  1. Nichols at S too
  2. Idk what the refs were looking at
  3. What a play by ford!
  4. Nope enhanced stream is available in Canada
  5. I’m watching the stream right now but I’m in mb. Be strange if they are blacking it out for out of market.
  6. Damn that sucks, poor dude.
  7. So far the ctv games have also been on the online “plus” streams.
  8. Is this game going to be on tsn/cfl plus again?
  9. 3 keys to the game, 1 better game from the dl. We’ve got the right guys dressed to have a great game just gotta use them well. 2 a good game plan and play call from buck. Lots of touches in store for Brady, and some good pass pro schemes. 3 stay healthy! Ideally get out to a good lead early and let the back ups clean up the 4th. players to watch the lbers. Can we rotate to make the most of all the imp lbers? They’ve each shined and grown, if they can take the next step as a unit it’ll be huge. fox. Returns from injury and sitting, was the pencilled imp dt starter in camp. Probably going to fight for reps, so he’ll have to shine in limited time. Wallace. It’ll be great to see if he can pick up from where he left off. terry wilson. Likely to finish the game, it’d be great to see him get some traction.
  10. Yep totally. Neck and neck with bonds. Bonds had one bad Game and has dropped a couple picks. Griffin hasn’t blinked at all. Nichols, ford, griffin, woods, then bonds for me.
  11. 100%. Griffin is a beast. Ideally, I’d keep him on no matter what. He’s better than holm. I think Cole at S would be a great package especially on first down. Having Cole, ayers and jones all on the field with kramdi on first would be big for run fits.
  12. Yeah, that’d bring soo much athleticism and versatility to our front it’d be sick. I think people kind of forget where Cole came from. He was a 4 star recruit and the no1 player out of Michigan as a wr. He went to Michigan but only lasted a few games. He went to powerhouse juco school EMCC, where he converted to db. At first he was playing corner/nickel. But he moved to a hybrid sam/S like what we do here. That play got him drafted as a S by the Vikings. Spent two years n change down south with 3 teams as a S. the big thing he had to polish on getting here was coverage for sure, but he doesn’t need to be dropping back directly covering a guy now either. Hes improved a good bit this year and was solid in sam reps last year and S reps in ps this year. In our system the S isn’t the deepest defender, it’s a medium to deep box guy watching the seams and flowing to the play. Which suits him extremely well. Generally for us our CB is the deepest guys, along with the half. Depending on field or boundary side, and field depth they might squeeze the side line more or less. Sam, wil, and S on pass cover plays play similar roles. Two walls and a ceiling basically, playing a triangle above the tackle box. The wil and sam wall off vertically while the S does it horizontally. With griffin and nichols in, the S has the easiest job. Id say Cole is comparable to Kramdi in coverage, but kramdi has never had to adjust to the Canadian game and is sharp. Cole is more instinctual. If you sit him 20-25 yards down field in the middle and tell him to read the qb (which he’s done very well at wil) then come up and make plays on the play, he will excel. I think that would actually be easier for him than playing wil.
  13. Mcgloster sure would be nice over Lofton. Boy you could almost make a better ol of ex bombers in the league than we have. Yeah, Noah has sure lost a lot with injuries. Had high hopes for both and they kinda just back fill the roster now. Karamoko would be a nice replacement for sure. I’m hoping we see some more youth movement in the off season replacing Noah. yeah I really would love to see ayers and Cole on the field together. Seeing. Cole at S with two imp lbers would be nice too. I really want to see Adam’s, woods, and fox out in the 30 front. Running wj as a jack would be even better. I think sending him to rush as a stand up guy would add a lot of longevity to his career. But those 3 as 3i 0/1 would be a huge handful.
  14. That’s really the big thing that could hold us back. That and bucks play call. Other wise, this roster is excellent. I’d love to see an aggressive rotation of guys like Cole, ayers, and jones. I don’t wanna see either hallett in covering guys. And a good volume of snaps for Adam’s/fox. If we do that mtl is in trouble. If buck doesn’t trip over his playbook and get stuck in a flashback to Lapo this will be a slam dunk.
