I suspect they will go back to using him on teams only if he is the extra wr. They don’t usually have the starting WRs play teams. mccrae didn’t get any pre season action. He may just be getting reps to get sharp. often big smooth players look like that. As if the game is easy on low effort. if he starts separating and using his reach he would be elite. But as is he is the guy who will come out for lawler. So he isn’t at all likely to hit 700 which would be close to his entire college and pro career yards combined. 29 year old rookie in his 3rd year here. This is his shot to make a career for him self.

Imo some of the biggest issues I’ve seen from him this year are separation or lack their of and crocodile catches. He isn’t being smart or sharp with his cuts or the concepts we are running. This is what makes schoen elite. And lawler too. They know when to burst when to cruise and how to play the game with dbs. I haven’t seen any of that from Agudosi. If we game plan and package specifically for him we can create opening but dbs figure this stuff out quick. He just doesn’t use his length to create extra cushion either. We waits too long for the ball to hit him in the numbers. He isn’t getting out and attacking the ball with his hands. this can change and improve. Bailey has had two rough starts to the season and bounced back in a big way both times. Agudosi just has to grind. That said idk how much more time he has left and at his age its tough to be that raw. Demski is a few months older than him. Woli and sheed are both a bit younger. Grant is a bit older. Lawler is a bit younger. (Grant Demski lawler sheed and Agudosi are all 29, woli is 28.)

Tc and pr scouting is dead in the cfl. But we still haven’t finalized all the roster moves with the pr.

We had a great enough level of talent that it didn’t really matter. But we haven’t replaced that depth and have lost it. It matters much more now. Failure to realize and seize the next man up over old vets is what sinks franchises back to 3 win seasons. the terrible secondary, lack of use of fox etc was a factor in the loss. We also had 1 viable back up dl, no back up cover dbs, or WRs. the cuts and rosters are made by the coach not the gm. Doesn’t matter who you bring in, if they don’t get a chance. That’s the point. People lampooned the wr core talent here with lawler and Bailey Demski and woli. Lo and behold it wasn’t the problem people thought it was. You know how many rings and wins don matthews has? Better fire mos for him. The raptors just canned the only coach the had win them a tittle. And mos was getting close to the axe before the 19 win. No one is beyond questioning. Especially when they repeatedly make questionable decisions and bad rosters.

The coaching staff has turned around and cut the year previous guys frequently for rookies with no reps as well though. Mohammed is not a rookie and dbs don’t need a lot of time to get the system. preseason is the evaluation tool. Live action against other teams with full contact. You could argue the strength of camp years ago but in todays modern no tackle practices you can’t. Idk what you watched with salima to miss it. Again this isn’t a short listed. Fredrick at db cut for a green rookie then started for two other teams. Montgomery cut after being a force in pre season and one mid season appearance. Then we run through a couple other solid des last year only too cut them as well and deploy a human waste of a roster space we plucked from the ssk waste bin. How about this, Macleod bethel Thompson. Cut for Sean McGuire Dru brown on the active roster then cut for another rookie who was also cut and never saw camp.

Thomas was our best dl before the season he was cut for walker. Swaray over Mohammed. Mccrae over salima. Soo many guys over machino it’s not even funny. How many names you want? A hundred? How far back to do you want go? Lbers in the kuale hurl era? Des last year? Dynamic play makers are always valuable. Doesn’t matter if they fit the current dynamic or system. At qb, it’s only more valuable. The league has a bunch of turds still floating around most teams. It’s the job of coaches to develop those guys and put them in a position to develop. Sadly we fail at that frequently. michael vick isn’t waking in the door in the cfl and he wasn’t a great passer. Manning isn’t either. If fajardo can be made to float in this league pigrome can be a useful weapon.

Blink always had amazing drive with the pads on. I still think mos would cut blink. Soo many times over travelling on his own, late for film study, out partying right before games etc.

Rookie QBs seldom do. Dru brown didn’t look like he belonged in the pros his whole first year.

Yep. Here it’s a ride them into the dirt type of business. Even if they started out as dirt. We seldom seem to scoop other teams nis actually now that I think about it. And these days teams seldom scoop up our nis short of coming back from the nfl.

