida, Georgia, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, either Carolina, Arizona, Maryland, or Tennessee and have a free agent camp for RBs, and get 5 nfl roster quality players, 2-3 starter to star calibre cfl RBs, and 0-1 nfl star quality RBs. Seriously. The main issue will be how many can cross the border, will do the work to come up here, are willing to pay the taxes and actually come up. Cut those numbers in half for those guys, and you still have 60+ available guys under 26/27 with reasonable to minimal wear. Rb is that deep currently. Also in the cfl basically all style of back are viable. cut back runner, scat back, power back you name it. Sub par top gear? Not a prohibitive factor. Probably. I wonder what fair price is though.
  12. Cfl can’t even manage regular in season stats for 3/4 of the year lol
  13. I don’t put him in the top tier at all. I have him as a good established guy but behind the elite tier and the second tier of young upstarts that break out every year. I do agree that browns market is quickly shrinking though. it wasn’t as much about maier as it was about blm being toast. But maier isn’t a guy I’d want to have as qb1 on my team. Ooof. interesting. More punts? Same danger but for less guys. Idk how they are gonna do it with out making it a gong show.
  14. Not awful by current wr standards but I wouldn’t wanna pay begel 200k a year.
  15. I bet walters is doing more work than ever on the draft and rookie free agency. That’s where our gems will come from this year, and that’s what we need. The re shuffle in the coaching staff, with the previous possibility that we could lose buck, and current that we could lose Brady and schoen or more all means a lot of prep work for situations that might not even happen. There is no “off season” in the front office of pro sports.
  16. I’m guessing it’s just a matter of him letting walters figure out what he can afford to pay him. I doubt the pay is a big factor in his return. Man I hope it’s not Calgary.
  17. I suspect a good bit younger. Im not worried about our ability to find and recruit talent. My worry has been our ability to move on from guys, and this off season has shown great improvement in that area. I’m sure it won’t be a 100% ideal off season for any one from the fans to walters, we will go into next tc with questions. But I think we will fill those out. I think the draft is even more critical than the free agency period. We badly need to restock our ni depth.
  18. Hall is indeed an amazing asset to have around, as long as it isn’t a pure hall d branded as a jy d. But I don’t think that’ll be it. Hall has always been a strong collaborator, as he talks about with buck. He’s also just one of the best people in the league. I hope his health holds up and he can continue to fulfill a support role for a good while longer. I think jy will continue to play a coverage that’s off WRs and emphasizes staying in the back peddle as long as possible before making a break and a play on the ball/wr. I suspect we will see smaller cushions giving guys more of a chance of making a play, and I think we will see less mlb blitzes into a gap, and more “exotic” blitzes designed to get pressure for the guy rushing. I wonder how jy and mos will look at the dl. In the past couple years we’ve seen great success with nose tackles, cheetah fronts, and the 30 front. The dt and de has been really bust with out sayles. Going to be interesting to see. I could see him really opening up things for kyrie too. Where does 8 years as a dc rank for the bombers? I feel like that’s got to be high on the all time list.
  19. Even when he’s healthy he isn’t a guy you can build around any more. Powell brown would be a monster camp competition. For sure you would get the most out of one of those guys. Cats are stuck in this only a move away from winning it all attitude. And they just aren’t.
  20. Agree, we saw cf make good use of his guys last year at times, it wouldn’t be like a star wr going to edm for a payday, he’d still flourish.
  21. I’m guessing some thing like defensive quality control/assistant or he could coach dbs for/with jy. This is a huge win move for us. Hall staying on is fantastic. Big sign that the mafia aren’t going to stand pat again and aren’t happy with another close gc loss. Huge step forward and gives me a lot of hope for this coming season. Good for miller too. Some one called it idr who.
  22. I wouldn’t trade a first for him either. I’d be happy to get him for like a 3rd/4th or some thing to replace prukop. Even a 3rd is a bit higher than I’d like. We need to rebuild our ni depth.
  23. Chris jones has never let silly little rules stop him before. I have no freakin clue what to expect edm to do or look like other than spending money foolishly. The position has changed a bunch. Teams don’t play 250lbs mlbers any more or funnel to a guy much. It’s more two ilb/olb types. It’ll be interesting to see what bc and tor do with their lbers and if we see big pay days in fa.
