  1. Agree with that. We have actually just not all in the off season. Sts and dc. Jj, grant, biggie, kyrie, sheed, and hardrick. I do not think money is a primary motivating factor for zach. I do not think he wants to be hauled off the field or end on a concussion. If the ol lost Bryant and neuf, or if we moved on from either star wr, I think he’d be strongly swayed towards retiring. Also if buck leaves I think the chances go up. Keep in mind he’s been on a starters pay for 10 seasons. If he’s averaged 500k salary per year that’s 5 mil. I don’t think he has to make decisions based on the financials. glad to hear that. We need the pissed off motivated offence. Zach isn’t normally that kind of leader, for him to bust out that you know he’s fired up.
  2. The guys who need to retire who are injured are done imo. Ba, kyrie, biggie will all pack it in imo. I’d be stunned if any got a deal and came back. Jake turns 34 this year, and I think the only chance we are actually rid of him is if the wear n tear convince him to move on, unfortunately. Neuf probably should but probably won’t unless he’s really hurt. His career likely ends being carted off the field. Zach, I think retires if we win or if he is putrid in the play offs, or if ol retire. Hes been taking a lot more hits the last almost 2 seasons. And he will be 37 next year. Bryant, maybe the health scare prompts him to call it, other wise honestly he can do what ever. He’s still easily good enough to start. Demski Willy and kola aren’t gonna retire. And we aren’t moving on from the guys who don’t retire. Coaching wise, the only chances at major changes is buck getting a hc job (he shouldn’t) or if hall decides to retire (don’t think he will.) other wise I think we bring in a qb coach / offensive qc to support buck, and reshuffle the D coaches. Maybe bring in a new front 6 coach.
  3. Last loss the week after a bye looks like Montreal week 15 in 2019. Like 11 straight wins in games after bye. Falling to 2nd after the win streak would be pretty catastrophic. Idk what it would take to see greater change than what we will see due to age and young guys stepping up.
  4. Again you have to look at who is talking about nfl refs. They are so far beyond what we have it’s not funny. You don’t think there is grey zone in calling balls and strings?! LOL i the nba the issue has been selective enforcement and mandates from the league. Not reffing it self for the most part. Yup. It’s to the point when the flag does finally come out every one is shocked and it’s a stupid advantage when rampant mugging happen on most plays. Like ok don’t even try to block clean any more. If they see a rushers back then push them and ride them into the ground knowing the call won’t come. 100%. It’s every game. Some games the refs are just mia, others it’s the dirty laundry show. No balance no advantage no consistency.
  5. Wallace has also been taking full practices, but they might keep him on the ir to end the year.
  6. Baseball actually has amazing umps. Since they’ve been audited every game the Accuracy has been exceptional save for the odd angel Hernandez type. Year one the average was 82% right on balls/strikes. This year has been 94%. The nfl is reasonable consistent, and their review is 100000x better. It’s often the battle cry of the filthy casual, “refs big dumb dumbs!” They aren’t out to get any one, or specifically screwing any team on a regular basis. They are simply horrid in terms of consistency and frequently fail spectacularly in a few areas. Holding calls, dbs jaming more than 5 yards down field, WRs blocking down field, no yards, spotting the ball, stopping the play on forward progress, and illegal block especially on special teams are all Mickey Mouse level. Watch any state contender hs football team in the us and you will see handily better reffing.
  7. That is a good idea. Taking a quick look at the schedule this year I see edmonton playing 2 road games with 5 days rest, both on the road. Both close loses, though that did come after a bye week atleast. I see similar with ottawa, but with a home game followed by a short turn around road game here, with out a bye week previously. In that stretch they played sunday at home, friday here, then they had the same turn around between the next 2 weeks in a home-away with edmonton. The amount of 5 day gaps ending with a road game is really high. 5 games isn't the worst, but when you add travel once it becomes a lot. 2 games with a short break and both being on the road is just brutal. We don't see all the stretches of 3 games in 10 days that we did early post covid, but we see a high rate of 3 games in 12-13 games with road travel once or twice. We had 3 stretches like that, with no byes before, and a 4 day turn around with travel this year. The schedule is already extremely long, especially for college kids making the jump. 5 days should be the minimum between games, ideally either a home and home or with a bye week before hand. Teams shouldn't play 3 games in 2 weeks or less.
