  1. Kind of interesting pff rated our ol as best for the month, with Dobson and Eli being our two highest rated ol followed by Bryant. The pff stats have been pretty hit or miss, and I’m sure are heavily skewed by both playing a lot of package plays. Though they are clearly a good part of our success in those packages. And both got decent reps in the last two games and played well. It’s a position we’ve been in for several years with high end young ni ol in the wings waiting for their chance. I think one or both are very likely to be regular starters next year. Time for us to draft the next wave of stud ni ol.
  2. I do have to give credit where due, plop did a fantastic job of creating a package that utilized his strengths and developing Demski. But the riders did a crap job of it. They really wasted his potential and blamed him.
  3. He never ever used to come back to the ball as a rider. He was throwing plays lol
  4. Likely true. I expect the Argos to clean out most of the awards. I think you’re right too that he will win. I think as much as the media is humping Toronto’s leg, Brady is a better story and they know it. Canadian dominating a largely imp position one of the best rb seasons ever and a repeat viral sensation for animal rescue. Plus just a classy dude and extremely marketable. Kelly didn’t do more than most of the young QBs who have a big first season as a regular starter lately. Vaj rourke fajardo Kelly is middle of that pack as a first year full time qb1. No one is even close to Brady right now.
  5. It’s a pretty clear cut 2 horse race imo.
  6. Not imo. That’s more about WRs and play call. As stated starting field position is a huge deal. Some years no qb is outstanding too. Ideally to rate an out standing qb I would look at stats like attempts per td, completions per game, yards per attempt, and turn overs per snap to get an idea of how much the offence relies on the qb and how prolific they are at producing. 2nd down conversions, 2 and outs, and sacks/hits/pressures are big as well. Some food for thought. The 21 bombers had a very similar dominant D, and great return game. We had a shorter season that coincides with the Argos sitting him a bunch and both strong run games. 2021 Zach 243/346 70.2% 3185yards 9.2avg 20 tds 6 picks 111 rating. 2023 chad 270/394 67.4% 4123yards 10.5avg 23 tds 12 picks 109.3 rating. Kelly still had a bunch more opportunities, but was leaned on significantly less, and put up more turn overs. 21 Zach was a classic qb mop season. 23 Kelly reminds me a lot of Trevor Harris but on a great team.
  7. You are a credit to your and all cfl fan bases though. I’ll also say I’m not sure in tor being favoured. Not talking betting lines or any thing straight up winning. I feel like Toronto has had their foot off the gas soo long and has relatively few games and adverse moments shared with their core players. This Argos team reminds me of a less star studded 01 bombers. Coasted way too hard into the play offs and during. it will be a great indicator of how effective dw is at coaching discipline and preparation. If he has those guys amped up playing hard and smart in the ef/grey cup he will be a staple of grey cups for a long time to come.
  8. Unfinished business but this time it’s personal.
  9. Oh you bet it will be. The league has been flirting with stupid dirty crap for soo long. It’s only a matter of time till some thing goes viral. Honestly I could see any of the east teams going to the gc. If Montreal had a real qb they’d be crazy.
  10. I kinda see an upset brewing in bc too. Montreal Hamilton is gonna be a game.
  11. It’s likely but I’m hoping it’s not. No joke. Not the time by any means. Lawler is gonna get mugged.
  12. I mean he had nearly the same year as Sergio This year so he likely is well on his way now. Imo he’s a guy who has never lived up to his potential. From usc on to the cfl. He’s not the guy I’d go with so it makes sense they picked him up lol. Personally I’d a gone with a fast guy who can take the top off the coverage. I’d rather still have Agudosi tbh, he knows the system and has plenty of familiarity with Zach. Hope this isn’t a sign that we are gonna miss one or two guys like Bailey and roadhouse.
  13. Yeah it’s a huge off season any thing is possible cap wise. We gotta bring back schoen and Brady first and build around that. that’s an interesting point. I’m sure you could have both for less than 600k too. But damn, it’d be hard to walk away from Zach. Tbh I can’t imagine the mafia doing that unless Zach is awful in the post season. They can’t walk away from more mediocre players.
  14. It’ll be interesting to see what Kelly does next year. He’s been heavily protected this year from adversity. But over coming adversity is what makes a qb great.
  15. Stan is a massive outlier though. You take 100 tackles who get an all star nod you’d be lucky for 1 or 2 to play that many years. yoshi and his build is certainly all the harder to keep healthy. Bryant really has a perfect build for longevity. Yoshi has done great work to get in and maintain better shape. But it’s still a lot for the years he Carried and played on like 350 lbs. the relative health and length of his career is already tremendous tbh. both have also played through a lot of injuries especially the last two ish years. also the job our trainers have done with all the ol is tremendous and can’t be understated. The amount of games that neuf yoshi and Bryant have played is insane.
  16. 1, I’ll take any flavour in cfl play call. 2, yes highly unprobable but it could happen. Probably take 2 or 3 pick 6s or a ton of turn overs or complete in ability to move the ball til late and some how still being in the game. It is probably the least likely thing to happen. 3, streveler is the better win now option. Can’t pay brown competitive money to sit on the bench where as streveler can contribute or the offence plenty as qb2.
  17. The offence would be soo damn deadly.
  18. Sure would make for an interesting off season. If we lose brown, get strevy and a new developmental young passer id be pretty happy. Id also be happy if he came back on a reasonable deal but I don’t see that happening. Imo as high as a 2nd or late 1st for the rights to talk to brown. For Zach, his value would exceed what a team could send with out making them self worse. Iirc the corpse of drew Willy got us the no1 overall pick, a 3rd rounder and another first for them signing him and heath. For collaros I wouldn’t take less than a Canadian starter with upside, two or three firsts/ rights to former first round talent in the nfl, and a reasonable imp roster guy with up side.
  19. Great analogy. truth, singleton was and is a beast. Awe is replacement level and dirty as they come.
  20. Yep. More so in the past some teams would funnel run plays to their mac and let them read the play and get after it. Ray Lewis era stuff biggie and soli. And it worked then especially with guys like that. In this day and age you very seldom see great ds have one guy with a massive amount of tackles. When it does happen you see guys with high total defensive plays. The nfl breaking them down into ast solo and tfl with pressures and hits really let’s you see this stuff. I broke it down in a previous game against the stumps. Awe’s average depth of tackle is well past his positional depth. He isn’t running up and making stops, he’s coming on the back end of long gains and getting in on tackles. I bet his solo tackle numbers and tfl would be really really low. When awe makes a tackle on us it’s almost always after we’ve gained more than our average yards. He’s the prototypical example of bad tackles.
  21. Just wait, this is discussion point is going to make up 95% of the off season posts outside of talking about however the season ends (a grey cup ring for Damien Jackson lol)
  22. Trades Zach back to ssk for seventyhundred first round picks. Zach instantly retires lol.
  23. Montreal too. Faj has held them back. And that’s two play off teams. I can see edm offering him a bag, maybe ham decent chance ssk. I think it also means a team like ssk likely takes a run at buck and brown. But I don’t think they have a chance at either.
  24. Didn’t Harris and blm both get 500k range this last off season? Some one is gonna offer him 400k plus and the helm of their team. And he deserves it.
  25. Brown ends with roughly 983 yards 9 tds no picks 68.1% 9.8 yards per attempt 132 QBR