It’s not as much trouble keeping guys it’s fringe guys with fringe roster and career movements. That said we haven’t had trouble converting short yardage, despite the turn over. Even when a guy like prukop struggles Early on. Brown I think will get better money in the off season else where and maybe a chance to play. None of our recent back ups were shakier in short yardage at first than prukop and no one nearly as bad as brown in his first partial year here. He looked completely out of place. Like I said, if he’s that bad at picking things up it’s a move that should’ve been made a month a go. But if brown gets the leeway he has, can’t tell me pigrome doesn’t deserve that much or more. that’s lots of possibilities and each could be true, it’s all wild speculation at that point. But what is clear and factual is our roster useage and development is problematic. Was Thomas the same? Are szott and Schmekel football geniuses and the greatest team mates/locker room guys in history? Do we have a secret stash of ni depth guys waiting to come in and fix our teams? Is abu the greatest db in practice like holm was in camp and that’s why mohammed sat for a green rookie who got torched? etc some of the speculated reasons could be the problem in this case or that case, but not all. And the amount of poor decisions doesn’t lend the benefit of the doubt to those possibilities.

Having Eli and Dobson as the subs to come in for short yardage is an insane amount of beef. If Jackson is still dressed that’s just over powered. Short yardage crew should be automatic for 2 or 3 yards at that point. though hopefully that extra beef means we won’t carry Jackson. I Really want to see Lawson and fox side by side. Good luck dealing with Willy and Habba off the edges when those two collapse the pocket and eat 3 o linemen’s lunch. if our defence could just get healthy. Not likely. If he’s healthy for the last chunk of the regular season and is in shape and ready for the play offs they’ll keep him. Guy like that has tons of leash. I think short of a season ending injury or trade the earliest we split ways is the off season. Iirc jeffcoat is on a 1 year deal. Man that’s a lot of good news. I’m sure Brady and schoen will be good to go as well. If we get Houston Eli and Lawson back that’s huuuuge. worried that abu is still with the first team. Really don’t want to see him start again this week.

Removing a guy with high end potential, for a guy with none, in order to fill a specific role that is the easiest in the league and that we aren’t struggling with. When the team is already the oldest in the league and struggling with depth and health that’s a tough pill to swallow. If you can’t coach a guy up to do a qb sneak from rookie camp, through main camp, pre season, and a couple weeks of the regular season that’s messed up. If a guy is that bad that they couldn’t learn it, you have a failure in talent evaluation keeping him that long. personally I’m sure it’s just he wasn’t turn key and they didn’t want to spend the time on qb3 in practice for now. Which is lame. Disappointing talent development, and roster use is hardly a surprise at this point. Hopefully he goes to the pr sits and gets an opportunity down the line and in camp next year.

I think he’s more the Flanders mid to modern term mos di who never sees use on offence or defence. Boy I hope that’s the case.

He’d be palaced on the pr which is essentially being released. Brown is the only one of the three with a prayer to actually run the offence he wouldn’t be the one sent down. Also some guys just aren’t willing to sit on a pr. We’ve seen that before. And for the 400 what ever bucks a week I can understand. It’s gotta be more than that but I doubt it’s much more. I think it’s just about time. He got one rep, on which our centre got pushed back into his lap. Probably after the first bye week they will retry rather than making it a focus of practice during prep for a game.

Alberta sucks at football, the east is holding it’s own at the top, the bombers have had a 2015 type of loss, bc is only giving up 7 points per game, ssk attendance is mediocre, feels like this season is taking place in the twilight zone.

Good dbs can struggle with poor supporting cast, and high turn over. We saw it early the last two years. Especially when BA was out and even before we moved BA to saftey. I’m not ready to write off Lawrence, but we should dress an extra imp db and not have to lean on Lawrence. best case scenario imo is one of rose Parker Houston is healthy and good to go for this game. Then we start Muhammad and da Lawrence as a back up.

Yep. Imagine if we get healthy, get ford back and cut the dead weight? 2 nis on the active let go and 3 wasted spots on the pr. Bring in a couple imp wils and another nose for the pr. Then if we pull a ritchie type trade and send out a couple draft picks for some turn key special teams vet ni who provide some depth. We’d be set. We’ve been drafting like we retain our nis and guys that go to the nfl. And retaining our nfl talent like we are still turning out stud draft results like we did a couple years back. And we just aren’t.

It’s not just depth though. Walker isn’t good enough. Habba is depth and he’s going to be a star. 4 games less than 5 weeks 4 sacks and a bunch of tackles. We need to get healthy and we need to pick and nose and go with them.
