  1. It’s a big difference but lucky we have lawler Demski and Bailey to step up plus career year woli. His redundancy with Demski worries me. I’d rather see him used to run off deep defenders but we will see.
  2. I want to say it was a shade under 20k, but it could well have gone up a little bit with improvements to infrastructure over that span. They didn’t get that money which is stupid, but they also played at a dirt cheap venue compared to us or the riders now paying off our portions of the new stadiums. They would go and sell out the old ex once a year too. They could’ve done that for a fist full of big games a year and made a ton more cash. As good as the roster management was for them back then the franchise management did stink.
  3. The riders were considered contenders similarly during our reign. The jets are the rough riders of the nhl, fan base and all.
  4. Within maybe what 40% of the average sustainability like for a cfl team? But with all the costs Toronto is famous for, realistically they will be a cyst on the ass of mlse unless they sustain 30k. We saw the ALs, in a much cheaper market, sell out a ton of 19k games in a row in the 00s. And it left them broke, and abandoned by the market when they stopped performing at a high level. +25% on a dumpster fire is still a problem. Personally, short of a miracle I expect to out live the Argos franchise in the cfl.
  5. Lawler had not proven any thing when the lions cut him. If he never played here, it’d still be a waste. Also you didn’t say prove any thing, you said talent. You’re moving the goal line to try and prove your point. Fact is, we’ve wasted talent and failed to develop guys. We’ve brought in more blue chippers in the last two years than we did in the previous 2 seasons. They weren’t all just flops. You’re wrong. It’s not purely recruitment and drafting. Doesn’t matter who you bring in if you don’t put them on the field. Mos has always rostered sub par scrubs over better players for intangible reasons. For the important part of two seasons our talent was soo much better than every one else’s that it didn’t matter. That almost never happens and isn’t maintainable. Reverse engineer your thinking. Did Malcolm Thomas start for teams after us? How many of the maligned guys make other teams rosters and or start when we moved on from them? Teams mostly go after our young guys. Who has signed away a 30 year old from us? The main problem is once guys meet a certain criteria mos is ride or die with them no matter who is under them. Do you think mos would roster nick bosa over jj / wj? I guarantee you he wouldn’t. If we signed the 5 best pass rushers in the nfl today none of them would start.
  6. And given the nature of the mafia, I wouldn’t believe it as a rumour from a reporter or insider. They aren’t leaking that kind of info.
  7. Again the point is look at the teams that beat us and see that it’s not all contenders close to half of them over the two years beating us was the biggest game for them. It’s not that Hamilton is gonna become a 15 win team in the off season but that every year bad teams get better. Even if the record doesn’t improve bad teams get more talent spend more money take more chances on rookies. The line is always moving up, If you aren’t, suddenly you get passed by a bunch of people and fall down in tiers quickly. You can say 99 times out of a 100 that doesn’t happen but it did, 99 times out of 100 bc scores on that last play of ot, 99 times you don’t get the double tip pick to win the gc in ot. 99 times out of 100 Zach collaros doesn’t come back from the brink to become a back to back mop. A good chunk of our loses over two years came to teams that had no business beating us. And the amount of times we played down to teams and came back to win like in edm is staggering. The line that seperates tor, bc and us from the teams below is very thing right now. In 21 it was huge, which is an aberration in it self. Every year the bad teams are one great/lucky off season away from contending. And old contenders are as close to falling off. look at Calgary. They went from expecting to be in a gc to mid play off tier to fringe. That fall off hasn’t even been quick. We haven’t on O though. 3rd q is our worst. We’ve had a bunch of hot starts in our wins. What kind of play call adjustments have you seen in the second half that brought success? The big difference to when our offence succeeds or fails is 1 sticking with Brady, but 2 and most importantly is Zach pin pointing deep balls.
  8. The next man up isn’t always or even often a rookie. When we were the class of the league we took advantage of undervalued and utilized talent like rose hardrick Zach Demski grant lawler etc, or paid fa stars like Willy and biggie to step in and fill a gap.
  9. Habba fox burtenshaw Deng Agudosi ads Muhammad Cole Caleb Lawson Parker salima pigrome. In the pile of guys that beat out superior talents and wasted reps/roster spots szott Schmekel Bennett Jackson machino kola Augustine Thomas gmc/Parker as a return man that’s just a few guys this year. Really not hard Karamoko over maruo would’ve been an improvement too.
  10. It’s not hard to follow clear trends. We were the same gong show, and hamilton/mtl haven’t been gong shows on the field in the last while. I should’ve been more clear I was talking about who beat us not the amount. It’s not extreme, look at the 30 front to take him off more.that was the lowest snaps he’s taken in a meaningful game since idk when. An extreme opinion wouldn’t even be that ba, rose, biggie, wj, jj and our starters on ol will never be better than they are today. Because out side of gray, they combine to be about as old as speedflexs’ first bomber game. Lol it wouldn’t even be a big risk to say we haven’t drafted well since 19. Since the 19 draft have we picked a single guy who’s a starter today? A couple guys have started briefly in relief but that total could probably be counted on your fingers an extreme opinion or hot take would be some thing like Zach is shot, bolo/dobson/Eli are trash, lawler is better than schoen etc. not saying those are my opinions but that’s the range. My hot take? Mos won’t play better young guys because of his loyalty and is making us worse for it. Buck can’t adjust and has failed to build a system that progresses and has wrinkles. Hall is too soft to get his guys to tackle or play aggressive even out side of the cushion. We have our heads soo far up our own butts as an organization that we think our culture will keep us contending no matter what and staying on the moral high ground is as important as winning a gc. And that maybe, just maybe, walters is one foot out the door ready to go back to a gig in Ontario.
