  1. Which would be a great move for him. He’s 50 and he’s dedicated a lot of his life to football. Can’t blame any one for better work life balance. Kinda ot but it’s cool to see boldens son with the pats and also a big db. Imagine being able to be home for dinner every night. And being close to your family. Imagine not having to work 80-100 hours a week for 48 weeks.
  2. Tip toeing around the two direction crime against humanity at the heart of this. Every one involved in the cfl stats should be fired this year. coaching life is awful on family and basically every thing but football. Having a mini me, I couldn’t imagine doing more than volunteer low level hs or under coaching now. That’s a crazy life. Soo much this. What a joke this guy hasn’t been perma banned yet. I hope they do it in the off season.
  3. He was real close to taking a good d1 job a while ago. The pros are where the ultimate prestige is, but college is easily the best actual deal for coaches.
  4. Tbh it’s got a bunch of trash picks. Awe especially but a few others too. this is the worst of the all star lists and almost always is that way. be nice to have all 3 all star team announcements, and player awards in one thread.
  5. I can’t see any thing less than a critical injury keeping either out. It’d be fantastic if Bailey got to be the guy who steps up in the play offs and earned more respect league wide. He’s soo under rated.
  6. I love his videos. Most coaches wouldn’t. But that guys ego definitely doesn’t care.
  7. Agree 100%. I’d love to see them coach together again. They are soo on the same wave length it’s freaky. Buck might be in the closest thing in an offensive coach too. If most left buck would get the shot a million percent. I don’t think he’s ready for it yet. But who knows pressure makes diamonds. My ranking of replacements would be coach o, then walters if we could get Ringmaiden back in walters role, then a pick ‘em of Ryan Phillips, monsoon maybe killiam, Washington, Mace, Miles, and buck. Each of those guys have strengths and weaknesses some have higher upside but are really raw others have less and more polish. It would depend on how they want to run things. I expect a good 80% of those guys will have a hc gig here in the next 10 years and maybe 2 or 3 at best will develop into quality hcs. Buck has the inside track. I really like Washington miles and maces upside. I actually think jy has that potential and could rise quickly. Bourgoin and Stanley do as well but they are much further behind in terms of polish. And ol coaches never get love, poor Costello.
  8. What other teams practice victory formation? I haven’t heard that it was just the last play but that they repeatedly practiced any play in their book. The cats entitlement reflected the victory formation not the other way around. Brandon banks and some of the biggest cry babies of the era on that team. Simoni Lawrence ring a bell? Don Jackson evans Wynn role they had all the bad character you could want.
  9. Mack is better than bane pretty easily imo. 50 more yards on 20 less targets and a whopping 1.6 ypc more. That with fajardo ick. I’d take Hollins over him too. Realistically for any one to surpass white, lawler, schoen, and hatcher is gonna be real hard. Lawler in 18 games would’ve been on track for 1351 yards 9 tds which would’ve been first and second league wide. Roadhouse missed 2 and barely missed out on yards. hollins bane Mack hardy snead and Coxie are all young guys in the second tier. You have vets looking to bounce back to form in guys like Lewis next year too. If any one in that group is gonna step up to the top tier imo it’s coxie if he isn’t nfl bound or Mack.
  10. Yeah I mean he inherited a really crappy entitled veteran team. serious practice of victory formation in the gc week. The offence was largely in condels hands and slowly evolved from June jones max protect semi balanced run pass timing route stuff to this heavy pass spread offence that just hasn’t been nearly as good. They went from making QBs better to making them worse to not having good ones. I think coach o is still a damn good coach but as a hc I think a fresh start and actually having his own team would be good. Stubler is heavily over rated imo, he wasn’t turning teams around he was getting hired to good teams. He also left the league like 4 times. and hall has always excelled at adjusting. It’s no surprise to me that he bounced back. Perfect example. Burke was maybe the most decorated and successful dc of his era. One fail as a hc and done. Devone claybrooks is another excellent dc who crashed and burned as a hc and was never heard from again. Chris jones imo is a failed hc up jumped dc. If coach O gets canned he will bounce back no question. It’s not his fault that the team he inherited, that improved under him, got old. He took a team that won 7 games then 6 then 8 to a 15 win year, two back to back grey cups and 3 east finals in a row. 31-19 with play offs every year and hosting a bunch of play off games isn’t failed. I mean go compare mos here before 19 to that.