  15. Thanks. I think grant especially has been hard to stomach paying attention to for us bomber fans, but this has been the best year of his career. Correct. No cover guy has ever won it. 3 have been runners up on career years. The goat, arakgi, and beswick. All 3 put up better years in less games after multiple years of being a top kick cover guy. Wade miller twice broke the cfl sts tackle record and never finished as a runner up. Mike sellers as an up back routinely beat gunners and bullets down field to make tackles while dominating with his block. He pinched in a couple times as a ls, and was one of the best short yardage players in the world. He literally went to the pro bowl on the strength of these facets of his game after he left. Baron miles never got a look despite breaking the all time blocked kick record. If some one breaks through, they gotta do more than be in the top few with the usual number of sts tackles. Or like you said, the green bias carry’s another guy to an award they don’t deserve. The league should really completely overhaul the selection and award process this off season.
  16. Guaranteed. I think that’d be reasonable. At worst under rated ni dl get a trophy in a down year.
  17. I agree with most of that. We’ve seen much better kick cover years than mulligan though that didn’t get the nod. For teams, grant has just under 2000 return yards between punts and kick offs with 4tds. We also have 2 kickers with over 50 makes and 93% make rate or higher. Griffin and Ayer’s have more sts tackles per game with less games played. Castillo has made an insane 9/13 from 50 or deeper. If he didn’t have that first game and or maybe the bad late season game he’d be a very strong candidate. At that, cadwallader has been our best teams player imo. Blocked kick, forced fumbles and tremendous cover work. Vs Mulligan being tied for 2nd in stts.
  18. Last week of the regular season and this thread is in prime shape… for the off season lol.
  19. Yup. Ford should have modp and Brady moc for sure. Brady also mop? I think the voters will spread the love to the east. I could also see them giving mulligan modp, Brady moc, and some one stupid in the east mop.
  20. I think going true heavy in a 21/22/12 personnel group base would work even better because teams aren’t out digging up those guys for that system. Every one is looking for the same qb WRs etc. breaking the mold would be insanely beneficial imo. CFL offences are just stuck in this awful rut these days. And with almost no distinctive coaching lineages no one wants to risk going out of their comfort zone. Maybe beau Baldwin in Calgary will bring a breath of fresh air to the cfl offensive game when he eventually moves up from qb coach.
  21. I’m hoping some thing like that is in our future with mci and clercius. If we could add a legit te to that, or just run a 6th ol, good luck stopping it. I think that’s mostly true, save for positions with massive physical transformations. If you were a great ol in the 60s- early 80s, you might simply be too small to play today. 240-260lbs inside is gonna get abused. A bunch of big men in the nba wouldn’t make it today with floor spreading, and the emphasis on range both offensively and defensively.
  22. Yeah, coaching is soo much harder on families than playing when you’re at any decent level. “Football season widows” is a bitter inside joke that people don’t really see. Or how most of the position coaches and cos live season to season. It’s brutal, that’s why I don’t question guys who take cushy jobs with huge pay days. Get it when you can.
  23. Yep, prep is the result of film study leading into good practices and walk throughs and game plans putting guys in a position to counter what the other team does and into position to do what they do best. I think the amount of work that units do is lost on a lot of people. The position coaches and position meetings, then O/D/STs and the role that all plays in practice and install. Every NFL and major ncaa teams stadium has bedrooms because some players and most of the coaches work 18+ hours a day on team prep up until the final walk through of the week.
  24. Offensive players, aside from WRs, have dipped pretty good in talent over the last 10-15 years. If we had continued at that rate, I don't think most guys could play today. And while WR talent is high, I think it'd be one of the easier positions to play at across eras. Teams are soo disinterested in the run game today and just recycle backs endlessly. OL play is in a serious low point (even with holding basically not called any more) and QB play has had the biggest drop off. I actually think a heavier team atleast on offence would be very hard to defend today. Imagine the thunder and lightning era bombers? Who is lining up to take on mike sellers for any team? The amount of guys on the average D today, who weigh more than 225 lbs is extremely low. Any powerback of size would give the league fits today.
