  1. Remember when cfl mlbers were 245-260? I know the game has gotten faster and more pass / side line of side line oriented but soo many big athletes kick around down south I can’t believe we can’t get 1 guy who is that big and fast enough to cover ground. It’s funny we were talking in another thread last week about the league focusing more on guys who fall between the cracks of hs and d1. They’d likely be more projects that need more than a year but I think it’s clear guys like him are out there that should be in the nfl or on the path to it but miss out because they aren’t cut out for school. I think that talent pool is extremely deep personally. And that a lot of them would jump at the ability to earn cfl rookie imp cash vs juco or the ultra fringe leagues. Is stiggers nfl draft eligible? Is that still a thing? I remember a few times in the past guys became eligible. Don’t think any one was picked but signed as rookies.
  2. He was, since we’ve been feeding biggie to an interior ol for basically two years with out a nose tackle he’s stopped playing heads up football vs the run. If it’s not a pass he’s just chin charging an ol trying to clog the a gap. Cole is also a really sneaky smart guy. It’s rare to find that level athleticism with decent size and great football iq. He’s gonna be a stud in this league. Totally. Run fits in the cfl are just too thin when you don’t have a 2 gap nose. Dbs end up taking off tackle gap while getting smacked by WRs, lbers eat dirt from ol. It’s just bad business for defences. If any thing I’d rather run two 2 gappers force every thing out side and lbers flow to the back. I bet the depth BA has had to play at post injury is a big big factor in his dip in performance. Having to use dbs to fill out run fits all the time also means you have to play off wrs more, as the help they have just isn’t as deep. So we play coverages designed to be shallow but further off and give up tons of easy first down passes.
  3. Nailed it. Bigger deeper better dl being rostered. A nose who can actually be effective taking two gaps away is key. Honestly coaching is part of it too. The Jeff’s have been getting exploited lately for jumping and not maintaining contain. Hansen is also a beast of a run stopper. Kongbo was too. I don’t think it’s about getting biggie closer to the line. If any thing I think he needs to be at regular depth more and reading the play scraping to the ball rather than trying to fill an A gap. He can’t fill and get off a block any more. I think you are really on it though with the dime. I’d bring in Cole/clements in at Sam on some run downs. Or put brings at wil and slide kyrie over to sam for those plays and bring in an extra imp dl. It would also be smart to use Jeffcoat as a naturalized American for the added flexibility at dl. How many targets in each game though. It’s not a speed issue. He can get out into the flats or back into a deep zone. He can’t get off blocks any more, and isn’t very reliable tackling 1 on 1. It’s an explosive/strength issue. Usually older guys get heavier and stronger while getting slower. He has done the reverse. He does a ton of work to stay in shape, but the work he’s done maybe isn’t the best for a mac lber. That’s one of those vets we need to take a long hard look at in the off-season, and probably offer a diminished role to.
  4. That’s a great point. And drake has done a little bit with the Argos as well. Maybe he wouldn’t want to perform half time for Hamilton if he’s actually a fan, but that would be a huge get. The weeknd is also from Toronto and huge in the rnb scene. That’d be siiick. Colab shows like that are perfect for half time shows. Either way the league would be by far best off by presenting diverse options (diversity is strength campaign) to grow the viewership each year.
  5. I’d be starting the first team every game save the last. Guys would play a quarter to a half depending on how things are going then the back ups would play. I think it’s foolish to give back ups entire games with soo many weeks to go till the division final. If the Argos keep their foot off the gas I can totally see that. Only thing is that defense at 100% could possibly carry them to a win single handedly over any one in the east. But if they get rusty or out of shape boy it’ll be upset city. I actually think it’ll be good for us not to have too cushy a finish to the regular season. Keep guys playing meaningful games for as long as possible. We still have a lot to work out.
  6. Easily my favourite in concert band and in my top 5 all time. Personally I think a classic metal show at half time would go over great, the cfls main demographic is pretty much the same as those bands. I also think a rap/hip hop/r n b show would go over great with the younger fans and player base. Damn shame about reed. One of the leagues finest to ever play.