  11. The front office salary cap has really hurt the league. It needs a heavy overhaul in the off season. It’s great when a guy like Ringmaiden goes from one team to another in a higher role and excels. That happening a couple times a generation drastically improves the football in the league. But when you crunch the pay you make it really really hard to get/have/keep the next Ringmaiden and develop him. And even more so with scouts. Teams suck at scouting each other these days. And they struggle to scout across the us as it’s such a huge market with soo many leagues and levels. Juco scouting has fallen off a cliff. So has xfl/usfl/spring etc league scouting. It also hurts as teams struggle to keep up with blue chip guys who are multi year nl projects. I like coach O. I hope he stays in the cfl. But some times it just doesn’t work out and the guy who takes you to the dance can’t win it. The ticats need a culture change and a flush of the old. They don’t even need a full on rebuild talent wise, they just need to get rid of the old cats and go young. I wouldn’t mind cryin Dave leaving Calgary and going to ham. Actually might be good if both cal and ham switched hcs. Lol right.
  12. All the worlds difference. Go to a farm and put your hand in a pig pen. Look at the people who are life king pig farmers and count fingers. Genetically there is nearly no difference from dogs to wolves. It’s all different socializing and training. Pigs are far further from dogs than dogs are from wolves too.
  13. I believe they have to be surrendered or requested when he’s in the area. I don’t think he’s going on private property un solicited and caging peoples neglected dogs. to be fair domesticated for farming meat and domesticated into a household pet is a huge difference. Add in that dogs have been domesticated as companions back 14-35k bce, and you have a very different situation.
  14. True. But that’s the life of a coach in football. Tons of coaches who are more successful are fired every year or two in hs and college in the us. Oh boy. I love the guy but his acting is rough. He’s no Robert Gordon lol.
  15. That dude can fly for a 300lber. We love those rangy athletic imp dts You could put fox in on short yardage too just have him maul a guy on the edge and put gray at fb
  16. Hope it’s cold. Gonna be a tale of pass rush and dl/front play. The team with a qb in trouble struggling to run is gonna lose this game. I fully expect it’ll be bc in trouble and is punching our ticket to the gc.
  17. You don’t have a record as a co, other than being fired. Mos record was very similar pre 19 gc probably worse.
  18. Lol yeah I’m beyond fried rn. 21 bombers could take both teams in the gc at once though lol. I think the same is true of plop tbh. Great player coaches. Not great game managers or in game decision/adjustment guys. Plop has a better ability to put together a play book. Khari needs to stick as a qb coach under a good oc for a while. And nothing wrong with being a qb coach long term.
  19. I think it’s a pick ‘em between yoshi neuf and Bryant and that none of the 3 should win.
  20. I love khari. But he and Zach is a terrible combination. Hey Zach why don’t you throw it deep? I do khari what do you mean oh I mean every snap. Every, single, snap. No matter the coverage. hell yes I’m in. like I said I love khari. But idk what his fit is in the cfl. He’s been the coach on crap teams but that’s how every coach starts. Personally, I want the best teams. I’m hoping we get bc and Toronto in the gc. That said, a mtl gc with fajardo would be hilarious too.
  21. They just saved half the work from firing them. But they will probably have to bring back most as few upgrades will be interested
  22. Bet it was cheap booze lol
  23. Looked up modp, jovon is the only db to ever win. First half Fleming won one some how, explain that to Doug brown please some one lol. Dt bayliss in 93, dt dr death (what a nick name) and Helton in 74. 4 out of 48. 44 de/lbers. for mop soli won it in 14 then hal Paterson in 56 for defensive players. Mol going back to 74 has never gone to a dl. teams has never gone to any one but a kr/kicker. Not a punter not a cover guy. And we’ve seen a couple good blocked kick years from guys in the early ots too.
  24. People treat mop like it’s most improved or break out or mvp or qb of the year as they see fit. A bunch of the awards are like that actually. Mol is always an ol team is always a kr or kicker when was the last time a db won modp? Always a wil, Mac, or de. Wouldn’t mind a redefining of some of the awards to make things clearer and give some guys a chance at their position.
  25. Kind of interesting pff rated our ol as best for the month, with Dobson and Eli being our two highest rated ol followed by Bryant. The pff stats have been pretty hit or miss, and I’m sure are heavily skewed by both playing a lot of package plays. Though they are clearly a good part of our success in those packages. And both got decent reps in the last two games and played well. It’s a position we’ve been in for several years with high end young ni ol in the wings waiting for their chance. I think one or both are very likely to be regular starters next year. Time for us to draft the next wave of stud ni ol.