  11. This is gonna be an interesting game. Far more so than one would’ve thought even at the mid way point. Heard some 7th hand rumblings about schoen too. I never trust that stuff. And I sure hope it isn’t true. We gotta keep Parker in.
  12. Don’t forget bc went from missing the play offs to contender in one year. In the first half edm was a free spot on the bingo card in the second they’ve been play off quality. Hamilton has a similar turn around. Ott has a lot of good pieces too. The whole league is catching up. Another off season and camp like this last one and we will have no advantage on the roster. Look at our losses this year and last. As much as it is to contenders, it’s to former bottomed feeders rising up.
  13. If we improve next year. If we don’t have hard decisions we will regress in a big way next year. I don’t know if we have what it takes to make those hard calls and move on from guys post grey cup. Remember randles exit? Or mo coming back from injury got very little chance. We used to make those hard moves any time they came up and it propelled the team to greatness. When’s the last time we made one of those moves now? Is it still randle and mo? We lose guys in fa but we’ve been hemorrhaging talent to cfl fa every year since 19. Jake Thomas sure can’t. And we have a bunch of guys paid like stars who can only fill a niche role now. Our o and d were built on versatility we don’t have any of that now. We have to create specific opportunities for a bunch of guys to succeed instead of being able to play what’s best to beat an opposition.
  14. We also need to burn down the old boys club and actually play young guys instead of running out guys who can’t play any more though.
  15. This is fine. Lmao don’t over dose on copium you’re at dangerous levels. neither of our tackles can defend speed rushes. Neuf isn’t gonna retire. He will continue to run out onto the field til he’s forced off it.
  16. It isn’t. Like most people you just drastically under estimate the chance of things getting worse. Teams like Toronto and bc will be improving next year. Some of their best players are young, and they have done a much better job developing identifying and using talent. Zach has taken 116 sacks in his cfl career. 51 of those are between last year and this year. 27 and counting this year. The only play off team who’s qb has been sacked more than Zach is Vernon adams. Our ol isn’t way above average in pass pro. Thinking it is despite all the evidence to the contrary just shows the bias. our ol, dl, secondary and Canadian depth are average despite our lines being among the most expensive in the league. How do you think we keep guys like schoen little on get good cfl vets to fill gaps like that?
  17. Hardrick and Bryant haven’t been healthy late in the season since 19. One at worst has to move into guard and we need a younger tackle. Gray and kola haven’t worked out and nuef is past it. Thomas is soo far past it it’s not even funny. Jeffcoat can’t play half a season and is in the top handful of des. Biggie is only situationally effective. He can’t pass rush can’t get off blocks and can’t scrape to the ball. Rose and ba haven’t been the same in a long time either. Willy needs a guy off the other edge and inside who can get consistent pressure. He isn’t a guy who does that him self. He has more time in him and jj has use but not as a top 3 in reps on the dl. in general our ni depth is the worst it’s been since before 19. We have few guys who can contribute any thing to o or d and the teams specialists we’ve been drafting for years have amounted to very little. We have no guy who is the next miller. How many nis do we have at the skill positions that could start in this league?
  18. Our highest dollar players are some of the oldest in the league and only Zach is in contention for recognition as top at his position. I don’t think it’s over stated that our ol and dl are very expensive and average this year out side of run blocking. Biggie our most expensive dbs these guys are not in the top couple at their position any more. we run it back this time next year we are a 5-7 win team if Zach Brady and schoen return plus stay healthy.
  19. Regression to that level of toxic culture? You’re right not with this group. To that level of play and missing the play offs? Entirely possible. Some of our old guys are barely keeping it together now. If we stand pat again this coming off season I would expect a big step back to a fringe play off record this time of year. With the amount of hits Zach has taken this year and last the ole crieder fan classic one hit away, will be extremely true of us next year.
  20. Probably to allow him to recover on his own at home. Some guys prefer that.
  21. What happened two and three years ago has no impact on today. Last year even has a minimal impact now. It’s not the same team and it’s not the same league.
  22. Same I love his energy in the booth. It’d be well worth him going through a media course and refining his colour skills. I actually love Paul in the booth even more too. If we had either blm Matt or Paul in the booth doing colour for every game that’d be fantastic. With Paul being on the panel when not in the booth. Scianatti as host would be soo much better.
  23. I remember Toronto being considered a serious threat.
  24. He is great on the panel and even better in the booth. If that’s what his career becomes then it’s great for us all.
  25. Top shelf. That said while I hate plop the oc and guy who can’t keep his hands off the play calling duty, he is a great guy, leader, and football mind. I can’t believe there isn’t some role where he could be a great asset to a team and not get in his own way. But I have no idea what that is.