  7. Like I said, film vs your d is worth 10x film ve other ds. Remember how effective fajardo was his first year in ssk? Don’t forget in the mid 90s it took 2 years for nfl teams to figure out Rick mirer. And he was only running 6 plays. We’ve seen countless times that the first time a start up qb plays our D they perform way better than the 2nd time and on. Dane evans first start vs us in 19 he put up 359 yards 3 tds 1 pick.
  8. Sad but not surprising honestly.
  9. Yep pretty much. Nothing for me will ever match ride the lightning, and justice for all, and master of puppets. But I don’t blame a band for going in a new direction. The music video for One is high art imop. From the brilliant lyrics to the nuance like using blast beat to imitate gun fire, to how they fit it to scenes from the movie Johnny got his gun. One of the very peaks of art in metal. the offspring would also be an epic rock get for a half time show.
  10. The stones were great 15 years ago. As much as I love them I wouldn’t pay 5 bucks to watch them live now. Def leopard wishes they were motley Crüe lol. AC/DC would be huge for sure. Probably one of the biggest rock acts still going for sure. The boss as well, tremendous live performer as well. I wouldn’t put sir Paul as a rock guy but he for sure is a huge draw. I’d probably lump more classic metal acts into rock now, like Metallica. They’ve been mainstream and softer than metal for longer than they were hard.
  11. I’m seeing our ol turnstile multiple times per game. Even Bryant but different guys each game. He’s been getting rocked this year and our ol has not consistently put him in a position to excel. He has had to carry the offence and team more each year. Brady has 3 games with 20 or more Carries 5 games with 10 or less. Zach is 5 sacks and 3 sack yards lost behind his career high, and he’s 27 attempts behind that years volume. Our system has gotten away from what made it successful previously. When Zach would run before you’d see layers of guys available to throw to. Not any more. Even on the designed play action roll outs where hes tossing at seams, he has one maybe two options that’s it. We are spreading the routes and running far less concepts designed to create a conflict and opening. We haven’t run any of the Yankee deep out concept that lawler and he fed on previously. If you chart his passes you’ll see crazy clusters of us hitting the same routes at the same depth. We used to move guys around and run the same play out of any formation. Not any more.
  12. Foo fighters would be siiiiccckkk. I’d say motley Crüe is big still. They haven’t had a relevant hit in ages but neither has green day. Queens of the Stone Age probably comparable though easily preferable to me. Sum 41 is Canadian but I think they are done again. Boy the state of rock is depressing.
  13. I’m glad it’s not country! Still kinda meh to me but it’s a good improvement.
  14. He did we were behind for 3/4 of the game. The pick would’ve been nail in coffin vs starters.
  15. Don’t forget the brutal pick Zach threw too. Qbing edge tnite goes to the rookie. No, Toronto pulled the goalie in a game they benched starters. Yards are funny because tor was starting at mid field every drive. It was like the 17 bombers offence.
  16. He moved the ball with out a run game. Scott didn’t complete a pass.
  17. Dukes in less snaps threw for 27 yards fewer than Zach. And with no run game.
  18. He wasn’t cursing through big gaps or any thing. If they didn’t go to qb3 with the game on the line we’d a lost. Forget the starters.
  19. 1 Brady what a beast Carried the team 2 schoen some tough catches and great running with the ball 3 Sergio missed the long one on a tree bouncer but 6/7 and solid in kick offs hh Parker with the only tight coverage we seen in a while. crunch of the game Eli knocked a guy out of his cleats early on awe that’s dirty the refs for the none call on Willy being tackled from behind.
  20. 198 and 1 td. Good thing he isn’t Canadian or we’d never stop hearing about him.
  21. Grounding
  22. Augustine with the cover
  23. Brady is gonna be all 3 stars tnite
  24. Good return and a no yards call!
  25. I’d rather aggressive football than passive even if he gets the penalty though.
