Blue Bombers - 2023 Regular Season - Discussion Thread

Really happy that Brady got the double nod. He’s a shoe in for moc mop will be interesting. I think Willy will get serious consideration for dpoty as well. -
Game speed and some fast guys aren’t 40 runners. Some guys are much faster 10/20 or 60/80 runners. 40 yards can fall between gears or some guys hit top speed too late. I find a lot of twitchy quick guys run 4.5 range. A guy like schoen has his speed line up perfectly for the 40. Iirc he’s our fastest wr by a lot in the 40. Have him race grant in a 60/80/100 and grant smokes him. Same in a 10/20. Not digging schoen by any means. He’s perfect for a certain range and incredibly good at playing that range. wasn’t holm mostly a S in college too or am I confused? I think he or Parker would be excellent at s. But it is also great to have guys like that at Sam to chip in with the run game. I really want to see us move on from some vets in the secondary next year. We know they can find turn key dbs in the league and in college. I love some of the vet dbs and what they’ve done for us and the mentality but yeah time to go young.

No place to go but up, eventually. honestly I just want him to stick with tsn. Can we send matty or Jim barker? Or barker and Kate? Dumpster fire is fine. If I was him I wouldn’t stay. When the higher ups make these decisions with out even consulting it’s time to pack it in. -

Scape goat the hc to save your job classic. Why are garbage bins always green? So rider fans know where to change their watermelon hats for bags. -
Pro days and ncaa camp numbers are all equally in reliable. Projected numbers can vary a whole lot too. Even in electric timed 40s conditions can have a huge impact. Peterman probably would’ve run a high 4.3 or 4.4 flat at the combine if conditions had been optimal. Imo just by eye test Parker looks like he has a better too speed, he has an elite top gear not many faster in the league and no one notably faster. Holm, is more explosive. He has an electric first step and change of direction ability. Neither has a deficiency in their athleticism. But both are a bit different. Parker is shorter and far more stout. Holm is taller but more slight. That said both play with good strength. The special factor with holm like mos has said is he has excellent footwork. In general he is a smooth football player. Not some track athlete trying to fit in on the field. For Parker similarly despite his athleticism he is a natural football player. He is more of a dynamic play maker. But both have a lot of similarities. And taking names on teams too.

Toronto and ssk always get their tires pumped on mediocre attendance. Add both teams paid attendances this year and you still have less than us. -
We def give up a lot underneath on the corners. I think the biggest difference between this year + last and the 19/21 squad is the corners made plays off the cushion back then. Great tackles stopping guys just short, picks, knock downs, or even just big hits making WRs pay a high physical toll to make those catches. We don’t have that any more. WRs haven’t had to pay much for making catches vs us this year. The softness of the secondary isn’t just in cushion any more. Parker and holm are fast but also aggressive. I’d much rather deal with aggressive guys that passive. Passive football is just bad football.

1 Brady Demski the historic duo doing what they do 2 biggie the 6 on the great pass rush and the goal line stuff 3 the Jeff’s sacks strip sacks pass knock downs they did what they do hh massive sack by holm for a nearly 20 yard loss on 2nd n goal honorable mention to prukop for effort on short yardage lawler for stepping up and brown for looking good in relief block of the game. Bailey on the first Brady train run crunch of the game. hit on ford by Lawson after he ate the ols lunch walbys warrior. Bailey effort is always on point even if he doesn’t get passes awe that’s dirty. A lot of candidates so it goes to Chris jones for having a whole squad of dirty bastards.