  8. That is a great point. We don't need more nuisance to the situation, we need to be able to execute the basic stuff with rule enforcement. It's basic football stuff that is failing in terms of calls.
  9. Yeah. I get why the bombers challenged it. And it was a bad spot. But we just don’t have the tools to make an educated change like that in the cfl. The cfls challenge system hasn’t really evolved since it was first put in. The nfl has crazy angle and the ability to pick exactly the angle they need to see. They can’t even get the td sneak play right, how could they ever get a call like that right? The need for infrastructure to support the challenge system is dire. We don’t even have a good angle square to the goal line from the end zones. For spots, I think the future is the chip in the ball. But short of that they need to do some thing. Rapid stills, drones programmed to keep in view the ball and the yard marker, that stays square to the side line, a freaking frame by frame camera some thing. The worst part of this game isn’t even the difference in a win or loss for us or the argos. It isn’t even the perception of ineptitude of the league officiating. It’s that all the fans watched this should be thrilling end only to see the worst of what the league has to deal with. All year every spot in every single game is a game of plus or minus 1.5 yards. A few outlier times I’ve seen 2 plus yard errors. And I’m not talking forward progress or difference between knee and elbow. Im talking maximum forward progress spot plus 2 and times and the bottom of the feet minus a yard and a half. Apathy is the greatest threat to the league. And the greatest force behind apathy towards the league, is our reffing, discipline, and command centre.
  10. Yeah, unless Mitchell had unknown experience in the marines and hart came up with some toxic big guy nfl vibes doesn’t make a lot of sense. Im hoping that the mid season move to younger guys (largely facilitated by injuries) will bring about the much needed change for next year. That plus hopefully we win and a few guys like Jake hang em up.
  11. I’d say he’s a good qb, but bad at being professional. I think he’s doing what is in his best personal interest right now. I fully believe he loves bc as a market, it’s beautiful, low pressure, the owner is happy to spend and brings in big concerts, and till Rourke he’s had the run of the market. I think he believes some where deep down that he can some how push out rourke, which is what he wants most. So he’s doing his best to be radio silent only surfacing to toe the line. As such, I bet he’s thrilled to see rourke struggle and get a shot again. Would he be happy to sit on the bench next year for his full salary in B.C.? I think he might. But it won’t happen
  12. What happens if vaj is meh? Right decision but too late.
  13. The only good bye week is one that’s over.
  14. I don't think the PR reduces in size, but it terminates with the regular season. A bunch of teams are pruning the PR, so I assume it's prep for year end. Edmonton cutting guys who aren't gonna play etc. I wonder if any one cut will be of interest/use. I suspect we will only add guys if it looks like we will not have some one for the play offs. Hope person gets a look and hubert gets one more. Cant believe we kept mitchell all year. Plus both Case and Smith. Man the PR is ugly. Would be better if the IR was jam packed all year, but still just ugly not turning over spots more when we've starved for positional depth at many times this year.
  15. Idk if these were try outs for next camp or if they guys failed a hard check point. Had hoped to atleast get a look at hart.
  16. Dobson wasn’t bad by any means. Got straight up beat by a damn good 3 tech once. Mostly on twists he handed off to kolo as he should and kolo muffed it bad. kolo - F lofton - D Neuf - C dobson - C bryant - A-
  17. And the goal line fail plus all the fail on the ol
  18. 1 Cole. Tons of great plays on d and teams 2 jones knock downs and lots of good run stops 3 lawler catching every thing hh Brady’s brig run block of the game Wilson on Brady’s big run down field crunch of the game Garbutt smashing crappy Kelly taits turning point the second miss by castillo goat horns buck, zach, Lofton, Castillo, kola, Jake, holm, refs and CC. honourable mentions Kelly, Brady, wheatfall, Wilson, Garbutt, and nichols.
  19. Matty is Right though. No hesitation that’s a first with ease.
  20. I mean it’s a good yard plus difference on the spot. Can’t say how far but it’s past imo
  21. Foot didn’t look out He didn’t go out but idk how you spot the ball.
